After trying 3 different coffee shoppes in Cannon Beach, Oregon, I discovered my go-to coffee shoppe (Elk Creek), for what has turned out to be my go-to coffee from Caravan Coffee. I was on the hunt for a low acidic rich flavored coffee and then I was introduced to Caravan's Sidecar and Northstar (decaf) coffee. I ordered 1lb each to start. Love this place! It's tucked out of the way but is still very popular and for good reason. The coffee shop is small with no indoor seating but there is ample outdoor seating on the heated patio. The coffee and espresso is smooth and flavorful. Their flavored lattes, like the maple cardamom, is nicely balanced and not overly sugary and sweet. Rating mainly the beans. Picked up some Ethiopian Guji single origin. They've quickly become a favorite, beating out a couple different roasts from Cerebus in Jacksonville and rivaling Elevator's Ground Floor. The cafe itself got a cup of an Indonesian they had on drip. It was way too hot. I was there 10min after opening, so maybe they brew it hot if it cools down over the morning. We called caravan coffee in Newberg 23 times over 1 1/2 weeks!! No answers, but left 23 messages to 4 different ppl including Matt, aswell as tiffany the general manager aswell as the owner! Not 1 return phone call!! As a member of the Newberg community of 53 yrs we feel very disrespected, and as ppl who order your coffee for our coffee shop aswell as our church, we feel let down.we will be taking our business else where!!!! To be disrespected and for caravan coffee to not have the courtesy to call us back is disgraceful and un business like!! We welcomed caravan coffee in to our town, now we believe it's time for them to leave!!! 5 years ago I asked Yelp CM Matt E. for names of local small businesses that may be interested in making a donation toward a local non-profit's yearly auction. Pete Miller, the owner and founder of Caravan Coffee answered the phone, and was more than happy to provide a donation. He went the extra mile and made sure it was delivered to us, and delivered the week of the auction in order to be fresh as possible. What an amazing person and business owner! I purchased espresso beans for our own use as well, as we are legit coffee snobs armed with a Jura Z8 machine. 5 years later, we are still having our beans delivered to our home by Caravan. It's an absolutely spectacular product! Our guests always rave how exceptional our espresso is. The hubby and I start each day with at least a double espresso, and man is it a great treat each and every day. We have had 4 different types of their whole bean roast. All four were absolutely amazing and just as their bag described. One of our visits we ordered two lattes!! They were on the more expense side of the spectrum but they were absolutely delicious and very well made. The customer service there was absolutely amazing. Adorable little coffee treasure. My first time here and it's so cute. A bit chilly to sit outside but very nice outside seating. The coffee is amazing (I ordered a 12 oz vanilla latte). This is one of my favorite businesses ever, of any kind, seriously. They roast and sell their beans in the storefront, along with other relevant accessories. They have a coffee club, similar to a wine club (my Mom and I are both members) that is quickly gaining popularity. They specialize in pour-overs, where each cup is made fresh in single servings. As a budding hobbyist roaster, I purchase green beans by the pound in their storefront. The roaster/expert is Paul, he is from New Zealand. He leads the Friday cupping classes, which are always the perfect blend of humorous and educational. Pete, who I think is the co owner is active in the Newberg community I first met while he was giving out samples at Tunes on Tuesday, a summer concert series. Pete was so genuine and excited about sharing good coffee I was compelled to go in shortly after. I was given a spur of the moment tour by Paul and was immediately in love with this unique business. Drop in, grab a cup of coffee or attend the cupping class (or both) and take a bag home. We had our first taste of Caravan coffee from the B&B we stayed in at Newberg. My Bf loved it so much we bought a bag from the innkeeper. As we ran low on the 1 bag we bought, I decided to check out Caravan's website and admired their commitment to making great coffee, the community and the source of their coffee. Now we are part of their coffee club and enjoy their outstanding coffee in California. We can't wait to go back to Oregon, but for now we are loving their coffee every morning. My husband and I are coffee snobs. We were searching for good Coffee (besides Dutch Brothers) on our recent Oregon trip and luckily came across Caravan. We loved it so much we came back here a couple of times and bought some bags of coffee. Caravan Coffee roasts its own beans which are responsibly sourced. In their tasting room, you can taste their coffee in different forms - Espresso, pour-over, etc. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to suggest the best bean for the type of coffee we wanted. I preferred the pour-over here. The tasting room is very small. It is a small storefront and behind is the large production area. I wish I could by Caravan coffee beans in Austin, Texas! read more

Good quality roaster! I like that they do not "over-roast" the beans and deliver the full Viennese type flavor experience. They are my go-to place for good whole bean and ground coffee and occasional classes. Cannot recommend more highly! With staff this friendly and espresso this good, I'm a loyal customer for life. I have been coming here for nearly a year and can say hands down this is the best espresso I've ever had. My regular drink is a large latte and every time it's silky smooth, rich, and all of the complex flavors from the espresso are deliciously displayed. I've started purchasing my beans from them as well, Capstone is my favorite roast. I can't recommend them highly enough for either beans or fresh coffee. Super rad coffee shop in a hidden, secluded area. Definitely a little gold mine. They have a stellar roasting facility in the same building that you can see through a window from the counter. It's a small, quaint shop, not ideal for large groups, but a fantastic spot for getting stuff done or meeting a friend over some good coffee. They have lots of single origin coffees available, and the baristas are knowledgeable and personable. Also the shop just has a brilliant setup. So so beautiful. Probably the one place in Newberg that's doing coffee the best. Way to go! read more

An absolute gem in Newberg, Caravan serves as a fantastic destination for top notch coffee and as a clutch stop for morning caffeination before wine tasting in the Willamette Valley. The staff here were very welcoming and helpful in selecting beans to bring back home. Our pour overs via Chemex were superbly done and ended up being complimentary as one is included for each bag of beans purchased. My wife went to college in Newberg and didn't know about this spot after it popped up on Yelp. Odd location but makes it a great out of the bustle spot. They gave us free samples of nitro, drip, and cold brew. All were amazing! Not a lot of sitting area but the vibe inside was chic. If they expanded the sitting area I would definitely work from there on a sunny afternoon. Coffee was delicious and we bought a nitro to go and their sidecar blend. We will be back. We were headed down to Newberg to wine taste and I was in desperate need of some caffeine. I felt like we had entered a coffee wasteland, where my only option would be Starbucks, but a quick yelp search pointed us to Caravan. Its a bit off the main drag and a pretty random location. I didn't see any places to sit so looks like more of a to go kind of place. My nitro cold brew was absolutely delicious. No milk or sugar needed (just the way I like my cold brew). I ended up buying some whole beans and I can't wait to try them out. The shop itself is super cool inside and impeccably clean. Everytime we head down here I will definitely be back and really couldn't recommend this place more. read more

Although this coffee roaster is located outside of the quaint downtown area of Newberg, it is not to be missed if you're in town and looking for some really good pour over style coffee. The minimalist storefront is a no frills counter with two beans offered each day. They had a cold brew nitro coffee to taste. The lovely woman in the shop offered us a hot drink of the coffee fruit skin steeped in water-drinks like a caffeinated tea with a unique coffee skin taste. You won't find a multiple of drink offerings here. They have some cream, a few nondairy options on request and sugar. No steamed milk option so you're out of luck if you're looking for an au lait. This is coffee in its purest form. They are clearly a roasting plant first and the sale of individual drinks is merely a convenience for folks looking for beans by the bag. Regardless, their beans, knowledge of coffee and roasting and brewing methods make this joint really special. Glad we stopped by on our way out of town. read more
