I have been wanting to try this place and finally got to visit on a random Thursday afternoon. It was a little chilly outside so they are not busy at all but I can only imagine how popular they are in the summer! Looking from the outside, the storefront is bright and they have menu posted outside so you can decide on what you might want before you walk in. You order at the kiosk which is nice and straightforward with pictures to help. The only thing is the screen is a little sensitive so I had to keep scrolling and then make sure my order is accurate to what I wanted. The regular size ($9) is pretty good sharing size already for me but their large is huge! We really wanted to try the Korean Taiyaki (Bungeo-ppang) - the fishy shaped pastry filled with different fillings and they make it to order so they came out hot and fresh. We decided to get the Brownie bingsu and the Green Tea Lover bingsu. I love that they give you the option for what type of base you want (milk, chocolate, green tea) and I especially appreciated the oat milk nondairy base options without the extra charge!! Thank you so much for this! There was also a coconut condensed milk option! There were a group of young girls that came in when we were sitting waiting for our to-go order and the nice owner (I assume?) patiently explained the difference between traditional shave ice and bingsu and how to order. She was so friendly and helpful when our order was ready to make sure we didn't close the container with the Bungeo-ppang so they didn't get soggy in transit (I definitely made that mistake before!) Wow. Just wow! I vividly remember my first couple of visits here. I was not impressed. It was when they first opened and it didn't seem like they could compete with other similar spots around town. But they were a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I didn't think much of the place and even encouraged my friends to take a trip to other bingsu or shave ice places in Portland. Well, fast forward to last weekend. My wife was driving and had a hankering for a frozen dessert. So she drove use here. The decor didn't change much, except the menu was more vast. But what my wife ordered compared to the simple bowl of shaved ice with fruit thrown on top was now a visual treat as well as a tasty one. I wish I had a pic of what was being served from day one, because what we recieved during our most recent visit was pretty epic by comparison. read more

IC Bingsu is delightful with ambiance and desserts! We've only tried their bingsu (mango, strawberry, oreo) and we have to say that the fruity ones are the great. There is plenty of indoor seating, but every time we've visited they've been busy so we have to wait a couple minutes (10-15) for a seat. Well worth the wait though! Great spot for dessert. We had great and friendly service. I love that they have dairy-free options for my son who has an allergy. The owner makes her own oat condensed milk and it was so good! Really loved their Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsu! The strawberry flavor was strong and refreshing. The crunchy buttery crumbs added to the texture and cheesecake feel. The shaved ice itself could have been softer and milkier though. Portion was great. One bingsu was good to share between two people. Environment: It was a small area where they try to fit as many chairs/tables as possible. There are tables outside too but on a hot day, be prepared to wait! The theme of the area was white and there is a touch screen where you order your food. Staff: They were kind and polite. They all look like students or young workers. Nothing wrong, just an observation. They were working hard and I went on a hot day so they were super busy but still nice. Food: They had croffles and bingsu. I got their blueberry shaved ice. The shaved ice was made out of milk instead of water. There is that option if you can't handle dairy. The blueberries were frozen but the sizes were pretty big. Because the blueberries were on the tart side, it went really well with the sweet bingsu. The mochi on my bingsu was also good; a bit chewy but soft so my jaws didn't feel sore. The price of shaved was a bit pricey but you're in that area. Or maybe I rarely have bingsu so I don't know the general price. Anyways, it was good and worth getting it during from time to time. I want to try their croffle next time as it looked really good or their strawberry shaved ice. My friend got the boba for extra price and it was good texture. This is my 2nd time having. First of all this is probably my 2nd time having bingsu in my life so I am no connoisseur to them. I will say it was my 2nd time getting Mango Bingsu. First time I came, it was dead but it was busy. It was like 3 people inside waiting for their orders but maybe there were online orders too, because I did wait quite a bit of time, when I ordered on the kiosk it felt like. This time I called about 5 minutes prior and was told 15 minutes. The phone call was little longer than I'd think I needed to be, first and last name and phone number. I always had first name and phone number. But I could be just nitpicking, and the lady who helped was extremely nice. I got there in 5 mins after calling . Waited around for someone since they were all working in the back. For some reason the people who got bingsu in house looks a lot smaller compared to my To-go order . Hillsboro gem | delicious and unique We first found out about this place through Instagram. I'm so glad we stopped by to check this place out. It's very new and definitely already a popular spot. Wait time for us was about 25 minutes to get 1 croffle and 1 bingsu, and this was on a Wednesday in the early afternoon with every table filled with patrons. Love Matcha? Definitely order the Matcha Lovers Bingsu! It is not overly sweet