Adorable little coffee shop on a quiet street in the brewers block area of Mac. Service is always friendly and prompt. The main reason I go is for the quality roasted coffee. In my opinion they have the best well balanced espresso latte in town. The bonus: they roast their own beans and you can buy them by the bag. I order a vanilla latte which is consistently delicious and never over sweetened. To me it's important to taste all ingredients equally: bold coffee, vanilla, and steamed milk. Other "coffee" shops have no consistency and tend to over steam the milk or add too much sweetener. The shop has a cozy, welcoming feel with plenty of seating. It's a great place to relax or get some work done. While the coffee is the main draw, they also offer a selection of tasty, locally-made pastries which are a great complement to the drinks. The coffee was delicious. We just got a basic vanilla latte and a pumpkin spice buttermilk coffee. On a chill October day, this hit the spot. We also had a pear muffin. The service and the ambiance of the location was what you'd expect from a coffee place. A larger coffee cup would be awesome, but that's the only gripe. read more

Flag & Wire Coffee is what I hear to be the best, local coffee in the town of McMinnville. Located in the Grain Station in downtown McMinnville, it's worth checking out while in the area. Just expect to spend a pretty penny. My partner and I visited Flag & Wire Coffee on a Sunday morning and the place wasn't too busy, with some customers hanging outside on the patio on a sunny day. They share the space next to a brewery in the Grain Station, so much of the crowd is from that business, but it's quiet enough to do your own thing, including working on a laptop, which I saw some people do here. The menu features all the basics, and they sell their local coffee and some merch in store. I ordered an iced dirty chai latte and my drink was nearly eight bucks! Crazy! They charge $3.50 for a shot of espresso. The coffee was good, but I don't know about it being worth $3.50 per shot, sheesh. Dirty chai latte was solid though. Great roaster, comfortable coffee shop, and great espresso drinks. I had an espresso and a cortado during my visit, and my friend had a lavender latte that smelled awesome (and she said was great). The espresso was very flavorful--ripe berries and chocolate, and those same flavors came through with some added sweetness in the cortado. They had a great selection of beans available for purchase, and some nice looking pastries that we were too full to try. This place is awesome. I only learned of it because our Airbnb had Flag & Wire coffee available for us in the morning and I fell in love after one sip. Fast forward to my visit at the coffeeshop, where I knew I wanted to buy a bag as a souvenir and a nice man came around to help when he saw me perusing. I settled on the benevolence blend and he even ground it for me :) While I was there, I also ordered a latte and it was maybe one of the best I've ever had. I sat outside in their patio area with a book while I enjoyed my drink, and it was very comfortable. If I lived in the area, this would 100% be my go-to coffeeshop. This is the real deal right here. Excellent espresso served by unpretentious baristas. Worth the few block trek to the outskirts of the downtown core. Recommend the Woodsman (maple latte) which was not too sweet and oh so tasty. The dirty chai and the oat latte were also perfect. There's a pub next door I wish they didn't share space with because I prefer my coffee without country music and the smell of burgers, but the mornings are nice and quiet both inside and on their patio. Food options are minimal, but we grabbed pastries from Red Fox Bakery on our way over to enjoy with our coffees. This would be my go-to. It appears locals would agree. read more

What a yummy coffee. They have unique flavors you can add to your lattes. I got a cardamom latte and it was so delicious. Their espresso on its own is smooth and rich with a perfect hit of nuttiness that really compliments nut milks without being overpowering. Wow, this place will be our new go-to in McMinnville! The lattes are amazing, and the barista is SO nice. They have a cool flow chart menu, extremely fair prices, and they even give you a discount if you bring in your own reusable cups. They location is easy to find, has ample parking, and has industrial inspired decor. I've been buying the beans from Mud River Roasting at the McMinnville farmer's market for years, and now they have this coffee shop in the Grainary District in Mac, yay!
