    Mushroom pizza
    Kim K.

Ordered online for pickup after a day of wine tasting. Easy parking out front to run in and pack it up. I was really looking forward to this place but the pizza we got was pretty disappointing. We ordered the gluten free mushroom pizza and overall it was pretty sad, especially for $26. I don't have super high expectations for gluten free pizza but it was quite dry and lacking in toppings. The toppings felt like an after thought. I don't know if I've ever had raw onions on pizza before. My friends who got the not gluten free pizza said theirs wasn't bad but overall for the price would expect more.

Wooden Heart Kitchen: Burrata Salad minus the Burrata and Sopressato

The ambiance of Wooden Heart Kitchen was nice. Since it was a nice day we requested to sit outside. A group of friends and I went wine tasting in the area. We went to one winery and decided to get lunch before heading to the next one. I voted for Wooden Heart because I saw interesting salads that I thought could be veganized. There were vegetarian items on the menu. Our group consisted of 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian and 2 omnivores. I get the deciding factor, mostly because it's harder to find vegan items on the menu. I ordered the Burrata Salad, though I had no idea what Burrata meant. I ordered it because I saw that there were artichoke hearts in the salad. Something called sopressato was in the salad, and I had to ask what that was. Good thing I did because it was something like salami. I mentioned being vegan. Not sure if he heard me, or maybe he doesn't know the difference between vegan or vegetarian, but I didn't know what burrata meant, and I forgot to ask about it. I got the sopressato on the side for the meat eaters. When my salad came, it had a white ball on top, I asked what it was and they said the Burrata. I took it off and placed it on the plate with the sopressato. Other than that, the salad was good. My veggie friend got the Margherita pizza and shared it with an Omni friend. They both enjoyed that. The other Omni friend enjoyed his meal.

Just went here last Saturday for dinner. The wood fired carrots are a showstopper. They were so delicious with the whipped feta cream and hazelnuts. They have a hearth pizza oven so we had to get a pizza too. The pizzas are quite large. I was really stuffed sharing one. We had the Foraged vegetarian one with mushrooms, spinach, cheese, and onions. It was really lovely too. I enjoyed the food and ambience. I wanted dessert, but I was too full.

I'm currently in town for work and after a long travel day, I was looking for something quick, fresh, and not overly heavy- this spot turned out to be exactly what I needed. I went with the Burrata salad with a vinaigrette dressing, and it wasdelicious. The burrata was creamy and rich, the greens were crisp and fresh, and the vinaigrette added the perfect brightness without overpowering anything. You can really tell the ingredients are high quality and well-prepared. The service was friendly and efficient -- I felt welcomed right away. And the space itself is beautifully decorated, with a relaxed but modern vibe that makes it a great place to unwind for a bit. Overall, a great lunch and definitely a place I'd return to next time I'm in the area.

I'm not sure what to say at this point. Our first visit was wonderful. Super friendly and very attentive service. We ordered a variety of items to share and everything was excellent. We had a great time. We returned a few weeks later with some other friends because we had raved about the pizza. The service again was friendly but the pizzas weren't as good as the first time. The burrata pizza, which we had loved, had so much garlic on it that it was almost inedible. The other pizzas weren't bad, but nothing particularly special. The last time was a real disappointment. We felt like our presence was barely tolerated and that the server was being fake-friendly to us. The food wasn't good. The fish and chips was rubbery and inedible. The cole slaw was just cabbage drowning in vinegar, which ran all over the fries, rendering them soggy. The drinks weren't prepared correctly either and were missing ingredients. If that had been our first visit, we would never have returned. The place itself is very cute, warm, welcoming and inviting. I'm wondering if the server we had the last time is the same individual other people have mentioned in their reviews in which they received sub-standard service. Anyway, we'll give them one more chance in a month or so and see how it goes.

    Great salad

What a fabulous evening!! My daughter had her rehearsal and later hosted a dinner afterwards here! They were very welcoming to our large group (we had made reservations obviously- a group of 16!) We all had a nice long area for all- the service was efficient, friendly and prompt with our meals as well!! The meals were all beautifully prepared and I did not hear one complaint about anything!! That in itself is worth writing about! Great pizzas, salad, and pasta dishes- even the picky kids ate all of their meals- so, obviously it's 5 stars!!! Kudos!! We will be back when visiting the PNW!!

some of the most delicious food i've ever had in newberg/dundee!! absolutely worth stopping at for a hand fired pizza and the pork belly appetizer was to die for. pizza not pictured because we destroyed it before i realized we needed a pic.

Excellent wood fired pizza. Farm to Table Great wine selection. Best part of the meal was our adorable waitress, Lex!

