Philly cheesesteak

Today I tried the crispy chicken ranch and it was so good. My husband got the Cowboy and that was delicious as well. Messy and SO good. So glad we found this local place, service is always great and they have events and live music as well.

I won't go back. What has happened to this place? It was later in the evening on a Saturday, so not that busy- maybe 5 tables filled? We ordered many things, mostly wings, burgers and French dips. Although we ordered dip for our wings no dip came until the end of the meal. The wings themselves were all breading with no chicken. The French dip was over cooked and cold. We had to send it back and order something else. The restaurant area was over loaded with fruit flies (which I could get over if that was the only thing). On top of it all they automatically charged 20% for a large group because we had over 6 people. I would graciously pay this if the service and food was good- but hands down not the case.

During our 2 stop beer crawl through Newberg, we stopped here as they also had some good food options. The staff was friendly and the one guy seemed to be cheering on Penn State. so that was a plus. The Oregon Blonde beer was pretty tasty and refreshing. They had a few different beer options and this one was right up my alley. The star of the show was that Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Whenever I see one on a menu, it's hard to turn down. This one was massive and came with a huge order of fries (which were cold at first, but they had no issues making me a nice hot pile of fresh ones.). If you're in Newberg (or close by) and looking for a great place for some beer and food, give this place a try.

Cheese curds! So good!

Been here twice and really enjoyed it. Started off both times with the fried cheese curds. Just phenomenal. Maybe a little greasy-but they are fried cheese curds... The Sriracha aoli may be a little spicy for some, I thought it was perfect and had my fries with it too. They have fish and chips over the weekend. Really good fresh caught fish. Fyi- after getting the cheese curds, the fish and chips felt a little greasy to me. Only because everything I had was fried. Really good- but if getting an appetizer I'd get one that is not fries. The Burgers are legit. Among the best in Newberg. I had the green chili burger. Not really spicy, just great flavor. I ordered bacon with it. The bacon was phenomenal- but honestly not needed on this burger. I'm sure it's great on the other burgers. The service seemed a little slow on our second visit. The servers are friendly and hard working, but seem overextended. The place was packed last night. Newberg should be happy they are here and hope they continue to put out great burgers and pub food.

Do you ever fall asleep dreaming of a chicken sandwich? Well, I have ever since my stop in here at Chehalem Valley Brewing. Now, don't get me wrong... the beer was top notch, the burger was damn tasty... the loaded fries were pretty crazy good and even the service was five star. But...that spicy chicken sandwich was a thing a beauty. I mean...who does a full chicken thigh now adays? Soooooo good. Moral of the story, aside from chicken sandwich.. Is yes, this is a great local joint with great food, beer and people and is 100% worth stopping in an enjoying. Cheers!

This is a nice little craft brewery tucked away from Highway 99 in Newberg. I ordered a flight of four beers ($8) and sampled a few of their offerings. Out of the four, the one that stood out most was the Summit Amber- everything else was pretty middling. I do like the fact that they represent a good variety of beer styles, and not just exclusively IPA's like many breweries do. If I can be honest, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for the beer, but the service here was AWESOME. The ladies that helped us were friendly, helpful and chatted with us even as they were winding down for the night (I didn't stay after closing, but we were definitely the last people out.) They didn't have a beer float on the menu, but they were generous enough to prepare one with a Porter they had on draft. The food menu looked pretty good too, and from seeing the kitchen and the photos on here, I would definitely be interested in trying out their offerings. Mainly, their cheese curds, which are one of my favorite menu items to try out. They also offer fried cheesecake, which I am quite intrigued by. Restrooms were clean, and they had plenty of seating and the music was played at a reasonable volume. Like I said, this isn't my favorite brewery, but I quite enjoyed my experience and look forward to visiting again.

I finally got an opportunity to stop in here since moving to Newberg, and it didn't disappoint! This is a smaller spot tucked away behind an Odd Moe's Pizza and it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. They have plenty of beer on tap, hence the word 'brewing' in the name and a good food menu. I sat at the bar since I was riding solo, and was greeted very warmly by the lady behind the bar. She was really nice and very knowledgeable about the different beers and ciders on tap. I ordered an IPA, unfortunately I forgot to take note of which one I ordered. All I can say is it was delicious. I read through the menu and everything sounded so good, but I settled on a sandwich I rate every restaurant on... The Rueben! I got a side salad with it and the onion rings were calling my name and I couldn't leave with out having some! My sandwich came out and right away the presentation was awesome! I picked up half of the sandwich and took a bite... AMAZING! That is the only word that comes to mind when I think about it. The meat to cheese to sauerkraut ratio was so perfect. There was just enough sauce that you could taste it, but it wasn't enough to make the sandwich soggy. The bread maintained it's own integrity. The salad was also amazing. It wasn't just lettuce, cheese, tomato, and croutons. It had carrot, onion, and cucumber as well. I think the star of the show were the onion rings paired with a horseradish aioli. The horseradish aioli was so good I probably could have ate it with a spoon. But paired with the savory onion rings it was pure magic. Well worth my hard earned dollars. I will definitely be coming back here, and I suggest you do as well.

