I've been here a ton of times and realized I haven't reviewed this place. This is a great local hangout that is family friendly and good for solo or group hangouts. They have a great selection of beers on top, and aren't stingy with letting you taste before you commit. They're also great at giving you suggestions if you describe the kinds of beers that you like. For example, I don't like extremely happy beers and they have suggested several that really hit the spot for me. My latest good surprise was their "Red, White, and Blueberry Cream Ale" - from the name, I was pretty sure I wouldn't like it because I don't like fruity beers, generally. However, they suggested I give it a taste. After a sample I decided to go for a pint. Not too fruity at all. I ended up going home with a growler of the stuff. The atmosphere is nice and open, and on good weather days they open up the front to give you that true open air experience. I've been here with friends, to watch World Cup games, and with family. It's always a comfortable vibe and very enjoyable. They also have a nice menu with a lot of variety. For example I've had their burgers, tacos, various sandwiches, and other things I can't think of right now. I haven't been disappointed. If you're in the Newberg area and looking for a good local hangout, this is it. read more

Oh man! I was so in this place for the first half of our experience! Let me preface it by saying that we went on a Sunday at noon when it was 85° outside and this place has no AC. Uggh. It was positively sweltering but I was not going to let that deter my review nor my lunch. We ordered promptly - at the time there was only one other party in the restaurant and they already had our food. Appetizer and drinks arrived within minutes of ordering and food arrived shortly after that. I ordered the nachos with chicken, which had queso and were a very large portion considering they were listed as a starter. All of our food arrived as ordered and looked delicious. However, by the time we were finished eating, the restaurant had started filling up. There were only two servers and unfortunately, our server had many tables she had to keep up with. It took her 25+ min to come check on us after we had finished our meal so that we could pay the check. It was so hot that it just made the experience miserable. I would definitely give this place another chance, maybe on a cooler day. And definitely when it is less busy. read more

Happy hour, weekend specials and Wing Wednesdays? Decided to check it out on a Friday night just before 8pm. We were able to pick a seat outside in the tent area (it was perfect weather for it). This is definitely a good spot to sit and have a few beers and share some appetizers with friends or a casual date night. There's a tv to watch and tables are spaced so you can have conversations with your table. Lots of parking but the lot does get pretty dark on one side. I loved that the menu was simple and not overwhelming with options. I like the fact that they do a beer tasting flight as an option. We both ordered beers and enjoyed them. Generous portions for our 2 appetizers. Dirty fries - yum! Nice heat to it but a great sharing option. Cheese curds - Always a good go to. These were perfectly crispy on the outside I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and upgraded to Parmesan garlic fries as my side. The man ordered fish and chips also upgraded the fries. I see it has been two year since I reviewed. So here goes some updates. They have added a tent heated and air conditioned for additional seating. Moved somethings around to give more seating and added some TV. The menu ahs some additions also. Maybe a new cook? Some things stay the same. The burgers and fish tacos are still big hitters. Service is always quick and easy. They seem to have the right number of staff on the ready. Food comes pretty quick out of the kitchen but not so fast that you know they are not microwaving everything. Beer selection is always changing and rotating. Check in on the board to see what they are pouring. Also a nice sampler of you can't make up your mind or just want to try a few. read more

I won't go back. What has happened to this place? It was later in the evening on a Saturday, so not that busy- maybe 5 tables filled? We ordered many things, mostly wings, burgers and French dips. Although we ordered dip for our wings no dip came until the end of the meal. The wings themselves were all breading with no chicken. The French dip was over cooked and cold. We had to send it back and order something else. The restaurant area was over loaded with fruit flies (which I could get over if that was the only thing). On top of it all they automatically charged 20% for a large group because we had over 6 people. I would graciously pay this if the service and food was good- but hands down not the case. read more

During our 2 stop beer crawl through Newberg, we stopped here as they also had some good food options. The staff was friendly and the one guy seemed to be cheering on Penn State. so that was a plus. The Oregon Blonde beer was pretty tasty and refreshing. They had a few different beer options and this one was right up my alley. The star of the show was that Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Whenever I see one on a menu, it's hard to turn down. This one was massive and came with a huge order of fries (which were cold at first, but they had no issues making me a nice hot pile of fresh ones.). If you're in Newberg (or close by) and looking for a great place for some beer and food, give this place a try. read more

This place ıs so amazing that we only schedule our business lunches on the days they are open ! The owner has done an amazing job of creating a warm and friendly environment and ıs there to greet each guest wıth a smıle. He also has a great memory for knowing what hıs repeat customers lıke so I don't even need to order anymore. On busy days he keeps the flow movıng, ınsurıng customers get great service. On the slower days, he takes time to chat and catch up! The cooks in this place are rockstars! Food is always AMAZING and ready quickly. One thing that I absolutely do not like is cold fries. We ordered the fish and chips. The fish super small portions. Very hot and good. No complaints. On the other hand, the garlic parm fries were cold as if they were just taken out of the fridge. We did mention it to the server and he did replace with a larger appetizer size of the same cold fries. Very disappointed. I then mentioned it to the waitress and she apologized and went about her business. Needless to say, $18 for 4 very small piece's of fish and cold frig fries was not what I wanted or expected. Been here twice and really enjoyed it. Started off both times with the fried cheese curds. Just phenomenal. Maybe a little greasy-but they are fried cheese curds... The Sriracha aoli may be a little spicy for some, I thought it was perfect and had my fries with it too. They have fish and chips over the weekend. Really good fresh caught fish. Fyi- after getting the cheese curds, the fish and chips felt a little greasy to me. Only because everything I had was fried. Really good- but if getting an appetizer I'd get one that is not fries. The Burgers are legit. Among the best in Newberg. I had the green chili burger. Not really spicy, just great flavor. I ordered bacon with it. The bacon was phenomenal- but honestly not needed on this burger. I'm sure it's great on the other burgers. The service seemed a little slow on our second visit. The servers are friendly and hard working, but seem overextended. The place was packed last night. Newberg should be happy they are here and hope they continue to put out great burgers and pub food. read more

