best place for a craft beer in Canby. Independent shop in stripmall on 1st. Not a flashy, obvious place to spot, tucked away a bit. The locals know though. Been here twice - Generous line-up of a wide-assortment of ale, cider, wine, kombucha. Very fresh. No food, but you are welcome to bring in from other vendors. I was happy to see a table full of old timers - enjoying brew and conversation, the type of folks you'd see at an American Legion Hall. Nice, friendly. Some tap shops don't allow samples, but here they obliged. They host small events, brewery nights. Pretty spacious too for soc. distancing. Festive decor with the beer signs. Parking - yes, but shares w other business, so a bit cramped. read more

The place is very clean and in the same parking is a Dutch Brothers, A&W, KFC, and a Thai restaurant. FOB is no longer veteran owned (go figure with the name) and has kept the name. Has a relaxed atmosphere, new leather furniture, updated lighting, trivia night on Wednesday's, Veterans Day is held once a month, and the business supports all civil servants, military, police, fire and rescue, active duty, reserve, and retired. There isn't a better craft brew selection within 30 miles. The owners painstakingly provide the best most unique selection available. There a a great group of people that have a similar interest in good beer and good times at FOB. The recent upgrades to the place are well worth a second visit if it's been a while. The tent is a permanent and is like tail gating at your favorite ball game. The owner Steve has provided a safe, clean and upstanding place to enjoy the best beer you can find. Over the past year, I have stopped at this place once or twice. In those trips I have seen the place server outstanding unique and hard to find beers. There are beers there that you can't or wont' find anywhere but here. Dogfish, Anderson Valley, One off kegs and small batches from the big guys in PDX and the great breweries in OR. The owner told me he goes out of his way to investigate and review breweries everywhere in the state. Every one of the stickers on the fridge are from places he has visited and beer he has tasted. The staff may be young, but people stop in just to see those ladies and the owner is almost always on site. I bet you won't find a cleaner better run organization. I also bet that if you sit there long enough, you will find someone willing to just shoot the sh** about anything. I only wish I could stop in there more often to see what's next on the tap list. Just a hint. The staff are trained to pour a # (number, get the pun) cause the names and the breweries change out so often. Yea the beer is that good. read more

Beer selection - amazing!!! So many to choose from. They have a wide range of craft beers, ciders & wine. My favorites were 21st Amendment (wheat ale with watermelon), Leavenworth, Atlas (blackberry cider) & Ace (pineapple cider). The bartender was very sweet & talkative. She let us sample a few beers/ciders before ordering. The atmosphere is so chill! Good music, TV, Board games, oh & also, you can take your own food & eat while you enjoy a cold one! Seriously, so awesome! You can also take your favorite beer/cider/wine home in a glass jug they sale there. So in love with this place! Can't wait to go back! read more

5 stars for the beer( very tasty) but less three for service. Im admittedly new at the growler filling process but getting home and realizing that I paid for a gallon and received barely over 1/2 gallon was a huge let down. A specialty beer location should be an expert at this process. Hard to envision returning here. Your staff should be trained experts at how to fulfill your obligation of delivering what you charge for. read more

There are two large communal tables, a lounge area with leather couches, a big bar and plenty of tables. Service is great and friendly. FOB is easily one of my favorite bars in Canby area. 36 remarkable craft beers, ciders and wine selections rotating daily. There is always some new local area brew on tap I get to sample when I come in. No food in the bar, but you can always have the excellent Thai Corner Cuisine restaurant next door deliver to you at the bar, or they allow outside food to be brought in as well. What makes this place great though is the friendly atmosphere from the owner and servers to the patrons that come in. The bar staff Kenzi, Amanda and Jenn are easily the best asset to the FOB experience. read more

Great beer selection, but I've had the same person pouring beers several times and she's just the worst. Doesn't know the beers on tap. I visited during the day when there was one other customer. Asked for another beer and she poured me the wrong one. I want this place to do well, but they need to train their staff better. Also, $4 for a half pint (when a regular pint is $5) is seriously ridiculous. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday to eat some lunch (from the nearby White Rabbit Bakery) and try some beer. We were the only people when we walked in. Chuck was AMAZING! Super friendly, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to his beer (seriously, how does he keep it all straight?!?). He makes the tables and shelves himself and in very devoted to furthering his business. Outstanding beer selection in a very nice interior. Very nice and helpful staff too. Unfortunately, they are in a strip mall along 99 rather than downtown Canby. The latter would give the place a better ambiance. The other unfortunate thing is that they don't serve food. Yes, you can order from a mediocre takeout place nearby, but a real kitchen would be fantastic, and would also allow them to permit minors on the premises. Anyhow, this place is a great resource for Canby and the area, but not everything you might want in one place. read more

Outstanding beer selection and very cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, they hired a nuisance blonde teenager as their weekend bartender, which was sadly my first and only experience here. She couldn't figure out what number the beer I asked for was when I asked for it by name and brewery, she tried to get me to sign for a cash payment, and then she poured a 12oz beer when it was supposed to be a 16oz pour. On top of all that, not only do they close at 6 on Sundays but, the music is simply put: something you would find in a teenagers ipod. Too bad I won't return. Wilsonville has the beer station and that place is ALWAYS on point in every aspect. read more