or bitter. It's a great balance of both with just the right amount of flavor soaked into the dry flaky shaved ice dessert. It comes with a scoop of red bean, mochi, and corn flakes. Two can share one bingsu, but if you really want to indulge, one person can finish it themselves. My daughter wanted the brownie croffle. It's messy but delicious! Thick waffle-like dessert soaked in a sweet syrup with brownies, whipped cream, and a chocolate syrup drizzle. The waffle itself is a thick pastry and filling. The best Korean dessert this year (2024) for me goes to IC Bingsu! They have all the Korean staples including the fish bread or taiyaki if you prefer the Japanese name. The bread is made to order so it could take some time. The bingsu was delicious with a heavy serving of toppings. The lady working that night actually came out to check on us because she was worried the bread molds didn't press correctly. Perfect visit for a hot day! A and I shared a blueberry yogurt bingsu for dessert. It was full and one ordering machine was down, but it was still relatively quick to get through the line. I saw crickets had a min 10 minute wait time. We got our bingsu quickly and they were very attentive as when they saw me walking form a table with two people, they put a 2nd spoon on my tray. My honest review would be to give this place a 3.5/5 stars. I was so excited that there's finally a dedicated bingsu/shaved ice place on this side of town! There used to be Sweetang in this plaza many years ago that also sold bingsu, so I was expecting something similar at this spot. We came during their soft opening so I was prepared for a long wait. They told us before we ordered that they only had a couple of shaved ice machines working so expect a bit of a wait. But to compensate the wait, they offered some free drink samples, which was refreshing. We ordered a Mango Bingsu and Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsu. For the price of $12-$14, the bingsu was a bit smaller than I expected. I enjoyed the Strawberry Cheesecake Bingsu more because the fruit was fresh and there was plenty of toppings to eat along with the creamy ice. The Mango Bingsu was a bit disappointing because the mangos tasted like they were from a can, not fresh at all. It is mainly self service through kiosk unless you need something after placing order, napkins and utensils will provided when you pick up your tray with bingsu made.. A bit pricey compared to other local shave ice places, note this is Korean shave ice called bingsu. this is not the same as the Hawaiian shave ice, however in Waikiki/North Shore on main island are serving shave ice that are more like bingsu where it's snowflake style and have fruits or different flavoring agents as well. Overall if you're really craving shave ice this is local spot, if don't mind driving a bit further can give Waimea Shave ice or Snowy Village a try for a bit lower cost and more variety and larger portion size. read more

Shop is clean. Parking was easy. We ordered the small mango bingsu for $9. We were shocked at how small it was. It essentially is a one scoop of ice cream size for the shaved ice and cream. Fruit wasn't ripe. Do love you can customize the toppings and they accommodate allergies including dairy free. I'd say the small bingsu is worth more in the $4-6 range or just order the larger size as it's only a few bucks more and appeared to be more than double the size. We stood there for 10 minutes before the middle-aged asian woman that was working there finally decided to glance in our direction--no smile or anything. Not even a "one moment, I'll be right with you." We told her that we had received two coupons for free samples from the Sushi place next door and she coldly said "just wait" and then ran off and got busy again. Every table was filled and I could definitely say I know why. My party and I tried the mango, taro, green tea/matcha, and oreo bingsoo, all of which were great. Mango was our favorite! We wanted to try the brownie bingsu but they were out of stock. We ended up trying 4 different flavors and all of them were great. We went around 3 pm and it wasn't busy. Our order took about 15ish min. Inside, they have board games to play for when waiting or when you want to hangout. When you walk in, place your order on the screen and it'll give you your order number. There is no interaction with the worker. I really wanted to like this place more but it is still in the growing stages. We were second in line when they opened at 1pm. The lady before us ordered ahead but didn't realize the door was unlocked when there was a line behind us waiting to get in. No one came to the door to say anything so we all just continued to wait till a bit after one when I asked the lady in front of me if she tried to see if the door was open. Which it was ‍ but again, no one knew! You have to order off a kiosk and one of the two, was out of order so the line took a while. I found this odd since the place is so new. Anyway, by the time I finished entering my order, the line was out the door! Bingsu is a milky shaved ice dessert from Korea. Usually very good! This one lacked the milky taste and we really should have ordered extra cream to make it taste better. I had the mango one and requested red bean and mochi. I did not realize that they simply give you a small container of each and do not add it to your bingsu. Again, I found that odd. Additionally, the mango was cut too close to the seed so it tasted like the seed which is not pleasant. I also did not care for the whipped topping which made it taste cheap in my opinion. Whipped topping was not complimenting and I'd rather have ice cream if they really needed to add anything. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Snowy Village in Seattle and Snow Bunny in Portland.
