While off to a rocky start, Grounded Table was a great dinner to wrap up our weekend in Willamette Valley. While our table wasn't ready when we entered at our reservation time, the staff quickly got us drinks that were then ready for us when our table was available shortly thereafter. The staff was super sweet and very helpful with the menu and dietary restrictions. For food, highly recommend the homemade cavatelli. The sage, butter, and crushed hazelnuts were the perfect combination you didn't know you needed. Decadent without going overboard. The half chicken seemed a little small, but was moist, had a great flavor, and was delicious. The whole trout was a beautiful combination of flavors and textures. Somewhat thin, but great combo with the ham hock and fried brussel sprout leaves. The Turkey schnitzel...wow. The breading on the turkey was light and crispy, combined with the marionberry agrodolce and vinegar dressing. Match made in heaven and highly would recommend. Definitely leave room for dessert -- the cookies and milk dessert was the elevated Oreos and milk you grew up having. Simple and fantastic. We ended our meal with some after dinner drinks to which the sommelier was incredibly helpful and kind, explaining what was available and the corresponding tasting notes. Great meal that more than made up for our delayed start. Would definitely come back.

[gluten free review] Here's the deal. Double cheeseburger, fries. Forget the gf bun- go lettuce instead. If your comrades are gluten eaters, they're going to go for it. The bun and all. The fried chicken is good if you're there on a mon/tues. DONT SKIP THE ROASTED VEGGIES. This is a winner every night. For those deserving of a sweet treat, the ice cream flavors are interesting and also delicious- but the real winner is the TRFO. even if you scrape some of the middle off and don't eat the cookie (gf-ish) they're worth it. Their line up of local and imported selections for wine are extensive. My favorites of the list are are Corallary bubbles, and Ken Wright Hirschy Pinot noir. Whether you're after a full dinner or you are just looking for a cocktail or brunch spot, humble spirit will be a favorite in McMinnville and continues to be a top of the list selection for me! Plus, this is always a great place for a relaxing night out or a date night - ambiance is flexible!

Located in Downtown McMinnville, this elegant, mildly upscale American restaurant oozes with Willamette Valley charm. McMinnville is in the heart of Oregon wine country, and sports a thriving downtown peppered with wineries, art and restaurants. Once inside, you will notice that the interior would work well as an art gallery. That vibe carries over to the food and service. Our waitress was charming and talkative (which we like), and she helped steer us to the right food. She also explained that the restaurant started from two regenerative farms, which we also like. We ordered coffee, the Corned Beef Hash, and the Dungeness Crab Benedict. Since the it arrives first, it is possible to guess at the quality of the food by how good the coffee is. In this case it was excellent. Expectations were high. The Hash: The corned beef was cut into chunks, not pulled apart like it normally is. It did not have the flavor you would normally expect, yet it was excellent and slightly crispy, with a baked egg in the center. Their house-made hot sauce goes well with it. The Benedict: Served on a crab cake instead of English muffin with greens over top, along with radish strips. The Hollandaise is delicate, and does not overpower the crab. All in all, it was an excellent meal. We plan to return when we are in the area.

Extraordinary brunch, food, service, and ambience triple winner, winner winner! Brunch or dinner! Ingredients produce and meat (hundred percent grass fed) sourced and organics from local affiliates, including. We were with friends everybody's food was scrumptious per their taste buds delight. We had the corned beef hash with potatoes and an egg with big chunks of corned beef, hash prepared in a way we have not had before that was awesome. Also, the Moroccan dish featured two poached eggs, floating in a sea of cabbage and tomato somewhat puréed with scrumptious aromatic Moroccan spices. Suggest a reservation and enjoy!

