Ordered a scone to go with it, and it was also very good. They aren't made in-house, but whomever they get them from does a very good job. It was a very delicious scone. Staff was nice and answered all my questions. They also have regular food "provisions" and a very good selection of whiskeys if that's your thing. Only issue is that at the time of this writing their bathroom was out of order. They directed you to the library, or the port-a-potty outside. I'd choose the library. This place is the coziest! I made the trek from Happy Valley to Sherwood and it was well worth it. I ordered an iced vanilla matcha and my boyfriend tried the vanilla bourbon latte. Neither of us were disappointed, but the bourbon latte was truly incredible. We (unintentionally) came on the day of a huge parade. The line was out the door, but the staff handled it well and kept things running smoothly. We hid out upstairs on a comfy couch and enjoyed the quiet retreat from all the hustle and bustle below. The prices are a bit steep, but they make quality drinks and provide a comfortable spot to linger. I'm sure I'll be making the journey to Symposium again in no time. read more

Went here for the first time last weekend and it was absolutely lovely. I got a black coffee with salted caramel syrup added in, and my partner got a dirty chai! We also got the BLTA to share. Food-wise everything was great. We are coffee LOVERS and the coffee here is very good. The dirty chai was very well spiced and just delicious. The BLTA likewise did not disappoint!! This place is unique in that it has an upstairs space. We came to study and we got a bunch done. All around were other people getting work done, and some groups just chatting and enjoying themselves. Throughout our time here people also congregated outside under the patio, chatting (even though it was pouring!!) Overall I picked up a cozy community vibe at this coffee shop. Finding non-chains in this area seems to be a struggle so I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this place, which is less than 5 minutes from my Pilates Studio. It oozes charm. It is obvious it used to be a home that has since been converted into a coffee shop, but they did such a great job. We sat upstairs, which had overstuffed arm chairs, and a couch, along with a few tables. I enjoyed the wood work that matched the stairway leading up to the second level. I had a salted Carmel latte, with a raspberry scone. They make their own caramel syrup, and the scone was stuffed with a generous amount of rasperries. Both were delicious, and I am typically not a scone fan, so that is saying a lot. I noticed some other Yelpers commenting on the lavender latte, so my plan is to try that along with the boozy drinks, when I am not on my way to work. read more

I love a particular latte at this coffee shop- the lavender latte. It is pure perfection. There are other shops who may serve this same kind, but theirs is amazing. Cold or hot every drop makes me smile. I just feel like it's happiness in a cup. I recently went there and was pleasantly surprised that there is a whiskey bar! Another favorite beverage of mine. It is the cutest spot on Main Street. There are a few outdoor spots for sitting and sipping if that is more comfortable for you. The interior has a lot of space. What a treasure to stumble upon in Sherwood! Finding a place that makes a traditional cortado outside of a big city coffee house is rare and when they make that cortado perfectly... well, I can tell you it's a wonderful delight to find. I arrived just shortly before closing time but they still made the cortado in the traditional glass cup (great customer service!) and for a snack, I chose the only baked good left in their bakery case which was a slice of apricot ginger pecan bread. Very pretentious and snobby person at the register. Coffee is average but super expensive. My drink, 20 oz Almond milk mocha, if I could order it, would cost $9.25 here. At my favorite coffee cart, Cravings PDX it costs $5.75. They don't even do drinks bigger than 16oz here. My Mocha doesn't even taste like chocolate. BEST lavender latte I've ever had. It was absolute perfection! Came by on a Thursday morning and it was quite busy. I ended up getting my drink togo but there's plenty of seating inside and outside plus an upstairs. The atmosphere here is very laid back and I love the "home-y" feel. I've always gone to the Tigard location, but decided to give the Sherwood one a try yesterday. This location was basically located in the center of the Sherwood school district. Like the Tigard location, this symposium was also quaint and small. Gives me an old coffee shop meets bookstore vibe. No high ceilings or fancy mason jar lights here though (if you care about aesthetics for the gram). Ceilings and lights aside, what I do appreciate about this location is additional seating available upstairs. Whenever I'm at the Tigard location, I always feel like I have to compete with people just to get a parking spot (it's tiny) or a table inside. But here, it's no issue and it's great. Coffee wise, they offer the staples with some unique selections, such as their lavender latte, which everyone raves about, along with cardamon latte and chili mocha. I've had the lavender latte before, and it is indeed good. They also have alternative milk options (soy/oat/hazelnut/hemp) for anyone who's lactose free, but for a dollar extra. For this trip, I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk. It was okay, a little bit thick, can taste bits of the matcha powder clumped together (not well mixed) but I'm not that picky. Good enough to appease my matcha craving for the day. read more

They have three types of Blantons, and I have only been able to find ONE type SOMETIMES where I'm from. I sat upstairs and the seats that I sat in were SUPER comfortable.
