Over the weekend a friend brought over a cake from Blue Moon Bakery. I almost never get to eat dessert because I am gluten and dairy free, so I was pretty excited to learn this was one cake I could eat! The cake was a coffee cake sort with blueberries. Oh my goodness it was so incredible! It was somehow dense but moist and light all at the same time, with the most satisfying texture... and the flavors! Just the perfect amount of sweetness, and I'm almost certain it had some good pinches of sea salt and cinnamon in it as well. Run! Don't walk. The BEST gf pastries I've had. On Fridays and Saturdays they make breakfast sandwiches from their savory scones, highly recommend. This is my second time here and when I went on Halloween Friday, all the staff were dressed up and they offered a raffle for anyone in costume, how fun! They do have 2 parking spots along the shop, but there were street parking available. I am not gluten free but I'm so happy to see all these amazing options for my friends who are gluten free so they can also enjoy more yummy treats! There were certainly so much to choose from it was hard to narrow down what I wanted to try. They also had lots of great seasonal offerings too full of pumpkin and spooky goodness for the season. I got the Spicy Mocha with oat milk which was smooth with a nice kick of spice after each sip. But my favorite was the ube square donut with the matcha glaze!! I am still thinking about it and can't wait to get it again! It was so fluffy and offered just the right amount of sweetness for me! I gave my other treats to my gluten free friend but I'm sure the peach fritter and the pumpkin chocolate chip scone were just as good. I also had their ham and cheese hand pie before as well and really enjoyed it. Stopped in for a first visit...mostly because I'd seen pics of the ube donut. We got a variety of items to try: cake and raised donuts, breakfast sandwiches, a hand pie, cinnamon roll and cheesecake bar. I wasn't a fan of the raised, but the ube cake donut was lovely. The hand pie was good with lots of filling, although the icing was too sweet for me. The flavor of the cinnamon roll was great. My hubby loved his cheesecake bar, but both of us enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches the most of all our items. Fabulous flavors in both biscuits. Everything here was so good, my family and I came in all together and got a big variety of the pastries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a little small but it held my large party no problems, the staff was very sweet and patient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love that everything is gluten free, I have to eat gluten free but the rest of the group came here just to get me goodies and ended up loving everything. Not my favorite. The donuts were pretty pricey. I got the Boston cream donut and that tasty oily. I also got the bacon quiche. The price was wayyy expensive for how small the slice was and it overly salted. The blueberry lemon cake was okay. The service was good but the options were really limited. read more

We can't eat gluten, dairy, or eggs. I felt so hopeless for a while, until I found Blue Moon Bakery. I will happily drive 45 minutes to pick up goodies from their store, but I don't even have to! With their weekly mobile pop-ups and advance ordering, I can have my favorites every week. I love (and truly don't understand) how they can make gluten free, vegan (not everything, but they have DONUTS!) treats so incredibly tasty. I have been a customer at the production bakery for several years, and now they are expanding to offer this retail shop...featuring GF donuts. My favorite: Apple Fritters. On a blind taste, I doubt anyone could tell the difference between these and a wheat-based flour. Stop in for coffee and a donut. I really enjoy the donuts at Blue Moon Bakery. In particular their fritters and Boston cream donuts are my favorites. They are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, at just the right size for a single donut to eat by myself without feeling overloaded by sugar. They are my go to place for donuts around Hillsboro in general and I'm not even gluten free. They just make good food. read more

Tried their apple fritter, lemon raspberry and strawberry cream filled donuts, the brown sugar pop tart, lemon bar, cheesecake brownie, ube donut and one of the other smaller donuts. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! Second completely gluten free bakery I've been to and this place blows the other one out of the water.
