We found this place by mistake but it was worth it. It is tucked away near a small airport which, I loved watching the planes takeoff. Food was also simple yet delicious. If you're on your way to cannon beach from Portland it's worth the stop

Kinda hidden truck but definitely worth the treasure hunt to find what deliciousness awaits. Bread is so soft and moist and just hold the sandwich well and taste is devine. definitely recommend

Mini donuts, think they were called sneaky donuts :D

A real omelette will be eggs in the pan and whilst cooking put the meat and gobs of cheese in. Fold over half and let the omelette finish cooking capturing inside the egg mixture in one item with cheese melting inside. The coffee is not impressive. Self serve from a push top brewed an hour or more ago? The Peruvian coffee had no flavor strength. Unless you order espresso drinks. Lots of tables and seats. Some high tops and outdoor picnic tables. No real character unless you enjoy industrial settings, in an industrial park. I think they get a large crowd during the week business hours where everyone has to be back at work in 30-40 minutes. Don't recommend.

They are in an industrial area so I'm guessing a big chunk of their business comes from folks who work in that area. The café itself is simple, clean, and cozy, with a small outdoor seating area available. Their menu features a variety of sandwiches and burgers to choose from. On a previous visit, I tried the elk burger, which was excellent. This time, I ordered the roast beef sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The bread was lightly toasted, the portion of meat was generous, and the sandwich itself was hearty and satisfying. Service was quick and efficient, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch. While the space is modest, it is well-maintained and comfortable. They also operate a butcher shop next door, which has become one of my favorite places to purchase quality meats--I plan to review that separately in the future. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

So by the time I got out of there I was starved and really up for an outstanding breakfast. Sadly, none was to be found here. Like one of my fellow Yelpers, I stuck my head inside the doorway... was duly un-impressed, turned around and left. Hungry. I did grab one of their menus and while it was a full page of options there was really only one item: A breakfast sandwich. The options were the dozen or so ways that this overworked sandwich could be configured. Reminded me of those insanely overpriced "restaurants" at PDX. If I wanted a microwaved bagel and toppings I would have just gone to McDonalds... an establishment that I haven't eaten at in eons. Several immediate turnoffs. The dining are was quite large. Yet even though it was prime-time for area workers and folks to be looking for a late b'fast/early lunch there was only one young couple there. Nursing their cups of coffee. So I'm thinking this is NOT going to be the lots of great food at reasonable prices great dining secret that I was hoping to find. The other major red flag was a verbal greeting from some unseen person behind a counter 40 feet away. I looked in that direction and there was a sign "order here". HA! I gather there is no table service. Just one of those places where you do the ordering and are presented with a tip screen "asking" for a 30% gratuity.... a stupidity tax benefiting people who do pretty much nothing. Or likely more accurately, the workers never see a nickle of this surcharge. I avoid places like this like the plague. And it's why I almost always pay cash when I eat out these days. If I don't have the cash on me, which is often the case, I wait until I get home to eat. Perhaps this review is overly harsh especially since I didn't stay to actually sample their fare. But the menu looked unimpressive, the prices were rather high, there was not an obvious fan base eating there... the vibe I got from this place was that I would be overcharged for an unimpressive, unfulfilling "meal". And that there wouldn't even be someone coming by to top off my coffee now and then. For north of $20! Why put myself through that?

I have been looking for a decent breakfast/brunch place close by but so far no luck there. I am still recovering from renal failure so my mobility is severely limited. I travel mostly at the pleasure of the Veterans Transportation Service or Trimet Lyft. Today's Dr appointment finished up sooner than expected so I had some time to kill before the van returned to take me home. So I fired up my tablet and took a look on Yelp to see if there was anything of interest close by. Enter Insomnia Coffee. Lots of positive reviews. Right around the corner. So... off I go. I an a US Navy brownwater sailor. We drink coffee that tastes like coffee. No additives. None. Not even cream or (gasp) sugar. So when I told the barista [HA! The person who pours coffee into a cup] that i wanted a cup of coffee black I got this sort of deer in the headlights look. What? ...I'm sure she was thinking... no Madagascar cinnamon? no foaming goop? no stale crouton crumbs? no pumpkin pie spice? Ummmm seriously? People want their coffee to taste like pumpkin? Yikes. No Miss... just a cuppa Joe. Just like my first heart throb, Anna Mae Bullock....strong and black. And I have to say, insomnia delivered. Not a bad cup of coffee at all. Although I didn't really want to hang out there since it appeared that I had zero in common with anyone I saw there... hogging the comfortable looking chairs. So I had it in a paper cup, to go. Now I have a "thing" about drinking coffee from a large, ceramic mug.... I loathe tasting paper in my coffee and yes I can tell it's in a paper cup even blindfolded. but I digress. They did have a whole display area of decadent looking pastries and not the tiny, overpriced, bogus looking stuff you see at Starbucks. Not that i would ever go into a Starbucks even to use the rest room. They had several pies that made my mouth water and some gooey breakfast glazed things that would have seriously spiked my glucose. so I reluctantly passed. Perhaps next time :)
