My sister and I had lunch there and she ordered fish and chips. She said the fish was delicious and although the fries were tasted they were way too salty. I had the wood fired shrimp Caesar. The shrimp was way over cooked and the salad looked like half was leftover dressed salad with a few fresh leaves added. Not impressed. read more

CUTE! I absolutely love what they did with the place. The low lighting, distressed concrete floors and vintage signs really give it a cool vibe. We sat at the bar because the restaurant area was pretty busy. The bartender was very sweet and attentive. We ordered an Apricot Gimlet - kill deer gin, lime, lemon, st Germaine, apricot . Also, a Oh My Darlin - Bullit bourbon, orange, lemon, Demerara, orange bitters. Both cocktails were lovely and well balanced. I love gimlets this one didn't disappoint. I am a huge fan and will be back for this cocktail. For dinner we shared a Clementine Burger 2 beef patties smashed, American cheese, shredded letty, onions, clementine fry sauce and a toasted sesame bun. Served with seasoned shoe string fries. The seasoning on the fries was unexpectedly delicious . I am happy to report the burger is/was a true smash burger with shatteringly crisp, lacy edges seared to an intense umami crust, all tucked inside a pillowy toasted sesame bun that doesn't get in the way. Our second time here and got there early this time. Reservations recommended! We sat at one of the tables and noticed all of the old-time bicycles on the wall which was very cute. We were quickly taken care of by our server, JJ. She was very attentive and helpful with the menu. We decided to share an order of short ribs and was absolutely awesome. It arrived on a bed of mashed potatoes with cooked carrots and brussells sprouts. I would highly recommend this dish. My only negative is that it is a bit pricier than I would have thought. I have to say I walked in wanting this place to be amazing but sadly we left saying.. we probably won't be back. The hype around this place had us itching to try it so we did but upon first walking in I was more than confused. Right side had a intimate and romantic feel but the left was mismatched couches, and a taxidermy moose. On both sides there were old bikes around the whole thing and then score boards? I really didn't understand the feel they were going for. We did choose to sit at the tables. We started with a Apricot Gimlet and then a Old Fashion. Both left us desiring more... The Gimlet had zero apricot taste and the old fashion really didn't have a taste at all. We moved to the appetizer which was the highlight of the whole evening.. there Brussel sprouts really are a show stopper and I highly recommend them! We share two entrees, the Italian Sausage flat bread and the Blacken Shrimp Caesar. The flat bread was super bland. The pesto had no flavor and was oily. We loved the arugula with the caesar and the shrimp was good but their dressing was not well blended. While caesar is made with sardines some of the bites tasted completely fishy and some were fine. It was very odd and very unappealing. Service at the beginning was great but after we got our food no one checked on us until it was time for the check. We couldn't have ordered more drinks if we wanted to which was unfortunate. There was no check in on how the food was and overall service lacked a personal touch in my opinion. First off. Right off the bat we have been in here for less than 15 minutes and the service is the wildest I've ever experienced for the best reasons. We rolled in here by accident after an entire day at the beach and just wanted to feed 2 hungry kids on a Father's Day. Kayla is our waitress and immediately hit it off with my 5 year old making her feel heard and special. She took the order of both our kids from our kids making them feel super special. She then asked have you seen our pay phone? And then said she'll take them to see it. But after she took our order I was going to take the kids but the moment I was about to take my kids Kayla sends one of her colleagues, Savannah, to take them. She was with my kids showing the phone for like 5 minutes. Who does that???? This is like a full service restaurant. All the workers here have huge smiles on their faces even though it's Father's Day Sunday. Everyone is so kind. On to the live music... there was live music shortly after we settled! What a magical place. The atmosphere was bright, calm and super open. The decor on the walls are so unique, bikes on the walls, pool table in the corner, live band set up in the opposite corner, wood fire oven open for all to see. Old 60-70s cartoons playing on a screen above where the band plays. Simply magical. Food review: we got the aged balsamic Brussels sprouts that were soooo yummy. Crunchy goodness!!! Homemade Caesar dressing on arugula with shrimp, it hit my in the face with flavor it is SO good. My the biggest