Came for some live music on a Saturday night. Enjoyed a delicious Green Chili Burger, Bavarian Pretzels, and great beers! The service was great and we enjoyed the open air.

Bc she is a somm, I told her I had a question about a wine... with a nasty attitude she told me to ask someone else. WTH? I did absolutely nothing to this woman. I was in complete shock. Needless to say, we never went back and it's now been 4 YEARS. But now that they're finally selling, we just might give the place another shot. Looking forward to the new, and hopefully not petty, ownership! And yes, I agree, the food wasn't great either. I was just giving them time since they were new and trying to be nice to what I thought were new friends. One of the weirdest experiences ever.

Well first the pizzas are an average $30-$40 for a 12" or 16". We don't mind paying a premium if the product matches. This wasn't the case. They advertise wood fire pizzas, that's not what we received. On the way out I looked into the kitchen. I could only see the normal pizza ovens. The pizza did not have the classic bubbling and slightly burned spots as a wood fired pizza has. The pizza we rated at a 6 and that's a generous number. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza. Well I thought I ordered it with chicken ? I rejoiced when I found one lonely strip of flavorless chicken, the pizza was not crisp , loads of sauce and a bit on the sweet side. Usually if there any leftovers, I will take it home. This time , I forced myself to eat what I could and left the rest. Two others in our group had similar experiences. One of our party ordered a sandwich, we believe the salt shaker cap must of came off because all she could taste was salt. The good which is what pushed the rating to a 3 star. Is the customer service. My friend is handicapped and they were very accommodating to him. The beer was nice and cold. Doubtful we will back. There is a house down the road with better pizza

She said yes, but walked away and didn't return for about 10 minutes. When she came back, I asked again if the table could be cleaned so my mom wouldn't put her jacket in it, and also requested a kids menu. She huffed, wiped the table, handed us the menu, and walked away. Another 5-8 minutes went by without any greeting or drink order being taken. A second server (with long hair, who said she was the GM's daughter) came to ask if she could get us something to drink. We ordered two waters and a root beer. She then asked the original server to take our food order. When the server came to the table, she didn't greet us or say anything--just stood there. I finally spoke and suggested she start with, "Hi, what can I get started for you today?" and we placed our order. The food came out incorrectly at first (brown gravy instead of white), but it was fixed and that part was fine. While we were eating, my son needed a root beer refill. I placed the empty cup at the edge of the table, but the server ignored it. After waiting about five minutes, I went to the counter to ask for a refill. Only then did she come up and ask what I needed. I asked her for a refill and requested to speak with the manager. Another employee went to get him. I explained what had happened and told him this would be our last visit. He didn't seem overly concerned. I understand being short-staffed, but this level of disregard for guests is unacceptable. When he asked what I would like to see done, I said additional training for the server. He didn't even offer a free meal which I was expecting after the way we were treated, or heck even just take care of the whole bill. It was only $28. The food here is amazing, but due to the service we experienced tonight, we will not be returning.

First and sadly, last place we would go…read more We recently visited Heater Allen in McMinnville for their Oktoberfest with six family members, excited to support a local spot that calls itself "kid friendly." Unfortunately, the way we were treated made us feel anything but welcome. Our 3-year-old was playing with the toy bin they provide for kids inside, while we were mainly gathered outside. Like any toddler, he made a mess, but I was mindful of it and cleaned up after him when asked. About 15-20 minutes later, I noticed the entire toy bin had been removed. When I asked the staff member (manager?) why, her response was curt and dismissive--essentially saying she was tired of cleaning up after kids. She even said she "had kids too," but the tone felt more like scolding than understanding. I explained that we come to places like this because they advertise themselves as family-friendly. Instead of hospitality, we were made to feel like a burden, as though children weren't actually welcome. The worst part was overhearing her continue to talk about us to others while we were still there. That crossed the line from unprofessional to just plain rude. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. For parents constantly searching for places to enjoy a beer while their kids have space to play, I can confidently say Heater Allen is not it. If you don't want children there, don't advertise as kid-friendly--it's misleading and creates an experience that feels hostile for families.
