The coffee tastes burnt, it's gross. Next time, I would just go to Dutch bros if needing a drive through spot. I got an iced almond milk latte and when receiving it, I was relieved to see the color-it looked like there wasn't too much milk, but taking the first sip all I tasted was burnt beans. Time to clean the espresso machine. No wonder the employee was giving a concerned tone when she asked "no flavor?", yikes. The customer service was fine, no issue. read more

Just moved back to McMinnville, OR after being away 6 months. I couldn't wait to have coffee from my favorite coffee shop. Which I used to go visit 2x daily 5 days a week. Sadly, I had really bad experience. The girl working was extremely rude and passive. My almond milk latte was 3/4 full and burnt. I think it's time for me to realize this coffee shop is no longer the same. **To the owner (who I've met) the girl was working around 4:30PM 3/24- medium blonde hair. Maybe she just needs some direction on customer service and making a proper latte. Its honestly a giant let down not being able to go back after this. read more

We used to go to Gold Rush quite a bit and typically get the same drinks. We decided to go today around 6:30pm and got an Oreo Freeze and a Blue Raspberry/Watermelon Red Bull. We feel as though both drinks were not made the way we usually get them. Because I believe drinks should be made consistently for the business's sake, I wanted to write a review. I'm not saying the drinks were terrible, I just believe they were not made the way the girls who have worked there longer make them. The Oreo freeze seemed to have way too much chocolate and the Red Bull looks and tastes like it has 4-5 shots of flavoring. I am not writing this post to get the girl working into trouble, but for a coaching opportunity for the manager. We of course will continue to go because the drinks are often delicious, but I now feel I have to tell them exactly what to put into my drink when I order making me feel like I am being rude by doing so. read more

Absolutely positively the best cup of joe in town.They prepare my blended white chocolate with four shots to perfection every time. Very professional and friendly staff as well. So apparently, every cute boy in the entire town has been hired to work at this coffee shop! Every time I come here there's somebody adorable working at the window. They make great recommendations on new coffee drinks. Today I am having a dirty chai with coconut flavoring. It is excellent. I also really enjoy the breakfast sandwiches here, they are super high-quality. The croissant sandwich with Canadian bacon is exceptional and the breakfast French toast bagel is also really good. I'm sure it's not that great for my waistline, but whatever, it makes me happy. There's a very long wait every time because there are so many people who want to go here, probably for the eye candy! So just get ready for a bit of a wait. It's a process and a journey. :) Definitely worth it. read more

So yeah, probably won't be back. I really want to like this place, and have been coming for a couple of years now so it's a shame it didn't work out but the problem is that the quality of the coffee is way too inconsistent. What keeps drawing me back is that once in a good while, when the coffee is made right, it's very good. However, it seems like none of the baristas but one actually know how to make the drinks because often when I get my drink it has no flavor in it, tastes pretty much like hot water and milk. I've tried ordering add ons as a safeguard against this, but often times they forget those too. There's too many good coffee joints in this town whose baristas actually know how to make the drinks to waste your money here. read more

Went to Gold Rush for the first time today. It is a new business in town. The service was great, and the staff already seem to be very experienced. My wife and children ordered smoothies, and when they say it uses real fruit, they are totally serious. It was pure and amazing. I ordered a Breve and was impressed as well. Oh, if you are interested in a giant pretzel or a pizza that's always an option too. 5 stars in my book. read more

Was craving a bagel, and my man had finished the milk in our fridge...again...so I ventured out. I crossed my fingers this new (to me) spot would come through, and they did! Friendly staff, lovely coffee, fresh Everything bagel (with extra cream cheese, of course), and I didn't even get have to step my still-in-my-pjs self out of my car. Saved my Sunday morning. I'm literally Yelping as I sit here because I am SO impressed. Admittedly, I came in here because of the name. Gold Rush anything is usually pretty cool. I was pleasantly surprised to find a lovely open space with exposed brick and lots of wood, with awesome art on the walls. The staff was very friendly, and made us one of the best sandwiches I've ever had-- the Trieste. Italian bread, salami, pesto, tomato and mozzarella, all grilled up like a panini. The coffee is also delicious. I'm not a huge fan of artisan coffee, but this place has a great mild formula that's just right. I will definitely be back again and again!! read more

Had the worst customer service I have ever had from a coffee shop, has absolutely no selection of sugar free drinks & when we asked the barista about what she would recommend she seemed extremely put out. Then she only made us one drink when we ordered two & moved right along to the other customer on the other side of the kiosk, when the other worker was informed she forgot a drink for us she seemed even more irritated & pretty much shoved the drink into my hand. Oh, and both the drinks tasted like pure milk, no coffee flavor what so ever. read more

My husband and I were born and raised in Mac and loved the Banana Bulls from the old coffee shop at Bi-mart (before Dutch Bros) when we heard of Gold Rush hiring the lady that worked at the one that closed and that she brought the recipe of Banana Bulls with her to Gold Rush we were really excited! My husband and I have since relocated about 45 minutes away. Whenever we come into town we always go to Gold Rush for the Banana Bulls. (btw it's a $5 drink.) The only bummer is that every employee makes it different or doesn't know what we're talking about so we have to tell them. This last time we came in; they tasted terrible, and they were in smaller cups. It was not blended very well. We turned around and asked for them to be blended again and she made all new ones. But they didn't taste how they usually do. The Barista put way too much powder into it. Making a banana/Red Bull drink taste too much like powdered coffee. We probably won't be back. My tip for the owner/managers would be to make sure everyone is trained properly. Especially this day and age when people are such coffee snobs. You need to make sure your employees know what they're doing. read more

Today was my first and last visit to this coffee company. I ordered an iced green tea and the cup was 3/4 full of ice; 1/4 full of tea. We drove back to ask for a refill or some sort of compensation and were told that the cups are filled 1/2 full of ice and 1/2 full of drink and we couldn't have a refill or refund. We were told this while showing her the cup and the amount of ice. We also took a picture. So long Gold Rush! There's plenty of competition in this town with better customer service! read more

Asked for a hot blackberry mocha with whip and was handed a cold something. They remade it and when I asked if it had whip they said they don't do that. Now I get back to work and there's no blackberry in it at all. The worst service and mocha I have ever ordered. read more

I usually love this place! Coffee was great till the last few experiences I've had lately. Customer service was terrible. The girl was obviously training, and I'm very respectful to everyone but no hello, no smile, no nothing. Usually when you approach a customer you smile and say "what can I get for you today?", or "hi how's it going, do you know what you'd like to order?" This girl was straight faced, and very short with me. She stared at me until I told her what I wanted. There was another girl helping her, training I figured since she was confused about what I was ordering. I give grave to people in customer service, I know what it's like to work in the coffee world so usually I wouldn't leave a review like this at all. But customer service and respect is big with me. This isn't just once I've had a younger girl that works there be rude with me. Last time I had a younger girl make me a watered down americano that was terrible, and her attitude was too. I get we all have off days but this just keeps happening. There are a few older girls that have been super nice and make great coffees. Every time I go in it's some high school girl throwing together a coffee with horrible customer service skills. Want to give this place another try, but I think I'm going to wait awhile. read more
