We arrived for brunch on Mother's Day at 12pm and it actually wasn't as busy as we thought it would be! However service was very slow as it appears it was only one server and the other was the bartender but would help out occasionally. Food also took a while to come out and were served our main courses before our appetizer and salad. I also felt like the prices were quite expensive for a small town like Carlton. For food we ordered the renegade potato's, a house salad, French toast and the biscuit and gravy. The renegade potato's were so good! Nice crispy potato with a spicy aioli! The house salad was a little disappointing. It was pretty but it didn't have the seasonal fruit that I was looking forward to. French toast was decent; a nice crispy brioche French toast with what appears to be a homemade blueberry jam. But this didn't wow me as much as I thought it would. The biscuits and gravy was interesting though and almost tastes like a spicy sausage gravy. If you're in the area, I would definitely check this place out! Saturday lunch, arrived at 1:15pm, the place was empty but the music was blasting so loud that we could not hear each other even just standing in the doorway. The tables around us then filled up fast with loud voices trying to talk over the music. Nice space, but brick walls, concrete floors and the volume up on the "background music" makes for very bad acoustics. Food and service were good - I had Tuna Poke, Hubby had Falafel Burger (both 5 stars dishes!). It's definitely worth a try if you are looking for a party atmosphere, but not good for a quiet, weekend-afternoon lunch date. If we can't hear each other then all we can do is look at our phones, which is what we are trying not to do when we go out for a meal. This restaurant/bar I have visited over the past years and really enjoyed it. There's limited street parking but have been lucky for the most part, find one near the front door. We were short on time, trying to hit our next Wine tasting appointment. The menu has changed dramatically, a lot smaller than I remember. We asked our server for the quickest item to order. She said the smash burger and fries. It was good but I shoveled it down so quickly that I had to leave most of my fries. Next time, I would probably share the burger or try something a bit lighter. We coincidentally dined on a Friday night when they had a band perform. From what I heard the place does get busy at night. The food had quality ingredients and deliciously filling. My newest favorite spot to eat in this area! My husband ordered the smash burger which he said was good but he was jealous of my short rib French dip and it was fantastic! The hand cut fries are also amazing and have a good seasoning. Smaller menu so you know it's going to be good whatever you end up eating! This is such a cute little spot in Carlton. It's a great place to do a girls night out. The seating is high top with wood benches along one wall. There are also several low tops in the front of restaurant, in addition to a long bar with seating. The service here is awesome. They are the most friendly and helpful servers. I met the female owner once, she was super nice. The only thing I've ever eaten here bedsides the Yamhill county "February 2024 Meltdown" they made for the food bank fundraiser is the tuna poke. I've had it twice. Once with the spicy Mayo and once without. It's definitely a yes from me! So good. I definitely recommend. For The Meltdown month they made a very tasty tomato soup to go with a super yummy grilled cheese. I almost forgot I also have ordered the fancy French fry's here. We were in the McMinnville area and saw this place on Yelp. Due to the great reviews we figured to give it a try. Outstanding. Had the bahn mi sandwich. Bread was excellent and the sandwich tasted very fresh. French fries were delicious. One reviewer stated best fries ever, which I kind of agree. Wife had a salad and loved it. When we were there they were getting a supply delivery. Everything brought in was high quality down to the Portland ketchup. Service was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant is cool.