fan of arugula so I may be biased but dang the food is solid it was also HUGE. Thank goodness my 5 year old helped me with the salad and shrimp plus her own pasta. My son ate all his kids cheese burger and my husband devoured his smash. Oh and biodegradable straws! It's an entire vibe Staff was polite - but here is the catch - hence lack of 5 stars After a certain time- an INCREDIBLY ABBREVIATED MENU- while this isn't unheard of- you don't know till your sitting down-(after looking at the menu posted outside) Then your handed this - little menu Choice -5 savory or 5 sweet items... If I had not been starving I would have skipped it and tried another day- So the only savory item with substance was their burger Burger was a good old fashioned smash burger- Maybe a 4.5?!?! As soon as we walked in we felt so cozy and comfortable! The moody lighting is so nice, and the wait staff were so friendly. You can immediately smell the smokiness from the meat for the nachos. And then the food! They managed to get all of our food out at the same time and it was all hot! Here's what we had: Margarita flatbread (I added arugula) the dough was a bit floppy but very well seasoned. You can tell they make their own sauce because it was DELICIOUS. Perfectly tomatoey and just a bit spicy! Fish & chips 8/10 Fish was perfectly breaded, fish was tender, and very well seasoned. Fries were nice and hot. But coleslaw and sauce needed more zing, definitely not traditional. Needed more lemon or capers or something Clementine Burger 9/10 tasted like a gourmet in & out burger. Bun was perfectly toasted and had the perfect amount of everything on it Braised short ribs 9/10 meat was cooked perfectly and didn't even need salt or pepper for the mash!! Cajun wings 8/10 perfectly fried, but needs more Cajun seasoning. Their homemade ranch really made it! Ranch 1000/10 they're got their recipe down!! Brussels sprouts 9/10 perfectly crispy and zingy from the balsamic and parm Drinks! Looks like they nailed it. Great use of the space. Open seating with intimate tables and booths. Many size booths for many size groups. Great level of music . It was kind of quiet when I was there but service is on point and attentive yet not bothersome like Goldilocks just right. The star of the show tonight was the Blood Orange creme brulee. It did not disappoint. The cooked the topping on right there so it was not your typical out of the fridge cold. It was a hard topping with a slightly warm pudding emancipating the taste buds from normal and taking them to foodgasm Bravo. If they pay this much attention to dessert I'll be back for an entree. Love the vibe. Things I loved: they take reservations, they also have open seating and a bar top. Simple menu. Delicious drinks. They have an area for a live band. The open seating selection is on couches with coffee tables. I would definitely enjoy that space with friends, drinks and appetizers to munch on. I don't think it would be easy eating a dinner entree there. The pub fries appetizer was tasty but the fries were cold. The Italian sausage flatbread didn't let me down. We ordered the margarita flatbread. We were excited to see that they have a woodfired oven and we were absolutely gob smacked when the flatbread came out soggy and limp. We also ordered the Caesar salad. It mentioned arugula on the menu for the Caesar salad. We were wrong to assume that it included arugula with Romain...wrong...It was all arugula. Finally got downtown to try Clementine. It's been on my list so I was stoked to get over here!! Walking in it feels like like kind of a hipster spot with couches and coffee tables to get comfy and have a drink at and really cool round booths to sit at. The decor is pretty cool, they have some old school signs and old mountain bikes lining the walls. The couches and tables are also all retro from like the 70s and 80s. One thing to note about this joint is they have an afternoon menu and a dinner menu that starts at 5, so plan accordingly they are online so you can look before you come. I had to try the clementine pub fries and fish and chips which I subbed the chips for salad since I already had fries. The pub fries are an upscale version of animal style fries from in and out, except I prefer in and out. The fries definitely could have been cooked longer, they weren't really crispy and then you add the caramelized onions and sauce on top and they were a bit of a soggy mess. The onions were delicious though and the sauce was what you'd expect from a fry sauce. The fries were also seasoned with a Cajun spice that was actually pretty spicy which I enjoyed. Their homemade ranch is pretty delicious as well. The garden salad is pretty good, it's got apple, ghost cheese and pickled onion with poppyseed dressing. If I had one thing bad to say about it, I would have preferred less dressing, but I'm not going to complain. The fish was light and crispy