Came here on a weekend and it was popping despite it being sort of hidden. Great vibes, love the eclectic, older cottage, vibe. There is seating in the back too so don't be intimidated if there aren't a ton of open tables when you first walk in. That being said it fills up pretty quick so I'd definitely recommend going early on a weekend. the food is sort of where it missed the mark for me. I had the Ham Breakfast sandwich and my wife had the croque madam. Of the two, I'd definitely recommend the latter over the former. The sandwich was sort of underwhelming. The eggs were indeed fluffy as described but -it was really one-note. The croque madam was pretty good though.
A delicious brunch spot off the highway! Parking isn't great but you can park and walk just watch the highway traffic. The staff is welcoming and pleasant, very helpful when ordering. You start by ordering at the counter, they give you a number and just pick anywhere to sit. I believe there's also additional seating in back if needed but I can imagine the porch being perfect on a nice day. We ordered the bacon breakfast sandwich and the Croque Monsieur with an extra egg and side of bacon. I recommend the iced white chocolate mocha. They also have some boozy beverages to choose from. Prices are average, perfect portions, food served hot and fresh. Don't forget a pastry for the road!
A friend and I dropped into this cute old house converted in a yummy breakfast/lunch spot. On the third Friday of the Month, they have an After Hours Event from 3 to 7 where you can order from the lunch menu and enjoy live music. We arrived around 4 and it was hopping. Very interesting music, not my jam, but everyone seemed excited and I loved my chicken pot pie and side salad. My companion had chicken and waffles that was so huge she had to take half of it home. Hot Honey and gravy were included and it was hilarious to see her licking the honey from her fingers, she said it was that good. I most definitely would love to drop by here for breakfast.
Second time here, this time around hubs came and they had all the GF foods! He really enjoyed his cinnamon roll. Food was great staff was super nice
It's become my tradition to ride my bike out here for a small breakfast every Sunday. Everyone is super friendly and the food is delicious. I normally grab some kind of pastry, a side of bacon and a coffee. This most recent time I had their biscuits and gravy. I don't like to toot my own horn, but biscuits and sausage gravy is one of those things I'm confident I can make better than any one I've tried in a restaurant. Theirs is the first I've really enjoyed more! Delicious biscuits and even better gravy. Next time I'll need to try it with a savory biscuit. You really can't go wrong with anything though, whether you're looking for savory or sweet there's surely something you'll enjoy!

It was intimidating at first, I sat down with my MIL and grabbed a menu, till a nice employee let us know how it works. You order at one of the cashiers and then they give you a number and get a table. I think for it being our first time and it seemed quite busy, that we were just overwhelmed and sat down. But overall the staff was friendly, the layout was cozy. We got some marionberry puff pastries to go! And it was absolutely delicious. The special we had was delicious as well! Now personally for me I have two little kids, I personally probably wouldn't bring them just because of how intimate the seating arrangement feels. But if you have well behaved kids, go for it!
So enjoyed our first ever visit here. We WILL be back. Everything about EVERYTHNG was delish! Love the nostalgic and cutesy decor, plus the service was fast and friendly. Food was so so fresh!

We came on a Sunday around lunchtime and it was bustling with activities and hungry diners. You walk into the front door and it has an instant cabin and homey feel. You order at the counter and walk through a giant case of beautiful pastries and they do have gluten-free options for pastries and bread for sandwiches for my gluten-free friend. Service was friendly and attentive when ordering and after they dropped off the food. I got the Reuben sandwich special and a cup of potato leek soup while my friend got the BLT. Of course we shared some lovely sweet treats including a cookie, Marionberry pufftart, and a white chocolate raspberry croissant muffin thing (sorry I forgot the name it was so good though!) The seating options are cramped in the main dining room but there were plenty of more tables in the back. High chairs and booster seats available and silverware and take out boxes on the shelves by the water stations. My Reuben was flavorful and well toasted and the soup was creamy and filling, my toddler ate half the bowl! It was the perfect amount of food with some sweet treats to take home to enjoy later. Come support this local business and feel the coziness and deliciously comforting food for yourself!
Such an adorable family owned cafe, 20 minutes south of Hillsboro, surrounded by farms and beautiful landscapes. Just the drive here alone was nice and scenic. My bestie and I wanted to have brunch before we head over to Oregon Heritage Farms so we decided to come here. Parking can be a little challenging due to limited space, but luckily we found a spot in their parking lot. Once inside, you stand in line to place your order and they give you a number to take to your table. It was a gorgeous Sunday and the sun was out which gave the space a very warm ambiance as light filtered through the windows. The tables had cute vases of flowers, ours had a Dahlia which is my favorite flower of course! They serve Lunch all day and Breakfast until 1pm, however they have a special menu served on Sat & Sun only. Since we were there on a Sunday, I ordered the Croque Madame and my friend ordered the Ham & Cheese Croissant. Both were exquisite and delightful, the eggs were perfect and runny, and both orders came with fresh fruit. Our lattes were also wonderful and just right. As we sat and ate our food, I couldn't help but take in the vibrant and warm atmosphere as families and friends gathered here to enjoy good food, hearing the laughters, and seeing smiles on everyone's faces. It just really says a lot about how this business focuses on creating delicious, comforting food and making it a place that is welcoming for all. It makes you want to come back for more and support their business. Thank you South Store staff for your wonderful service!

