Warm, welcoming, efficient staff. Cocktails were delightful and well-priced. There is a full bar and a nice selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The limited menu highlights excellent smoked meats with familiar supporting side dishes for this cuisine. The butterscotch pudding is not to be missed. A marvel! Missteps: The garden variety salad was mostly large chunks of radicchio, making it overwhelmingly bitter and inedible. There are tv screens on and sports blaring from overhead speakers in areas that should be reserved for cozy conversation and dining. TV's don't need to be in every restaurant and are glaringly out of place with the lovely decor and overall vibe of The Pub. read more

Amazing new place in downtown McMinnville. The decor is warm and cozy with a special area upstairs with larger booths. This is a locally owned business and they source products from local farmers and vendors. Everything supports the community. I had the animal farm entree which is a hearty portion of smoked pork and beef treats. Cocktail menus is worth the stop alone. We have eaten at The Pub in McMinnville twice now with the most recent visit yesterday. Both meals and overall experiences were wonderful! They hit it on all elements: service, ingredients and meal preparation, communication, thorough knowledge of dishes and drinks, ambiance and cadence of the experience. We find their food to be particularly consistent, tasty and of high quality. There are many elements that are unique to The Pub in both the food and drinks offered. Originality definitely seems to be a priority. They also source much of their ingredients from local farms, which is something that we look for in a restaurant. We usually eat at the bar with Ellie waiting on us both times. She is a gem! Very knowledgeable, pleasant and patient as we asked questions about offerings and ingredients. Quite polished in her role, balancing existing customers needs with the regular flow of new ones arriving. The manager on duty yesterday, O'Malley, was clearly keeping an eye on the floor and flow of food, readily assisting as needed. The interactions between restaurant personnel that we observed definitely gave the impression they function as a team, very mutually supportive. read more

This is a newly opened amazing place that's affiliated with one of our favorite local spots, Humble Spirit. So as soon as we got to town and heard about it we had to try it out. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Food was amazing, we had the smash burger, fried chicken sandwich and order several of the sides. All the sauces they provide are so flavorful. Our favorites were the hogwash and the hot sauce. All were perfect! Ordered a cocktail and some wine, again when it comes to cocktails their bartenders know their stuff. We sat at the bar and chatted with one of their bartenders Jeremy. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The renovation they did to the space is lovely. Not super bright, it's got a nice lounge vibe with several different type of seating. Great music playing. Just all around a great place. If I had this in my home town I would be here easily every week or more! read more

I really wanted to love this place given we were staying at another Inn they own which is Inn the Ground. The Smashburger was fine (wish they would offer a choice of one patty instead of two) but the atmosphere of the restaurant is just so cold and uninviting. There are no servers either so you order at the counter. I loved their other restaurant Grounded Table and it was so warm and inviting. This feels very "off-brand" for them and think they could make it so much better! read more

Just went in a couple nights ago. Absolutely beautiful space. Not cramped. Lots of nooks that all have a different-yet-the-same feeling. Again, this team hits it out of the park. I'm sure there's some consultant that's telling them what they need to do but they pull the trigger and write the checks. Perhaps they listen to the "correct" consultants who know the market a bit better than the team down the street that has no understanding of what the local market wants/needs. Whilst The PUB could definitely find a market in Portland, Seattle or even bigger cities, this is exactly what McMinnville and Yamhill County needed.I mean, okay, Humble Spirit is still a great place but we don't go back all that often because the menu could use a revamp. I will say that its iterations have been better in the last few months. We're talking about The PUB, though, and although we've only been in once, we LOVED the meat loaf! Well executed. The fries were lovely as well. I have to say the greens, though, well, I'd prefer see this as a chopped salad rather than having to cut baby gems. We love baby gems but we'd rather not have to "work" when we're having an impromptu pub-like experience. Drinks were fantastic and the prices not only of the drinks but the food items as well are perfectly placed. We saw on the sandwich board that they lowered the prices of the drinks but don't really know what all of that was about.Again, the Humble Spirit team does a fantastic job of not only execution but understanding this "isn't Sonoma" as the team down the street would want you to believe. This is McMinnville and it deserves an identity all to itself and the pub and Humble Spirit understand it. Bravo. Five stars. Do not hesitate to come in and enjoy lovely drinks and food. The staff were attentive and friendly as well but I'd expect nothing less.Looking forward to the next time we come in. Like tonight. Keep up the great work. read more

Visiting a good friend in Newberg and wanted to take her to Grounded Table but we got a late start for dinner and ended at The Pub. The pub is the sister restaurant to Grounded Table and it did not disappoint. We were warmly welcomed by the two employees who worked the bar area. Super friendly service and incredibly informative about the menu. Almost everything they service is sourced from their farm or local purveyors. The burger was incredible. Super flavorful beef, perfectly cooked, and delicious condiments. I had the marionberry martini and we shared the pickled deviled eggs. My only slight complaint was the deviled eggs were slightly heavy handed with horseradish. My friend and I shared their take on Oreo cookies. The cream in the middle is made with pork fat. Next level delicious. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. read more

Having been to Humble Spirit/ Grounded Table many times, l will admit my expectations were high. The interior is welcoming and comfortable, but I did see a few tables with dirty dishes and the place was not crowded at all..there were maybe 3 tables taken. This was a Sunday evening at 6:40 pm. We were immediately informed the kitchen was out of 2 dishes on the menu..against 6:40 pm...a little early to be running out of food! I had the smoked turkey with a roll and a side of fries. The turkey was tough and dry and the roll was hard and stale and pretty inedible. It wasn't even warm. As I sawed through the turkey, it was on a platter lined with paper. With every bite I had to pick pieces of paper off the meat. My friend had the smash burger and said it was tasty. Not once did anyone come to check on us to inquire how our meal was or if we needed anything additional. ( We did. More ketchup for the fries would have been helpful). All in all, it was a seriously disappointing visit and I will not be back. read more
