We need a place for dinner in Charbonneau, especially since traffic on I5 gets so hectic and they are open until 8 pm.

I booked on OpenTable and added a note that my mother needed a wall to place her crutches against, and they gave us 2 options. Very kind of them, and the gentleman helped my mother get situated. Service was exceptional. Food menu seemed light but enough of a variety to choose from, and it all was absolutely delicious. Had the drink School for Ants which the taste was of perfection. For lunch we shared the pears and goat cheese which by far was my favorite dish. Also ordered the ricotta gnocchi which I thought the bourguignon was a little strong but I believe that's normal, so it's just my personal preference. The Tokyo hot chicken tenders were tender and juicy, and the honey and sauce paired well together. Shout out to the staff that brought our forgotten to go box to our car. My mother wants to go back, so you won us both over!

No option to leave a message to have them call you back either. Kind of dissappointing as Salem late night options are pretty slim...I think tonight was the last night that I'm going to try to contact these people. Abrupt and rude. Lost a good potential customer....3stars because I hadn't had any interaction with this place, now it's one star for terrible customer service....

A Cubano traditionally is pork loin cooked into submission, ham Swiss cheese mustard and pickle grilled on a plancha. I dont do pickles so I ordered mine without. What i got was a grilled cheese with pulled pork bacon and smothered in pickles and onions. This was not even close to a Cubano and should not have been billed as one! I would also like to point out that those were pickled cucumber slices not actual pickles. Since I was at a function and the line for the food truck was exceptionally long. I just brought the sandwich home. I will also say the Mac and cheese was not terrible although I would rethink the pasta that is being used. It was large a overcooked. So with all that said there was some good flavor. The wait was too long for a bad sandwich made wrong. I would not purposely look for this truck .

Good: - courses aren't afraid to explore tart, sour flavors; enjoyed some of the early courses in particular - good mix of different presentation, ingredients, etc. - dessert was very good, a very strong note to end on - seating was comfortable given the cozy space; service was professional Meh: - nearly all courses lacked aromatic component to me; smells were mild and didn't trigger a strong reaction - similarly, seasoning for the mains were a little underdone to me, had to rely on sauces to get a notable flavor out of the meat - vegetables felt second class relative to the protein - pacing was a smidge on the slow side Overall I am grateful for the experience but don't expect to come back on my next Portland trip

Sunday morning at 11am my husband and I got a seat at the bar. It was pretty busy. As usual the fresh croissant was amazing, flakey, and buttery. I had the chefs omelette for the first time. It was exactly as I wanted it and the hash browns were nice and crunchy. My husband had the corned beef hash and it was so flavorful and delicious. I will order that next time. I was treated crappily by staff who I observed saying my order was not their responsibility. Not everyone there was bad. The initial service I got was good, but my coffee was so poorly slapped together because I spoke up. My sandwich was also slapped together missing ingredients I paid for, so enjoy the extra money I guess. Here's how the interaction went. I was assured my mocha would be ready in a few minutes, before my food, from a really nice staff person who too my to-go order. They instructed me where to stand. I watched the person put together my mocha. All that was needed was ice. My food came out quickly and I took it while waiting for my drink. 15 minutes passed. Two staff members looked at my drink and one said "who put this here " and another person said "I don't know, not my problem". I spoke up and said "hey that's my drink and if you put ice in it, I promise I'll get out of your way" - it was busy and packed. I was trying to be understanding. One of them made a disgusted face at me and said "I was gonna put ice in it!!!" ... wow. Eventually they did. And did it so sloppily that there was mocha all over the drink. The top was put on poorly and the drink spilled all over me. I tried to tell another server who was greeting and seating people but they kept saying "oh it's okay! It's totally fine" - no, it actually isn't. I get it. You don't want my business of 15+ years, but there are nicer ways of conveying that. I was ripped off and treated in a way I don't treat my enemies. But just like my order, that's "not your problem", right?