Discovered this gem while staying at The Dundee Hotel. The ambiance is charming, and the service was excellent. I ordered the veggie pasta with chicken--it was absolutely delicious! Creamy, flavorful, with perfectly caramelized onions. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Decor is nice and our food was good. Wine is overpriced at mostly $18 per glass, almost as much as my husband's entree.

The bacon was legit and not from a bag, you can tell it's cooked there. I wish there was a little more cheese but overall I was happy. This is a perfect place to stop if you want to grab lunch or picnic items on your way out to the vineyards for wine tasting! Most wine tasting rooms will let you bring outside food to enjoy while you taste. So this is a go to spot for me as I prepare to enjoy my day out near the vines. All menu food is prepared from scratch, so expect to wait a reasonable amount of time for the legit goodness that awaits you. I love their sandwiches but they are known for the wood fired pizzas. The Mandatory Dundee Stop…read more Every time we spend a weekend in Oregon wine country, we somehow find ourselves back at Red Hills Market, and honestly, it has become part of the tradition. We stopped in before hitting the road home after a weekend of wine tasting, and this place continues to nail exactly what makes Dundee special: relaxed wine country vibes, great food, and a market packed with local finds you suddenly convince yourself you need to take home. The moment you walk in you catch that wood fire smell mixed with coffee, fresh bread, and wine country energy. The setup is casual and easy, order at the counter, grab a seat, and the food comes out to you. We love the rustic atmosphere here, especially the shaded outdoor seating, fire pit area, and live music nights when they have them going. Pro tip: leave extra time to wander the market while waiting for your food. There are so many unique Oregon products, wines, cheeses, snacks, and gifts packed into the space. On this trip we found a Japanese beer from one of the country's oldest breweries that incorporates sake into the brewing process. Just a cool unexpected find that perfectly fits the personality of this place. As for the food, it absolutely delivers. The breakfast sandwich was outstanding: crispy peppery bacon, an over-easy egg with yolk running into every bite, and perfectly toasted bread that gave a satisfying crunch every time. The rockfish banh mi may have been the sleeper hit of the table. Tender flaky fish, sweet garlic aioli packed with flavor, and perfectly baked bread that pulled everything together. The quiche had that perfect balance of rich savory filling and flaky crust without feeling overly heavy, the kind of thing that pairs dangerously well with a slow wine country morning. And the Reuben leaned more elevated artisan deli than greasy sandwich shop, stacked with flavorful meat, balanced tang, and toasted bread that somehow stayed crisp until the last bite. Bonus points as well for the spicy pickle spear and chips on the side. Places like Red Hills Market are what make wine country weekends memorable. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, local personality, and the kind of spot that makes visitors feel like locals for an hour or two. If you are heading to Dundee and skip Red Hills Market, you are doing it wrong.

You order at the walk-up counter where the menu includes freshly made sandwiches, soups, chilis, salads, and other local favorites. Everything is made to order and comes out quickly. I ordered the Dundee Grinder, and it was absolutely fantastic, packed with flavor and definitely not stingy on the ingredients. The appetizers were delicious and fed a large party without us having to order multiples of each dish. For an entree, I had the pork, which I felt was a bit overcooked and lacking in flavor. One of the things I found oddest about the evening was the hours of the restaurant. We dined here on a Saturday night at 7:30 - immediately after we were sat we were told we needed to order promptly because the kitchen closes at 8:00. I still don't quite understand why you would allow reservations so close to a kitchen's closing time. It ended up making the meal feel a bit rushed and lackluster. Overall, it was a perfectly adequate meal but I'm not sure I would need to stop in here again.

She said yes, but walked away and didn't return for about 10 minutes. When she came back, I asked again if the table could be cleaned so my mom wouldn't put her jacket in it, and also requested a kids menu. She huffed, wiped the table, handed us the menu, and walked away. Another 5-8 minutes went by without any greeting or drink order being taken. A second server (with long hair, who said she was the GM's daughter) came to ask if she could get us something to drink. We ordered two waters and a root beer. She then asked the original server to take our food order. When the server came to the table, she didn't greet us or say anything--just stood there. I finally spoke and suggested she start with, "Hi, what can I get started for you today?" and we placed our order. The food came out incorrectly at first (brown gravy instead of white), but it was fixed and that part was fine. While we were eating, my son needed a root beer refill. I placed the empty cup at the edge of the table, but the server ignored it. After waiting about five minutes, I went to the counter to ask for a refill. Only then did she come up and ask what I needed. I asked her for a refill and requested to speak with the manager. Another employee went to get him. I explained what had happened and told him this would be our last visit. He didn't seem overly concerned. I understand being short-staffed, but this level of disregard for guests is unacceptable. When he asked what I would like to see done, I said additional training for the server. He didn't even offer a free meal which I was expecting after the way we were treated, or heck even just take care of the whole bill. It was only $28. The food here is amazing, but due to the service we experienced tonight, we will not be returning.
