    The Tacolate

Salt & Straw is one of my first Oregon loves. Back in the day, I remember waiting in line for way too long but it always being worth it because the service and ice cream is just that good. This location is one of my newest favorites because it's surrounded by so many good eats. We can have a meal and then grab a treat or vice versa. I also love that there is covered outdoor seating at this location with a fireplace. But the real reason for my current review is the launch of the Tacolate (aka a new and improved choco taco, which was my all time favorite ice cream dessert). Thank you Salt & Straw for taking a beloved classic and making it your own with the quality and thoughtfulness you are known for. It looks beautiful and tastes incredible. Much appreciated.

Stopped by with family on a fall Saturday morning. Best time to come since we were the only patrons. I've driven by during summer and the lines are long! If you are not in a hurry you can park by the covered parking near Kingpins. Parking around the building is not guaranteed. Lots going on in the area. Friendly staff, clean, and chill soul background music. We ordered the following: $6.95 - Honey Lavender Single scoop - Delicious! $6.95 - Sea Salt With Caramel Ribbons - Classic you can't go wrong with $6.95 - Albequina Olive Oil - amazing. You can't go wrong with Salt & Straw. Always delicious options and great seasonal variations.

It's that time of year again. It's time for the berries series that includes the Birthday Cakes and Blackberries (5 stars). This signature and seasonal July flavor is my favorite Salt & Straw flavor. I don't go to Salt & Straw as much as I used to, but I try to swing by in July to get this flavor. I don't usually like birthday cake. When the chunks of this colorful cake are folded in the creamy ice cream along with blackberry jam, it makes this an irresistible combination that I've had twice this month. I enjoyed the sweetness with varying textures in each bite. I ordered it as a split single scoop with Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons (5 stars). I became a fan of this year round flavor after I recently tried it at the Bridgeport Village location during a YEE. It had the good amount of delicious caramel. My husband tried a sample of the Banana Bread with Strawberry Jam, but he preferred a single scoop of his go to flavor, vegan Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip. My son loved his kids scoop of Double Fold Vanilla. They were fully staffed during each visit and ready to help if we wanted samples. The service was 4 stars. There are a few tables outside to enjoy the yummy ice cream.

I was able to try two flavors that I didn't in the past and was very happy with it. I got their seasonal flavor which was chocolate with potato chips. It was my first time having something that salty with chocolate and the combo went very well! I also got the lemon whey and that was super refreshing and delicious. It wasn't overly sweet as you can taste the lemon flavor and I wish I could buy a pint of that. Both flavors were really good and the servers were very nice and patient as this around, I sampled 5 flavors (hehe).

Line around the shop on a cloudy 50s day, Portlandia for ya

Portlandia interprets of classic icecream. Love how you can sample all the flavors before you have to pick, no wonder the old Baskin Robbins in Cedar is history. Be ready for not your standard kind of icecream but even traditionalist should find something to their liking. This new store isn't ideally with limited parking and all outside dining. What is the logic of no inside eating area when it rains 9 months of the year, oh yeah Portlandia thinking. Make it a point to come on Halloween to have creepy crawling ice cream with worms and crickets

After a Christmas and HH down the street, my wife decided she wanted S&S. Ok. Cool. I've never been there walked in. Great staff and options. Tried a couple flavors and made my selection...nothing crazy (which they have some interesting flavors), cinnamon snickerdoodle cookie dough -- I think. We paid, then sat outside in the sub-50 degree "heat." Thankfully they have a ln outdoor fireplace to site next to.

Came in to try and lord! Was it packed!!! The line moves fairly fast so it wasn't a huge deal. Now, I've never ever seen the flavors they had anywhere else. Examples: honey lavender, strawberry with coconut water sherbet, and pear with blue cheese. Interesting, right?! They had tons of other wild flavors. I got nervous and ordered the vanilla which was delicious and my wife got the strawberry coconut and that was super tasty as well!!! Next time, I'll actually try something out of the ordinary. Staff was nice, place was clean and was easy to get to. Just beware, it's literally in front of a water fountain park for children so the foot traffic in front was kinda crazy.

My group was excited it was by where we ate dinner. I went with salted caramel and was not disappointed. They offer unique mixes and flavors. They offer a powerful punch. Was not too busy. Has a water pad out front for summer. In a good spot for parking

Coolest ice cream flavors in town! I tried their strawberry honey balsamic and black pepper icecream and it was so so good! Honey lavender was good too! So refreshing! Expect long wait lines! Nice vibe!

Salt and Straw has such a way with fresh berries that their seasonal combos make it taste like jam that's still cooking on the stove! I got the blackberry birthday cake special and it was a great combo of berry and celebration! Friendly staff and fun atmosphere, as long as you're able to grab parking in the always busy Cedar Hills, this is perfect for an evening sweet treat!

Me and the family absolutely love salt and straw. Lines go by fast the staff is always friendly and patient even wen busy and the options for ice cream is insane. Unique and delicious high quality flavors for all seasons. Small in side the shop but plenty of out door seating Located in a plaza with many other stores and restaurants plenty of parking.

Results- - Canned (not fresh) peaches used in drink. This may have caused weird aftertaste that does not have that familiar peach flavor like other places. - Flavor is way too sweet for 50%. - Light ice was done correctly When I walked away I quickly realized that they did not add my crystal boba toppings to my drink. I just had a few slices of lemons. After walking back to let them know, the girl who prepared my drink admitted to the guy that I questioned the issue about that she forgot to add it. No apologies from the girl directly and it was passive but only from the guy whom I mentioned the issue to. They have a lot of young kids working here and it looks like they work fast but they need to read the ingredients to fulfill the order correctly and to be consistent. I may give this place another try but will be sorely disappointed if they miss the mark again. (FYI- This exact location used to be Nobibi which quickly went downhill and this new business took over.)

I added breakfast to this place while they visited me for a few days. We called in our order as instructed on the website. Unfortunately no Boba was available for on the pancakes. When we arrived I was disheartened to find the place rather small either intense heat of a bakery, which made the lone table inside with a meandering fly the least bit welcoming. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!