and cooked perfect, Andy you get three huge pieces! The tartar sauce was amazing! One thing I did note is three servers were talking a bit away from my table and were using some pretty colorful language and I could hear it all, so I didn't like that. The playlist is pretty epic though, so if you like music it's worth coming for a drink and staying for the music. They do have live music as well so check their website for that! We stopped in to Clementine for a late dinner - We've now been back twice in the last two weeks. The atmosphere is great, I love the open seating and the option for booths or tables. The server remembered us the second visit and brought ice for the waters without being asked. He was efficient and timely in refills and dropping of the check. My husband had the Fish & Chips the first visit - They were big pieces of fish served with a shoestring style fry, seasoning was a little spicy, but he liked it. I tried the Mole Nachos - Flavor was great, I think I would like them with a drizzle of sour cream and a bit larger plate (portion was great but hard to eat on such a tiny plate). My second visit I tried the brussels sprouts - Loved them, but did ask for a bit more balsamic. Save room for dessert too - The donuts with lemon curd are amazing! Eight of us had a unique experience here, in that management invited us in to correct a misadventure at Loam one year ago. We intended to return to Loam but due to scheduling challenges we could not get in. So we were offered a table at Clementine at our choice of date and time. Two things right off the bat: 1) Ambience: Fun, funky, spacious, great music. All we could ask for. 2) Service: The staff stood on their heads to welcome us and ensure our visit was perfect. However, the food was inconsistent, which we found disappointing. Great appetizers and dessert, but our entrees were just okay. And we really wanted to love everything! Bottom line - thank you to all, especially Kate and Amy who took care of our reservation and hosting. We absolutely will return when back in the area read more

Beyond expectations!! I was expecting some pub food, but what I found was outstanding! Above and beyond! We were a party of five, three had wild boar ribs that were tender and tasty. Where else can you find them so tender and with enough fat too! I and one other had the most tender short ribs I have ever eaten. The flavor was excellent! From the wine bottle chandeliers to the vintage bike collection handing on the walls, this place is full of charm. The food was good but the service was horrible! Kayla was our server. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a salad in place of fries. This is an option for 3 additional dollars. They brought the sandwich with fries and an entire salad. I explained I wanted the salad in place of not in addition to fries. Kayla came back and I repeated my request. She proceeded to take all the food away and came back with the salad and the chicken sandwich torn apart with chicken meat on top of the salad. This was not right either so once she understood, I had to wait for a brand new meal to come out. There was no apologies. No, I'm sorry. No can I buy you a drink? He spent some time in New Orleans and knows Cajun. I too love me a good étouffée and have had some great dishes. What made it a further fail was they ran out of white rice (not sure how a restaurant does that) so they had to serve it with wild rice. Not a good pair. All that said the place is good. The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere with great decor and an overall fun vibe, but unfortunately the food didn't live up to the experience. I started with the wings as an appetizer, and while they looked promising, they were very small and lacked flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the fish and chips with coleslaw, and again everything tasted pretty bland. I found myself adding a lot of vinegar to the fish just to bring out some flavor. Overall, the ambiance was excellent, but the food was disappointing. Hopefully they can bring a chef in that can help bring the food to life because this spot definitely has potential. read more

This place is a whole vibe that Newberg needed. Vintage sofas, bicycles, a kind of upscale 60s diner with half-moon booths and comfy bucket chairs. There's a smooth groovy-funk modern track playing that adds to the mood. Would recommend getting a reservation. We did not have one, but got there right at 5 when they opened, and they made room for us. The drinks were good. I had the Fresh Start cocktail, tart and bubbly. Hubs ordered the coconut mocktail...and they happily added a shot of rum. I tried the fish and chips. The fries were excellent. The fish was breaded and fried perfectly. I wish it had a little more flavor, though. Hubs splurged on the short rib...Which was huge...smoky and falling off the bone. Very rich. Very good.
