There were lots of great options on the menu and then there were many more daily special options on top of that. You get an app or dessert, soup or salad, and an entree. Everything was really well prepared. The seafood dish and lamb chops were incredible. Staff was really hard to read though and could have been a little friendlier than so regimented. We came here for my mother in laws birthday and the food was DEVINE. First of all one of the best things is you walk in and theres this wonderful dim lighting and soft music that's playing. The wait staff is so very kind and speaks softly. Very cozy seating arrangements. It's overall a very relaxing dining experience! We got the chicken, the fish, a steak, and their pork dish. (I can't remember the French names for everything) all the meats were so tender and flavorful. And even the sides were seasoned perfectly. The veggies were covered in this wonderful buttery sauce. Everyone in our party opted for the prix fixe menu for $45 and ordered some wine as well. It is a pretty good deal for what you get. The service was quick, and the staff were very helpful with our questions. - Escargot (5/5) - The escargot came prepared in the usual style with a buttery garlic sauce and the shells already removed. It tasted wonderful, and it came out very quickly. Perfect with the bread. - Steak frites (4/5): This was also delicious. Steak was cooked well, good portion size. The fries were good but not amazing. I usually like them more crispy. - Poisson du Jour, fresh catch of the day (4/5): Cooked well, flaky, tasted fresh. This place was so amazing! My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant at long last and we enjoyed the food and the service a lot. We were both saying our french fries were super delicious and our main food too so so delicious. And the chocolate cake? That was to die for. It was warm and just melted in your mouth, I don't think I've ever had such a delicious piece of chocolate cake. And I'm not usually a crab person but the white fish on basmati rice that had crab in it too was amazing! My boyfriend was surprised I was eating it but it was just so yummy! We just had such a wonderful experience at this place and we both agreed we would definitely recommend this place to everyone and we hope to be back soon to try more yummy food! read more

Came here for our anniversary dinner and everything was flawless. It was a treat to have our order taken by the owner and chef who gave us a bit of a history lesson on the restaurant (19 years strong and the first restaurant in Carlton) and had a fun (on the dry side) sense of humor. We opted for one of the french wines since we'd had plenty of local wine by then and it was so so good. Our appetizers were semolina cake with mushroom cream sauce and the clams - both were excellent but the mushroom dish was to die for. For our entrees we had the lamb and pork chops. My husband isn't much of a foodie but he couldn't get over the pork chops - said they were the best pork chops he'd ever had. My lamb chops were phenomenal as well. The cost was surprisingly affordable for such a decadent meal. Overall it was just a wonderful dinner experience and we'll definitely be back in future whenever we have something to celebrate. read more

I had the Pork Tenderloin (Filet Mignon etc from menu name) Essentiallly 3 slices of pork tenderloin breaded (similar to a pork milinase, paired with a homemade pasta prepared similar to a schnitzel...could've used a sauce (maybe a butter sauce) ....husband had originally ordered the Lamb Chop special and then was told it was sold out...he was deeply disappointed by his knee jerk order of the Ribeye ("super thin and lacked flavor")...though he thoroughly enjoyed his split pea bisque. My sister and her husband enjoyed their "Lean Cod" special. And their clam appetizer was "super yummy" and then after finishing their clams they had a touch of red wine added to their Broth to be soaked up by their bread. Our meal here was a bit hit or miss. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. They have an extensive wine list but when asked if they have any nonalcoholic options, the server stared at me and eventually said sparkling water or Diet Pepsi. This was a strangely common response in this town, so it wasn't surprising. I stuck with water but wished their was something more interesting to have with the meal. My friend enjoyed the wine the server suggested. The escargot was tasty while the clams were in a broth a bit lacking in flavor. The salad was lettuce with a tiny bit of beets and dressing, while the cold potato soup had some oil and a tiny bit of pepper on it and was very bland. My friend loved her steak entree and fries, and the lamb chops were my tastiest item, though the vegetables served with it were undercooked and thus a bit too hard and again lacking in flavor. The creme brûlée was fine, not great but not bad. It was a good amount of food for the price, but the quality wasn't what I was expecting given the rave reviews we'd heard from everyone. read more

A local told us about this place, that is shouldn't be missed...he was right! Local wine selection was small but well chosen. Steamed clams appetizer was fresh and clams sweet, home made bread was perfect accompaniment. I had the cold soup which was very flavorful reminding me of mussamum. Wife had spring salad which was very fresh. For entree my wife had the steak frittes which excellent. The veggie sides were so fresh! The standout items was the fritte sauce, she loved it so much, triple dipping for every bite was observed. I had the pork belly that was also well prepared and was served with same vegetables along with baked black-eyed peas. We split warm chocolate cake with ice cream. The servings were polite portions and we were not overstuffed but extremely satisfied. Service was okay, seemed to be understaffed and sometimes off-track. Henri - the owner & chef is a gem. Wonderful dry sense of humor, great customer service & host. My wife & I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cuvée. We couldn't have selected a better place to celebrate. While the entree selection may not be huge, it's very similar to what you would find in a quaint restaurant in France or Switzerland. Henri had, maybe a half dozen choices as an entree, but I wanted 5 of them. They all looked delicious. I had the duck & my wife had the fish special. They both were delicious. Save room for desserts. They are delicious, as well. Do yourself a favor & during these Covid-19 times, book well in advance. The restaurant is quaint/small & only every other table can be utilized. We settled on the mushrooms & cornmeal cake, butternut soup, pork medallions / shrimp & scallop gratin ending with creme caramel. Each dish was flavored perfectly. Of special note was composition of the pork medallions with red cabbage and pasta was simply outstanding; a wonderful fall dish. Henri selected the glasses we had with each course. Alright, based on the aromas we could smell as we stood in the door, my wife then stepped back out on the street and called to make a reservation for the following night. Success this time.
