Hands down amazing!! I had a gluten free chocolate donut that was incredible. I already ate breakfast but we walked by and I simply had to make room! The owner/chef very friendly and helpful. We are coming here tomorrow for breakfast! Seating available both inside and outside. Nice decor with pics for sale. Back again!! Enjoyed it so much the first time.

My best friend and I love coming here for their gluten free donuts and coffee but today I simply has to add a review because look how pretty this lemon and lavender donut is! And let me tell you, it tasted better than it looked. This is spring in Oregon right here. The staff is always super helpful and accommodating and the vibe is so welcoming. I came for the gluten free beer, but we keep coming back because these we love it here.

Delicious GF, V, DF friendly brew pub with lunch options and breakfast as well! The donuts and pastries are off the hook delicious. Really cool staff, ambiance, food and music. Love this spot and can't be more thankful for allergy friendly option food and beverages in McMinnville!

I've been coming to Bierly for a few years now, and think I love it more each time I am there. It's counter service, very casual, and whoever is there is always super helpful. I live in Portland, but my parents live in the area, so I find myself recently going there on weekend mornings (only time they offer donuts) I am in town to get a delicious, classic chocolate donut. Plenty of places in Portland have gluten free donuts, but Bierly might be my favorite donut spot. On top of the bakery, they also have pub-style food which is also on point. Corn dogs, fried pickles, and soft pretzels (house-made habanero mustard is the besttt with the soft pretzels) are some of my favorites. So yea, it's a brewery with good gluten free beer but they offer so many other fun gluten free things that you really can't find a lot of places. Totally worth checking out.

Enjoyed the Red Tall English Ale!

First experience with Bierly Brewing and a fairly decent start for sure. I got their Red Tall English Ale which was a bitter session style ale. This beer had a good, smooth body to it. There is a sweetness to it as well which balances out quite well making a very fine and unique tasting beer. Looking forward to trying other beers of theirs for whenever I'm in the area.

Was only there briefly for a beer and to watch the UFO fest parade. Crazy busy because of the event but the only place available that had outside seating for us and the dogs. Sat down at this really wobbly table and waited for my wife to get us a beer. The line was long but it was moving. You had to have a mask on to get in, but they provided them at the door. My wife came back with a couple of cans of beers. I asked if she ordered any food and she said the food menu was all deep fried stuff and there was an hour wait. The beer was decent. 2.5 stars.

All delicious GF food! It was really nice for my daughter (who has celiac) to not worry about getting food that accidentally has gluten in it.

My best friend has been recommending this place for the last year, driving all the way from Portland every weekend that she's able to. We finally were able to go and ordered pretty much everything on the menu. If you're gluten-free, by far this is some of the best food I've ever tasted! When was the last time we had corn dogs? Fried pickles? Jalapeño poppers? Donuts? Everything came out fresh and hot and best of all, nothing was greasy. Batter was delicious and the donuts were dense and covered with frosting. A beer selection that had double digits choices of gluten-free beer, including a few featured from another brewery. I ordered a flight and tried my friends drinks and ate so much! Onion rings! I forgot about those. Those and the pickles were so delicious. Well, so was the corn dog... Our waitress was so helpful and heard that we were visiting so she ended up bringing us a card of one of the breweries that they were guest featuring. She talked about the great community of gluten-free breweries and how they like to promote each other and I absolutely love that. We were there until they closed down and I'm certain they saw us practically licking the crumbs from our plates, because as we were about to head out, they handed my friend a box of four donuts for us to take home on the house. That goes way above customer service and I just cannot say enough about this place. The beautiful thing is I was able to take the donuts to my sister-in-law and two nieces who are gluten-free and they were in heaven. They now have a destination to come to!! The last thing I will say is that they have a great Instagram account and update it very frequently on the types of donuts or specialty items that are on the menu during the weekend. Since they are only open a couple days of the week, it's really great to see what is coming up. They also take requests and really pay attention to the feedback. I am certain that if I lived closer, I would be there every single weekend. Plus, right now there's all this really cute outdoor seating so it feels really safe and just relaxing being there. PS This is a really minor detail, but one that I thought was worth pointing out. The bathroom is just a one stall room that's spacious and decent, but I noticed that they had diapers and one of those little training toilet seats for customers. That is such a thoughtful detail as I know so many families who want to come out but are navigating tiny ones. Well done, Bierly!

My partner is Celiac and has a servere gluten allergy and so she was pointed in this direction. We got four donuts, a pretzel, two beers, and a charcuterie plate. All completely gluten free! Quote from my Celiac partner: "I like beer, I like donuts, I like baguettes, I like sausage. These are all my favourite things." The place is small but very accommodating to their customers. When we arrived, they were finishing up some big pre-orders. We were told that all donuts are cooked to order, so it would be about twenty minutes if we wanted to wait. We wanted to wait. Completely worth it, the staff are incredible, and it's next to impossible to find good quality gluten-free product that taste amazing. We have definitely found a regular location to spend time at.