What an eclectic ambiance this restaurant has very minimalist, clean if I were drinking a nice Chardonnay I will say crip and fresh. We were greet by a very friendly hostess name sky and the wine director O'Malley , what pleasant hostess they are . We sat at Chris section, since we were first timers he explained the concept of the restaurant and dishes . We started with osetra caviar from tsar Nicoulat with accompaniment of crème fraiche and house made chips with herbs powder made out dehydrated herbs from the farm, amazingly fresh and crispy we pair it with Corollary sparkling rose , just what th Dr. recommended with the caviar!!!!!!! We continued with Heirloom beef tartare horse radish crème fraiche , and cured yolk from the farm , is so tasty and light with the wavy accent of the slight radish crème fraiche, perfect amount of radish like a delicate kiss . We continued our culinary journey with the smoked TRF pot pie, that refers to their farms name , that pot pie comes with biscuits house made , WOW comforting dish elevated for an unforgettable night at Grounded Table, I want that recipe , we also ordered the aged Rib stake , we choose a Pinot noir by glass 1789 from a winery that is not longer making wines but O'Malley had 2 cases of it, we were drinking and eating stories of scotch and the wine that we choose , how an amazing experience has been coming to this restaurant , smelling 1789 is like been in Burgundy smelling rose petals, lavender, AMAZING!!!!!!!!to finish we ordered their 3 desserts tries milk, chocolate hazelnut tart and their sticky pudding , I am crazy about desserts. While waiting I love how the whole team watches over the table, what a service and to define Grounded table is equal to hospitality from the back of the house to the front . I can't wait to come back , this is a place where you sit down and enjoy your dishes and the staff will take care of the rest !!!!!!!! What an Amazing culinary- dining experience was for us been in such a restaurant where they take care of the smallest details !!!!! I just wish an excellent future for this restaurant, where hospitality is define !!! Last but not least to the kitchen , I feel their pride and love in every single dish!!!!!! Makes me emotional to eat in a place where everyone is a professional !!!! See you , when we come back to Mcminville

Went to humble spirit and really enjoyed the food and service! We got the fresh and pickled vegetables to start which was FANTASTIC. The Ceasar salad was delish and unique as well. We shared the chicken, burger and the stuffed pasta and all were good but I think the chicken and burger stood out. Would definitely come back! The only kind of weird thing was they only have a 5 minute grace period. I feel like standard is 10-15 and especially at a place where parking isn't super easy 5 minutes is tough!

Our first visit to Humble Spirit was on a whim on a Friday. The restaurant is on the smaller side and they were full with reservations, but kindly offered a seat at the bar. We took it, and happily as their bar counter is absolutely stunning! I think it might quartz and while I normally prefer table seating, I'd happily imbibe in a meal at that gorgeous bar anytime. We've since returned several times and can wholeheartedly recommend anything in the menu. If you need somewhere to start, though, the cheeseburger (which sure, might sound a little boring) is my husband's favorite and sure to please anyone, not to mention the fries are thin, crispy, and the epitome of fry perfection. My favorite dinner dish is the albacore confit. It is fresh, satisfying and filling, without being heavy. And the scallion mayo?! Yum! They also make in house soft serve ice cream in a varying rotation of flavors, which sounds so dreamy, but we are always too stuffed to try it! Lastly, I generally go for boring water, but my husband loves their Bloody Mary and most particularly the old fashioned made with pork fat washed bourbon. They offer brunch Saturday and Sunday, and this is a great time to try out Humble Spirit. We've never needed a reservation if we arrive first thing, and you get to have possibly my favorite item they serve, the donuts! Now, I love sugar, but donuts don't tend to be my desired vehicle for sweetness. That is, until I met Humble Spirit's incredible rendition. I am a chocolate gal always, but I honestly cannot choose between the rich dark chocolate and the cinnamon sugar variety. Both are not too sweet, served warm, and guaranteed to knock your socks off. The few times we've had brunch and skipped the donuts I've regretted it. Do yourself a favor and order both. The corned beef hash is also exemplary (those crispy potatoes?! I could eat a whole bowl of them alone!). Service is chill and friendly. Prices are average for a nicer spot and absolutely worth it. Parking is only available on the street. I tend to avoid parking on third and utilize the lots on 2nd, but for brunch you can sometimes get a spot right out front.