It is quite understandable why the South Shore Café has garnered such a high rating...it is that great. My wife and I went out to find Halloween pumpkins and decided to finally go here. I have driven by the restaurant so many times, but I am glad we went in. One orders at the counter...I had the Ham & Swiss Sandwich which contained greens, tomatoes, and pickled red onions. It was so good. My wife, who is vegetarian, had a kid grilled cheese. It didn't have enough cheese to her liking, but it was still good. We of course took home a Raspberry Lemon Poppy Seed Coffee Cake, and a Lemon Sugar Cookie. Both were perfect. Very friendly service and very clean. We will definitely come back and try other items on the menu. read more
My daughter found this delightful cafe for us to meet on Sunday. What a find! We got there at opening, and there was already a line! The welcome was very friendly when we arrived at the counter, and they kept the queue moving at a steady pace, so we hardly had any wait. You order at the counter, get a number, find a table, and they deliver your order to you. There are a decent number of tables inside (don't panic, check the back room for seats, too!), as well as several outside on the wraparound porch. The whole converted country house is adorable, inside and out! South Store Cafe radiates a rustic-chic, inviting atmosphere. They have a fairly comprehensive breakfast-and-lunch menu, but they also have two enclosed pastry cases chock-full of sweet and savory goodies sure to please any palate. I thought I knew what I wanted until I saw that case! In the end, I got the sausage and mushroom strata with a homemade cardamom syrup latte, all of which was delicious! It's a fabulous gem tucked in the country, and I can't wait to return. read more

This is a great cafe but a little chaotic. The menus are in a box and it says to check the board for specials. Problem is the boards are behind the order counter so you can't see them until you go to order. The order takers are friendly and patient. You get an order number and find a place to sit- either inside (very "cozy") or outside. We chose outside as there was less people. I had the chicken salad and he had the ham and Swiss. Both had too much greens for our taste. We split a Bloody Mary that was very good but came with a dried out artichoke heart. Would probably come back if in the area again but would also split the sandwich as we both ended up taking 1/2 of ours home. read more

Great food, friendly service in a colorfully charming converted house. Prices are great with filling sandwiches. The parking lot fills up quickly and we didn't want to risk getting a ticket parking on the road. Luckily a spot opened up on our second loop of the lot. It's counter style dining. We beat a Sunday rush around 11. Was distracted by the pastry cases as I tried to look over the menu. The employee was patient with our first timer questions and refreshingly honest in giving her opinion about one of the pastries I was considering. Heard the pastries made in house are excellent here. The popular **Pecan Roll is very good. Fresh pecans, sweet but not overly. Light dough, too. **Peach streusel - Amazing fresh peach flavor. Overall it could be a little sweeter for me. **Passionfruit tart - Also good and flaky, decorated with a fresh flower. **Mushroom cheese pastry - great, packed with flavorful earthy mushrooms. It was served room temperature, not heated up, I should have asked them to but I didn't want to wait and it was still delicious. My Mom enjoyed her **Avocado-Tomato Breakfast Sandwich. Stuffed with piping hot eggs. Came with a side of fruit slices. ** Bacon, Egg & Cheddar Breakfast Croissant - Whoa! Big and satisfying. His plate was eye candy. Came with side of various fruit slices. My cousin also got a sandwich to go. Got a pomegranate lemonade, based on high praise from another Yelper. I could only taste the pomegranate, would get coffee next time. Two dining rooms inside. Small patio in the back. Must be popular with tourists as there's cool world map near the bathrooms for pins marking where customers came from. Highly recommend this place when it's not crowded. We have been wanting to stop here and finally did. This place is an old store turned restaurant. It is incredible and potentially my new favorite breakfast spot in the area. You order at the counter, where they sell pastries, drinks, and breakfast and lunch options. They offer a daily soup and wrap option, which is marked on a chalkboard behind the counter. The strata was out of this world and the portion size was just right. They have a great Bloody Mary and latte selection. We took a pecan roll and a savory danish home for the next morning and loved them as well. The parking lot is bit tight but they know what they're doing with how it's plotted out. Seating inside may seem tight but there is additional seating in the back of the store you can take advantage of. Either way, I'd suggest coming outside of "peak" dining hours for a less busy experience. read more