First and sadly, last place we would go…read more We recently visited Heater Allen in McMinnville for their Oktoberfest with six family members, excited to support a local spot that calls itself "kid friendly." Unfortunately, the way we were treated made us feel anything but welcome. Our 3-year-old was playing with the toy bin they provide for kids inside, while we were mainly gathered outside. Like any toddler, he made a mess, but I was mindful of it and cleaned up after him when asked. About 15-20 minutes later, I noticed the entire toy bin had been removed. When I asked the staff member (manager?) why, her response was curt and dismissive--essentially saying she was tired of cleaning up after kids. She even said she "had kids too," but the tone felt more like scolding than understanding. I explained that we come to places like this because they advertise themselves as family-friendly. Instead of hospitality, we were made to feel like a burden, as though children weren't actually welcome. The worst part was overhearing her continue to talk about us to others while we were still there. That crossed the line from unprofessional to just plain rude. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere. For parents constantly searching for places to enjoy a beer while their kids have space to play, I can confidently say Heater Allen is not it. If you don't want children there, don't advertise as kid-friendly--it's misleading and creates an experience that feels hostile for families.

The Batch 3 Imperial Barrel Aged Stout was very good with it's cinnamon, chocolate and bourbon highlights. Investigating further into the brewery Google has it listed as temporarily closed and further prodding on my part on Facebook reveals that the owners have been doing well with the business but are deciding to sell it since they don't feel like they have the time to properly run it. I did not learn that new ownership has taken over the reigns yet. So it sounds like the taproom is closed but perhaps call ahead if possible to see if someone is there rather than going there to find the taproom not open. The owner's boyfriend, who is part of the team running the place,…read moreconfronted me and my 67-year-old mother in a way that was hostile, physically intrusive, and genuinely unsafe. We left shaken and have not been back. How does a man who has never spoken to you, never met your dog, and knows nothing about your life already hate you -- and need you to know it? That is the question I am still trying to answer about this person. I had felt his eyes on me from across the room before either encounter, like he was waiting to be released. When he finally was, he came over not to talk but to deliver two messages at once: how impressive he was, and how little he thought of me. It happened on two consecutive days. The first day was brief. I complimented his dog and wondered aloud if my newly adopted rescue might share some of that breed. He answered with contempt: "Absolutely not. Your dog is nothing but a pure pit bull." He had never met or been near my dog. I let it go. The next day, his roughly 100-pound dog was growling, snarling, and baring its teeth at me and my mother from a few feet away. We had not interacted with the dog or said a word about it. Then he stood up, walked over, blocked our path to the door, stopped a foot from my face, and held a pointed finger about three inches from my eye. He kept it there while he told me my dog was violent, every dog in the brewery was terrified of him, I had never trained him, I did not understand responsibility, and he was no longer welcome. He delivered all of this in the same breath as a running commentary on how exceptional his own dog was. I'm no psychologist, but the shape of it was hard to miss. He was condemning my dog for behavior his own dog was actually doing. He was condemning me for reasons I still cannot name. And he needed me, in the same breath, to know how superior his dog was to mine. Hatred without cause, accusation by projection, and a need to elevate himself over a stranger. It was schoolyard bullying with adult body language and an owner's authority behind it. None of it was true. My dog is a three-day-old rescue still learning that the world is safe. He is not aggressive. He has never in his life attacked another dog. He comes from trauma and is finally somewhere he is loved. At Root and Rye there was no incident -- no bad behavior, nothing close to violent. Dogs frolicked. They respected each other's space. They were warm to him. All afternoon the manager on duty came by our table to pet him, ask about him, and show real interest. Families came over to say hello. Four children crouched down to let him kiss their faces. No dog had a problem with him. No person had a problem with him. The owner's boyfriend was the only one in the room with a problem -- and the problem was not us. His natural tendency appears to be to find a target and terrorize them with insults and abuse. We were simply the ones in front of him that day. My mother later told me that was the moment she felt unsafe. I did not know what he was going to do next. We left and did not come back. The question that stayed with us after we left was not whether he was rude or unprofessional. It was whether he was dangerous, and if so, in what way. I still do not know the answer. This is otherwise a nice place. That is why this matters. Someone connected to ownership is using that position to walk up to people he does not know and unload contempt he could not possibly have earned. The owner's boyfriend gives Root and Rye an unhealthy, dark, creepy vibe that is completely unnecessary to a brewery this otherwise lovely. To the owner, if you are reading this -- you can do better, sister. Until this is addressed, I cannot recommend going, particularly with a dog, and particularly with anyone you would not want cornered by an angry stranger with a finger in their face.

I ordered the 3 piece fish and chips and a bottle of IBC root beer. The fish pieces were Alaskan cod, tender and with delicious, mild flavor. The cod was covered in a panko crust. I did squirt a bit of malt vinegar on the fish as I like that flavor. The plate came with fries and coleslaw. I am not much of a coleslaw person but this was pretty good. The fish came with a tasty tarter sauce which I just used to dip my fries into. My sister couldn't finish the pulled pork sandwich she ordered so I had some of that too. The pork was tender and flavorful although I wasn't overly fond of the bbq sauce they used. I had dessert! Celia's Homemade Oregon Berry Cobbler. Wow!