Beautifully renovated space. The Pub is exactly what McMinnville needed but didn't know they needed. I immediately felt at home and comfortable sitting at the bar. The staff is friendly and informative. The menu is small but adequate smart and well curated with something for everyone. We ordered the Smashburger with fries, a Cucumber Gin cocktail and a Davis St Sour. The burger was incredible in fact it is now one of my favorite in all of Yamhill county. The meat is quality, smashed to perfection juicy and flavorful. The griddled onions and melty smoked Gouda are the icing on the cake. The bun slathered with fancy sauce and B&B pickles put this burger over the top. The price is a tad high but the quality soon makes you forget the $19 price tag. We added a beautiful sunny side up egg for an extra $3 which was well worth splurge. The fries are thin cut perfect and salty. We had fun trying all the homemade sauces my personal favorite is the sweet coffee bbq sauce. I dipped and dunked my fries and burger feeling like a kid in a candy store. Excited to go back and try the crispy Chicken Sandwich. I have the feeling The Pub will be on our weekly rotation.

I want to go back for the breakfast everyone is raving about! We went for dinner and had a so-so time. Staff was kind. Decor was lovely. Food was good. My only issue was all our food came out at once. When I go out to dinner, I like to pace my courses: drinks, then salad, then main, finishing with dessert. We were in and out in 1 hour. Not my ideal dining experience.

But we will review them later *=* Back to the restaurant. Service was nice, for point price of food here, it would have been great if the server had asked if we wanted a refill on any of our drinks or if we needed anything else besides cleaning up our plates every chance they got when we were all still eating but resting between bites. I could loudly overheard the bartender and our server make a comment about my drink order. One other thing that was strange for us was how long it took someone to come over to get a drink order, while we looked over the menu. There were two servers and only two tables being occupied in the entire restaurant when we arrived since they had just opened. Towards the end of our dinner, the restaurant front manager came out. His name is Justin. Very nice person, asked how are meals and of everything was satisfactory for us. Now I could have mentioned the small little weird things but what mattered to me the most was spending time with my family. So maybe I might return or maybe not. Either way the restaurant itself was great! Food excellent but voicing your opinions regarding how people want their drinks or food when it is coming out of their own wallet should not be a topic for open discussion when the ordering person can hear the whole conversation. Justin please speak with your staff regarding timing. What is an appropriate length of time to allow guests to sit at a table. After watching two out of three servers walk past us so often I looked over at my spouse and wondered if we should find a different restaurant. So many layers, but thank you reader for sticking it out with me. Not sure why the little hiccup's happened but either way for a $217 bill and $30 tip service should have been better. This is just my own personal experience and opinion. Please check them out for yourself because everything we ate and drank was delicious. Mainly the front house issues. I too also use to be a server so I come from a different culture when dining.

After a not so great first restaurant experience, we happened upon Thistle at the recommendation of a friend. We decided to stop in for an appetizer and a drink. We were immediately greeted by a lovely man named Patrick who was so friendly and accommodated us at a lovely table in the center dining room. Round #1 of drinks was ordered with the Gnocchi and Duck Liver Mousse. Good. LORDT. We were smitten at sip and bite #1. After the first round, we settled into having a second round before heading out... next thing you know, a Pork Confit hit our table. OUT OF THIS WORLD. The talent of this chef is beyond words. Our planned 45 minute stop turned into a whole evening. The drinks were absolutely out of this world. The food was ridiculously good. Truly, the absolute best restaurant in all of McMinnville. To the chef, John Thomas IV and the owner, Patrick, THANK YOU! You truly too an average Saturday evening into one of our favorite trips to McMinnville of all times. We raved and sang the praises of our experience to all our friends this morning at brunch. Our one evening alone will guarantee our return many many times in the future. I felt it the whole time and it was a bit unsettling. However my wife and I enjoyed a nice meal. Portions are smaller and price is way up there, so be prepared to spend.