I've been here 3 times now, always on a motorcycle trip. The service has always been friendly, and the food is good. They get decent beef, and are not afraid to serve a burger rare. No fast food hockey-puck patty's here. They have too many options for fried potatoes, and I like them, but being an old guy I have to watch these or I end up with nasty heartburn. I've had a few beers here and enjoyed them. The place is a great stop by on a trip into the Willamette valley and I'm sure I'll be back. Worth hopping in if you're in town for sure. read more

Now, don't get me wrong... the beer was top notch, the burger was damn tasty... the loaded fries were pretty crazy good and even the service was five star. But...that spicy chicken sandwich was a thing a beauty. I mean...who does a full chicken thigh now adays? Soooooo good. Moral of the story, aside from chicken sandwich.. This is a nice little craft brewery tucked away from Highway 99 in Newberg. I ordered a flight of four beers ($8) and sampled a few of their offerings. Out of the four, the one that stood out most was the Summit Amber- everything else was pretty middling. I do like the fact that they represent a good variety of beer styles, and not just exclusively IPA's like many breweries do. If I can be honest, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for the beer, but the service here was AWESOME. The ladies that helped us were friendly, helpful and chatted with us even as they were winding down for the night (I didn't stay after closing, but we were definitely the last people out.) They didn't have a beer float on the menu, but they were generous enough to prepare one with a Porter they had on draft. The food menu looked pretty good too, and from seeing the kitchen and the photos on here, I would definitely be interested in trying out their offerings. Mainly, their cheese curds, which are one of my favorite menu items to try out. They also offer fried cheesecake, which I am quite intrigued by. Restrooms were clean, and they had plenty of seating and the music was played at a reasonable volume. I finally got an opportunity to stop in here since moving to Newberg, and it didn't disappoint! This is a smaller spot tucked away behind an Odd Moe's Pizza and it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. They have plenty of beer on tap, hence the word 'brewing' in the name and a good food menu. I sat at the bar since I was riding solo, and was greeted very warmly by the lady behind the bar. She was really nice and very knowledgeable about the different beers and ciders on tap. I ordered an IPA, unfortunately I forgot to take note of which one I ordered. All I can say is it was delicious. I read through the menu and everything sounded so good, but I settled on a sandwich I rate every restaurant on... The Rueben! I got a side salad with it and the onion rings were calling my name and I couldn't leave with out having some! My sandwich came out and right away the presentation was awesome! I picked up half of the sandwich and took a bite... AMAZING! That is the only word that comes to mind when I think about it. The meat to cheese to sauerkraut ratio was so perfect. There was just enough sauce that you could taste it, but it wasn't enough to make the sandwich soggy. The bread maintained it's own integrity. The salad was also amazing. It wasn't just lettuce, cheese, tomato, and croutons. It had carrot, onion, and cucumber as well. I think the star of the show were the onion rings paired with a horseradish aioli. The horseradish aioli was so good I probably could have ate it with a spoon. But paired with the savory onion rings it was pure magic. Well worth my hard earned dollars. New ownership, this place is amazing... the ambience isn't anything special, but the food is top notch! My son ate his Cowboy burger before I even took two bites, and declared it the best he has ever had... I had the Nashville fried chicken sandwich, and am so glad I did. They have REOPENED! In this time of COVID and businesses closing it was nice to see that there is a "light at the end of the tunnel". I was able to be apart of the grand reopening of Chehalem Valley Brewing Company. The place was as clean as could be with everything set up for social distancing. The building has 2 large roll-up doors which allowed you to feel like you were outside even in the dining room. This is nice because you have airflow from the outside. The place was filled to capacity (50% right now) and the service was wonderful. The food is also great! The menu is compact and features a number of pub favorites. I tried the burger and wings and will be back for more. The burger tastes like something you would do on your home BBQ. The fries were great and the wings were a lot more food than you would expect. The beers are locally made and there are a lot of options. I eventually will need to try them all. If you are on your way to the coast or in Newberg and want to check out something new and exciting, and support local business, the Chehalem Valley Brewing Company should be first on your list. read more

Dang. They were out of all five of their IPAs which was insane, but that happens to smaller breweries on Sundays, so it's alright. The food though... Holy crap. The truffle potato chips are incredible. The fried raviolis special with artichoke and feta with a tomato aioli...incredible. My man said his chicken sandwich was likely the best chicken sandwich he's ever had...ever; it had a basil aioli on it that took it up seventeen notches. And my reuben...forget about it. The thin-sliced corned beef was...you get the point. I'm only slightly disappointed it's so far outside of Portland, but I definitely CANNOT WAIT to go back. Was looking forward to this place after seeing their menu. I ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, but failed to notice it came with blue cheese slaw. It was the worst version of the sandwich I've ever had the misfortune of eating. There was very minor spices, none of which would a person find on the real sandwich. On another note, their "fresh hop IPA" had an extremely harsh aftertaste that totally was out of character for the style. The other beers in our flight were OK though. read more

Wanted to like this place... have given it several tries since ownership changed. We went last night and had 3 different beers, the Naked Blonde was palatable but the Flagship IPA was oddly sweet (cider-like), and the School's Out limited IPA was very bitter and the aftertaste unpleasant. We ordered a brussel sprout appetizer with balsamic vinegar - it was SWIMMING in an oil/vinegar "sauce". It was not crispy. The garlic aioli would have saved it, but I couldn't get passed the soupy mess. We opted not to get an entree to avoid further disappointment.
