This is one of my favorite local bakeries to support! Come for the Marionberry cinnamon rolls but stay for the fresh bread and butter samples and warm service! They have an amazing selection of fresh breads, rolls, cookies, muffins, seasonal specials and so much more! It's a small space but you can see everyone working hard in the back baking away. We were greeted upon entering with the loveliest service offering fresh bread and butter. (How do you make whole wheat taste so good??) My daughter and I enjoyed the Dakota as well with the regular and garlic butter and of course we got Marionberry cinnamon rolls to go and I love that you have the option between frosted and unfrosted. The icing on the cake for visit was my daughter got a leprechaun coloring page and was told she can color it and bring it back to trade for a giant cookie and have it displayed in the shop! What a wonderful way to engage the kiddos. Thank you so much for that fun surprise! This is one of my new favorite places in Hillsboro for both a specialty bread loaf and their freshly made sandwiches. I always knew about this little bread making factory, but now I finally get what the hype is all about. Here's a few little reasons as to what makes this place "Great!" * Parking Situation * It's next to a Safeway, so plenty of spaces for parking. People come and go, so front row parking is usually obtainable. * Dining Expectations * First of all, they're a tiny shop, and there's only one long stand-up table against the window. So basically, no 'sit-down' dining. If you're grabbing lunch, you can also expect a lunch line due to its popularity. Sometimes the line can be out the door. * The Harvest Offerings * What impressed me most, was walking in with a warm welcome from the staff, and being offered a slice of bread to sample. They even offer some of their buttery spreads you can spread on it too. And it happens with every visit! Here's a few sandwiches I've tried: ~ Classic Turkey (1/2 sandwich, $6) made with their garlic cheddar bread. A simple sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, slices of turkey, mayo, and Tillamook cheddar. It's that soft bread that made it all so yummy. ~ Tuna Salad Sandwich (whole, $10), and I gotta say their tuna ain't so bad either. Not heavy on the dill flavor, but flavorful and filling enough. I had this on their wheat bread, and I'd say they make a tasty whole wheat! ~ Other favorites I've tried, their Club sando with Turkey slices and bacon. And their BLTA with avocado of course. Both are just yummy classics. Yes, I'd say their offerings are basic sandwiches, but really you gotta experience this place just because of the bread alone. They do have a display case full of pastries like their breakfast bun with egg, two types of cinnamon rolls, two types of bread pudding, brownies, scones, muffins, and various types of cookies. Look behind you and they've got a shelf with 'Day old cookies' that are still sweet to eat! But in closing, come here for the samples, come here for the sandos, come here for the pastries! Came across this place while door dashing. Thought I'd try it out. Ordered the BLT and the Chipotle Turkey sandwiches on honey wheat bread. Very tasty. They have goodies like these super large cookies, scones, etc plus you can buy jams, chocolates, drinks and other specialty items. They also give you a sample bread of your choice to try. The only thing I would suggest is to follow a customer's preferences when preparing their sandwiches. I NEVER order any mayo, mustard, chipotle or any other kind of condiments or sauces on my sandwiches. Where there was suppose to be lettuce on my BLT, I didn't have any. On my Turkey, I found lettuce but also Chipotle sauce which I didn't want. Seems like I better check what I order before I leave the store like you do at a drive up window. We were heading into the dry cleaners, and for some reason we'd never noticed Great Harvest right next door. We were immediately offered a sample bite and chose the lemon blueberry bread. Yummmmmm. That's definitely coming home with us. We inquired about any breakfast sandwiches and were directed to the buns. They've got delectable looking buns filled with egg and meat (various meat options from which to pick). Again...yum. Tasted so much fresher and healthier than any sandwich you'd be tempted to grab from a fast food chain. The display counter had a lot of good looking pastry items, and the baking breads smelled fabulous. Service was friendly and fast and the goodies scrumptious. Will definitely return! read more

We got food delivered from Great Harvest maybe a year ago now. I'm just catching up on reviews because Yelp keeps leaving notifications for me to do so. It was good. We liked the food, it came promptly, and we got what we ordered. Today, that's all five star service is. Nothing more. They probably deserve a better review, but we don't remember too much more than what I wrote. It may have been a turkey sandwich, and I think there was something about the cookie being good. Just had their March special bread for St Patrick's and it is worthy of a James Beard Award. Just because this is a franchise does not mean it is not the best. I come here occasionally for fresh bread, but I recently left with an awkward feeling. I noticed there were new employees being mentored, but I felt that the employee helping me was being hovered over to an extreme degree. The employee assisting me was very much on top of things, yet someone was hovering awkwardly, especially toward the end of the transaction. I want to live in this bakery. No shade to Crumbl but when you see it in the shopping center, keep going (just past Safeway to discover this gem.) When I told the person at the counter that it was my first time, she cut me a huge slab of bread, and invited me to smear some house-made butter on it. Now that's a warm welcome! I ordered the turkey and chipotle sandwich and while I was waiting, had to smile when other workers greeted the next few customers by name, singing songs to them to playfully acknowledge their orders. They also serve sandwiches and soup. On Thursdays they offer some gluten free items. There is limited seating inside and a few tables outside if you wish to dine here. If you're looking for a bargain, they sell day old items for two dollars off and they are still delicious. If you're in the area its worth checking out. I come here often for lunch and I'm embarrassed to admit I've never left a review! This place is amazing, simple as that. This is a very small location, you fit maybe 8 people in there and there is no room to move about. I love the free slices of bread they offer, I will never turn one down. On the way to the Tillamook factory my cousins and I decided to stop for lunch. They were super excited for me to try Great Harvest and now I know why! First thing when we walked in, they offered us a sample of their delicious bread and tasty butters. One sweet and one savory. I chose the garlic butter and it was good! Their bread is made with whole ingredients and made fresh. They have a few different sandwich options, or you can build your own. Taven and I decided to make our own sandwiches and make the the "lunch box" meals with chips and a cookie! Taven got a chocolate chip one and I got a snickerdoodle. These sandwiches were fresh and so delicious! Piled high with crisp veggies, meats and cheeses. Pesto is a great addition to these sandwiches! I would say that my seven year old son can eat a ton and this sandwich was still huge for him...therefore I'd recommend half sandwiches for children for sure. All in all I'd say ten out of ten for freshness of not only the ingredients but also for that amazing soft bread. read more
