It is bigger than you'd expect upon walking in and the seating areas are pretty fairly spaced out which I appreciated. One thing I saw and really loved is they offer discounts for the local university students upon showing their IDs. Coming from someone who was always in search of cafes on a college student budget this would've been a common place for me. Highly recommend! It's a cute spot, watch your step at the front door. The inside is simple and cozy.... Perfect for a coffee date! Staff is very friendly, food was made from scratch and worth the wait. Coffee didn't taste burnt or too sweet. I love the atmosphere and the fun mugs you get hot beverages in when you are there to stay a while. They have gluten free items, scones, bagels, sandwiches. I was thinking my breakfast burrito looked small but it was actually the perfect amount. There's cute Knick knacks for sale, coffee cat flare, towels, crochet chickens and fun earrings. Employees were super nice, helpful, and patient as we decided what we wanted. I appreciate that the barista warned us that most drinks were very sweet but that we could adjust the sweetness. I got an iced vanilla latte with half the sweetness and it was perfect. My husband liked his black iced coffee. We also got breakfast burritos with a side of salsa. Our kids shared a cheese and egg bagel, and a triple berry cinnamon roll. All delicious. Cute little gift/trinket shop area to browse while waiting. Not just good real good. Drink it plain good. A rare find. The hours are now stable. It was fluctuating a little bit and often closed. Staffing seems to have been resolved. They greet you as you enter. Plenty of seating and private conversation areas. Quiet over all. Somer outdoor seating also for when the weather allows. They offer some premade baked goods. Bagels and breakfast burrito and plates Nothing too fancy and again they are about Coffee the food is okay if needed. Some different schwag available if you are so inclined. I really love everything about this place! The rich interior makes way for lots of great areas to sit and read a book or catch up with friends. On warm days, they have a few tables outside to enjoy your coffee and some good food. The breakfast food is perfect size and yummy and they offer vegetarian options which is amazing. Friendly staff. Nice ambience - it felt like stepping into a very welcoming home where you can stay & relax for awhile. My decaf latte was delicious. The sandwich was good but the sourdough bread was somewhere between fresh & slightly toasted, so it was kinda like stale bread. I would definitely go back though & just ask for it to be more toasted. Before understanding the arduous task of wine tasting on these beautiful summer days I need to make sure I get my head straight and my body pumpied. The ritual has long been to hit the drive through for a triple shot mocha and when it's hot, make that an iced mocha. They always turn the order around quickly and perfectly executed. Great service, delicious coffee, and scrumptious food! I ordered a latte and Turkey sandwich to go after seeing a FB post that they had spinach Asiago bagels. Naturally I got my sandwich on that bagel. It does come with chips (or a side salad), but I forgot to pick up a bag. The sandwich was amazing on its own - The first bite was so delicious that I forgot to add any mustard or mayo to it. LOL. The place had a cute eclectic vibe. New to the area and decided to pop in for some coffee and treats. Staff was friendly and loved the ambiance and vibe. Ordered a Caramel Macchiato, the Breakfast Bowl and a Maple Pecan Scone (for something sweet later!) The Caramel Macchiato was, by far, the best I have had, just right and not too overly sweet. The Breakfast "Bowl" was served on a small plate/saucer (no big deal) but was quite small for 2 eggs, ham, bacon, onions, peppers and cheddar cheese (didn't see any cheese?) and for $7.50. The scone I had later was delightful. Four stars for the value of the "bowl" but I'll be back (if only for the coffee!) and if I'm craving food, I'll just look to spend 50 cents more and get the breakfast burrito. Terrible service when we came in today around 11:30am. The woman at the register didn't say hello, never asked what we wanted to order and looked miserable. Can't believe how rude she was at such a cute shop with great reviews. We wanted to stay and work on our computers for a couple of hours but ended up grabbing the scramble plate and a coffee and leaving. Hidden just around the corner from Newberg's main drag, Coffee Cat is a great little find. It was pleasantly uncrowded on a Sunday morning, and we were accommodated right away by a super friendly server. After ordering our coffees and a bagel breakfast sandwich, we settled into the gliding sofa in the back room where I watched the barista preparing our drinks with the focus of a surgeon. And ultimately all his effort was evident in his creations, as my husband and I both commented on how really good our coffees were. The bagel sandwich was, well, a bagel sandwich -- nothing inspired, but plenty good. Let's be honest, to make a great bagel sandwich, you must start with a great bagel, and this one was simply good, not great. But the great coffee tipped the balance. If, like us, you're looking for a really good cup of coffee and a relaxing, friendly atmosphere, might I suggest you skip the crowds at Red Hills Market and enjoy the peace and serenity and friendly service at Coffee Cat. We found this place on Yelp when we were in town visiting for a wedding. Not being familiar with the area or anything, this place was a godsend. We really wanted to go to a local place for a good early morning breakfast and were so happy to find Coffee Cat Coffeehouse. From walking in here, you can tell the locals love it. Almost everyone that walked in, the cashier greeted by first name! It was adorable and instantly I wanted to be a regular (even though it was physically impossible since we were only visiting the area for a few days). All the coffee is served in unique mugs so you really feel like you're at a friend's house. The atmosphere of the coffeehouse is also the same where you truly feel at home. All the chairs are different and don't match the tables. It's adorable! Probably one of our favorite aspects of this place was the map where you stick a pin in where you're from. It was so cool to see all the unique places people came from. I gladly put mine in the spot for Las Vegas! The food was also outstanding. I had a cinnamon roll which I believe they made fresh there every day. It was delicious! read more

Despite the owner's response to my prior review, it is nowhere near 72 degrees inside - it is freezing in here and I don't feel comfortable complaining so I think I will need to take my business elsewhere. Very sad, cute place, but can't enjoy it while I'm so cold. All of the staff members are wearing long-sleeved sweatshirts, so apparently they are also cold. read more

Coffee Cat's new owner has done an excellent job of significantly improving product quality, service, and the shops environment. They're now serving Flag & Wire coffee which is one of the best micro-roasters in the greater Portland area. Coffee Cat is currently serving the highest quality beans among coffee shops in the Newberg area. Baristas have done an excellent job of providing consistently good lattes and other beverages. Each of the staff members has exhibited naturally warm, friendly, and excellent service. Their cinnamon roll creations are incredible. Most recently, the owner started baking pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls and they're outstanding. They also make delicious triple berry and traditional rolls. The owner appears to regularly experiment with new culinary ideas and so far they've worked out for our benefit. Coffee Cat has also been making some great sandwiches as well. My fav thus far has been the turkey cranberry. The space itself has been decluttered from the previous set up, and they now have better seating options available with a nice mix of tables, comfortable couches and chairs, even a large meeting space off to the side for groups. Thankfully, they also offer WiFi for customers. Recent changes in the last quarter have propelled the growing business to the forefront of Newberg's coffee scene. I'm excited to watch the owner and staff continue to grow in positive directions. read more

Coffee cat is now under new management and is amazing now. We have been in a few times for coffee now and we love their coffee cubes! No one else around does it. We also got their breakfast bagels which are wonderful. The owner Tiffany even cooked the egg on the spot when we ordered and it didn't take long at all. The feel of this place is also amazing. Chapters and Coffee Cottage seem to be popular among the college kids but that also means sitting is hard to find. There are plenty of tables, chairs and nooks in coffee cat for everyone. Next time I have to work from home and want a get out of the house I will absolutely head over to Coffee cat. read more
