Server behavior is unprofessional. I've been in many times and the bartenders and servers seem to struggle and have a negative attitude toward customers. For example, I came in to order food at 8:00pm. One server took my order and another responded, "you've got to be f***ing kidding me." Because it was so "late." Not even within an hour of closing. Other times I have visited with a friend over a drink and they sweep under us, put up chairs, turn out lights, turn off the music etc. basically do everything to rush customers away at the end of the night even when there is an hour until closing. The problem is the staff shuts the place down up to an HOUR early and it makes the place unreliable for food and unwelcoming in general. It seems the closing routine is not working for the employees. Or the hours are too long or staffing is too short? Something is making employees angry and annoyed to take orders and customers feel unwanted and awkward for ordering. It has reached the point that we won't come back, even though it is the closest restaurant and we enjoy the food... when it is available. It's a bummer. I hope they can work it out so we can support it. read more

We stopped in for a quick bite while passing through aurora. This has to be one of the last GOOD happy hour deals in the area . $9 for a burger and fries?! You can't beat that. so I was excited to try this Local spot that seems to be pretty busy and kind of a hotspot around town, but once again disappointed as always, you would think that the prime rib being their special on Saturdays that it would at least be done pretty well. they only serve it one day a week and it was the special however it was more like re-warmed roast beef worst prime I've ever had the baked potato was hard. The portions were large. The seasoning on the prime rib was a weird spice that they used to crust it with, but the actual meat had no flavor at all whatsoever. The waitress was nice. The bartender was kind of rude. He seemed bothered and annoyed to help us, and therefore he didn't get a tip at all. I feel bad for the waitress. She was very friendly and nice, but your bartender was a bit of a jerk at first started out with him not greeting us at all him cleaning the table next to us, and then a few minutes later, coming back with menus asking if he can get something to drink while it kind of ignoring us and talking to other customers, we told him water for now and he seemed bothered by that then no one came to help us for quite some time once we did get a waitress she was very friendly and attentive, and no complaints with her service really but at the end of the night when it came to pay and leave, we once dealt with the bartender again, he seemed to be the man in charge he came over gave us our bill and then tried to say something about oh I didn't add your drinks to it. I'll have to fix that and ran off but left us the bill looking at the bill. Both of our drinks were on there and I left my credit card to close out the tab with my wife sitting at the table and I went to use the restroom when I came back he had brought my card back and the to go, Box, she said he swiped my plate off the table, threw down the to go box and my credit card with receipt right into the food on the table and said oh sorry we're busy and stormed off at this point. I came back from the restroom to find my wife sort of upset and I said well fuck it leave them no tip. Let's get the fuck out of here and we won't be back although it did seem like a lovely little local place. It's just a shame. The bartender with his ego trip couldn't be a better employee with better customer service. Totally fantastic, local, small-town pub with great access and food. They're just a short distance from I-5, near the Aurora airport if you're flying into town, and right on 99. I come here for the lunch burger basket special. The burgers are respectably sized unlike so many restaurants that serve tiny patties. However, due to COVID our options were limited, but we decided on the Aurora Colony Pub since they had a heated and covered patio. We split an order of chicken gizzards and a patty melt with sidewinder fries. I hadn't had chicken gizzards in 20 years, but these were fried perfectly and served with a great horseradish sauce. I had forgotten how good these were. The patty melt was perfectly cooked and served on a great tasting rye bread. This was plenty big enough to share.
