This place was a great find, and I would go back again! First thing, this place was actually a little hard to find. When you are standing on the corner looking around and only seeing what looks like a gas station, you are in the correct place! There is a door in front and in the back. I walked in and was instructed to sit anywhere that was open. My order was taken right away, and all the staff I encountered were very nice. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla with no meat. Cozy little cafe with only a few tables. Great service, and soooo friendly! Clearly a local hangout - everyone knew everybody! My husband had the breakfast quesadilla, which he said had just the right balance of all the fillings. I had the sausage biscuit and a side of hash browns. The biscuit was fluffy, the sausage delicious - and both were about 4" across! Hash browns were just the right ratio of crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Really only have positive things to say about our breakfast experience here. The inside seating is a little small but there's flexibility with an outdoor area available as well. Once you enter, you seat yourself and the waitstaff will come around with the menu. The ladies who helped us were really pleasant and attentive the whole time we were there. We got the 2 stack of pancakes, Ramiro omelette with biscuits & gravy, and chuckwagon special. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and the biscuits & gravy were some of the best ones we've ever had. We also got to try their delightful homemade raspberry jam! Portion sizes were generous and everything was tasty and reasonable priced. Overall, a satisfying meal and we all left very happy. Well their burgers are pretty dog gone good. Arrived in Carlton to taste some wines and chocolate and was redirected to what is now Carlton Corner due to their famous burgers. I ordered the bacon mushroom burger with a side salad. Deeelicious! Fresh burger and salad with a great mix of ingredients The burger had a really really tasty soft bun and included a special sauce with tomato onion bacon and mushroom. Servings are here are generous so either bring your appetite or share a burger. The patty itself was perfectly grilled and comes standard, well done. This is not a dry patty. It was full of flavor and really enjoyably juicy. The salad was fresh and comes with olives, cheese, tomatoes and croutons. They offer a variety of entree salads that I bet are really good. Doing Everything Right! Carlton Corners offer indoor and outdoor seating. They have created a beautiful space right in downtown Carlton. They offer salads, burgers, chicken, steak, pizza, and more! It is a large menu with some pretty fun, unique items as well. Literally something for everyone! they do serve alcohol as well. We have never waited long to be served, and our food has always been plenty, and hot and delicious! read more

Update to update - still very disappointed at our first visit. I don't know what went wrong but our third visit has earned them a place in our regular rotation. I read somewhere that five star family burger (Cornelius) was awarded best burger by some ranking - I don't remember - but the point is I've had a five star and if that ranks the best I have to imagine someone failed to try the fireman's at CC. My previous visit to CC I had a special (burger) and it was good but I just demolished a fireman and it was everything a burger should be. Juicy, beefy, perfect sear, brilliantly seasoned, and a bun that contained it all perfectly. 11/10. And the wings - soooo good. Glad we came back. read more

We come here a lot and the food is ALWAYS good. We know when the kitchen closes. We arrived at 8:05 and the kitchen closes at 8:30. As soon as the waitress came to our table she seemed annoyed and told us the kitchen closes at 8:30. She brought us our food after kitchen Closing time and never checked on us . Plenty of people were at the bar and she was nice to them. I had to get up and pay and she was VERY unfriendly. Not sure what was going on but it didn't seem right. read more

This has been one of our favorite places for years. The last 4 visits have been disappointing. The service was unusually slow each time, and food came out cold. Requests for additional condiments were never filled. One time, we left after 20 minutes as no one came to our table. The time frame for our experiences were in October and November of 2023. A friend wanted to look at some homes in the area and brought me here. The reastaruant side is called Carlton Corner. They're chicken fried steak is really good, but a little small. Surprisingly filling though! She got herself a mimosa and it came in a pint! I tried a sip and it was pretty good! The atmosphere here is very comforting and has that old fashioned feel. This converted gas station conscience store has continued to grow over the last couple of decades. The food has always been decent and you'll always find one of the best tap selections on town. The staff are friendly and work to keep up on the customers even if they're a little short staffed at times. Absolutely disgusting customer treatment! I have been coming here for years with my family and have been given uncooked eggs several times, wrong orders, bad service, long food order wait times, massively increased prices, and microwaved meals. What a joke! The owners granddaughter Hidie despicable treatment of paying customers who come in spending $100+ dollars every time they come in, and will even yell at customers in the restaurant in front of everyone when they simply ask for their meal that they paid for to be remade NOT MICROWAVED! The servers are disrespectful even when given a 20%+ tip in cash. I wish I could give it 0 stars, even their gas pumps have water in them which has caused many vehicle issues several times among locals. Want a snack there? Good luck not getting sick from their out of date drinks and chips. The only thing salvageable is the towing services and mechanical workers here they absolutely earn a 5 starts but completely opposite for the restaurant and staff. Carlton has many good and respectful businesses and people if you find yourself around here but this is one is not worth waste your money or time on. My parents have been coming here for years, finally checked it out and it didn't disappoint. Got the Mac and Cheese Bites along with a Firehouse burger and it was delicious. The burger was definitely large, and a great value for the price. It was cooked perfectly, not overly done, and the ingredients tasted fresh. We have heard a lot of people raving about this place for a few years now so a group of us decided to try it. There were 6 of us, which seemed to be a very large group for this small restaurant. We went inside, where we saw a couple people we assumed to be waitresses standing. No one said a word for a few minutes and we decided to find a table ourselves. We worked our way out the backdoor to the outdoor seating area and found a table large enough to seat us all. There was empty beer glasses on all the vacant tables but we figured it was just because they were busy. They never seemed busy during the time we spent here. A waitress finally came to our table after a few minutes and took our drink order. It took about 15 minutes to get 4 beers (all the same) and 6 waters. At that time, we ordered our meals, 4 bacon cheeseburgers and two salads, a side of jo-jos and a side of tots. Another 20 minutes went by and we got our sides. We ordered another round of beer and it took them 45 minutes from that time to bring beer and our food we had ordered over an hour prior. The food was so-so, and my salad was warm by the time it got to me. Slow service, dirty dishes left on tables, okay food. Probably won't be back here as there are a number of amazing places to visit in the area. read more

The title of this business should be "Carlton Corner Service & Towing, Plus Brew Pub." Yes, this gas station has a brew pub attached to it and it's fantastic. It's a small, comfortable room off to the side of the convenience portion of the store. They have about 10 local beers on tap and have plans to expand. They also have great burgers, fries and a few other bites. A bonus too is that they have growlers you can take to-go. The prices are super cheap and they offer three sizes if you drink your beer there. Why not get a 2oz pour and try them all!!! Bonus - I love the John Wayne memorabilia on the walls! read more

It is a small added section to the main building. The atmosphere is 'cozy'. The decor like a small wooden cottage with small tables and a corner booth. Why would anyone want to eat at a gas station? Prices are very reasonable, food had always been great for breakfast and lunch. The staff is friendly and attentive.....and you wouldn't think it........many choices of beer on draft !!!!!