South Store is so charming! It's very busy so be patient with parking and ordering. I had the avocado toast and the way they cook their eggs is so interesting and fluffy. Everything was fresh and served very hot. They have yummy pastries to take home as well. The vibe inside is very homey. I very much recommend this restaurant. It's also in a very beautiful area. read more

Food was excellent (Potato Leek quiche, tomato avocado breakfast sandwich, pastries). Homemade jam was awesome. In a cool old house. Across from Smiths Berry Barn, another nostalgic store/farm. Enjoy the countryside! read more

Such a great find! Doing Open Studios in Yamhill County today with a friend who knew about this a we were starving so we stopped in. So glad we did. Their sandwiches were soooo good! We couldn't decide so agreed to split the South Store club and the meatloaf sandwich. Both were grilled and it is hard to say which was better because both were so delicious! Felt like a family owned place. Service was friendly and fast. The facility was clean and country cutesy. Oil cloth table cloths and a cute jumble of chairs. Check it out!! read more

We stopped by this local restaurant for lunch and were so impressed! The staff were so kind and made quick and comfortable conversation. I got a mocha latte, turkey and plum chutney sandwich, and chocolate hazelnut brownie to go for later. - the sandwich was delicious! the sweet chutney paired well with the more savory ingredients, portion was also great - latte was comforting and had a strong espresso flavor - the brownie was gooey and had a great crunch from the hazelnuts - the restaurant also had to go bags and extra utensils! read more
We arrived shortly before 2pm on a Friday afternoon and ordered at the counter. The person at the register was super welcoming & friendly. We could tell it has been a busy day because most of the freshly baked pastries were sold out. We considered getting the last pecan roll, but successfully resisted the temptation. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich & a BLT. Then we grabbed a seat inside and helped ourselves to some still water while looking around at the interior of the restaurant which is definitely old, but has maintained its original charm. Our food took about 10 minutes to be delivered to our table. Both of our sandwiches were good but heavy on the greens which isn't a complaint because I love fresh lettuce. Instead of being overly stuffed I felt satisfied with my meal and ready to take on the rest of my day. read more
Cruising up (and out as i. way out in the country) you can't help falling for this super-cute, pretty cafe without even eating the food. I wanted to complain about something, but dang it all, there is NOTHING. Ordering at the counter goes quickly and pleasantly. You have a few minutes to drool over the bakery case. Dreamy. For sugar eaters: crisp, cobbler, giant cookies, turnover, pecan bun, tons of options! For a diabetic trying to be good, some excellent savory options. I ordered the savory biscuit which was loaded with scallions, jalapeños chopped fine, cheese, herbs. Tender crumb, baby! For my main, veggie quiche of the day: sun-dried tomato, caramelized onion, spinach (I think?) and cheesy (provolone?) layer under the egg layer. Largest piece of quiche I have ever received at a restaurant. Crust was mostly flaky. The edges were a bit hard but I like that personally. Tasted great! Comes with small piece of toast and small slices of orange, pineapple and something else, can't recall. Watermelon?? Drinks came out as soon as we sat ourselves outside (cute porch area! I had never seen an apple tree trained to live in a window box along the railing. Charming!) Food came out quickly. Even the servers look like they belong there! Efficient service, not chatty or particularly friendly. Didn't bother me. The place on a Sunday is nonstop. They are dong their jobs and keeping things moving. Go across the street after finishing and feed the cute goats over there! Nothing to do with the restaurant that I am aware; it's just fun. read more
I was visiting and my sister brought me to this cute cafe for lunch. Such an adorable place! The service was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the special, a southwest turkey sandwich. It was HUGE, filled with turkey, avocado, lettuce and tomato. They had an amazing selection of cookies and pastries to choose from as well. read more

Great little breakfast and lunch spot off the beaten path. I've passed by this place numerous times on my way to Newberg but never at the right time to stop. Today I met my friend for breakfast and had a lovely time catching up over a egg, ham and cheese croissant with Béchamel sauce. We ordered a pastry to go from the delicious choice of fresh pastries in the case as well. We enjoyed our tasty coffee as we chatted and caught up on what's been happening in our lives. This quaint spot has a small daily menu and a weekend menu to choose from. Friendly service and a small parking lot directly across from Smiths Berry Farm. Definitely will visit here again if the timing works out. read more
