First time here. Had no expectations. Looks like a homey country restaurant. Lots of wood upon walking in. Mild decor on the wall which was nice. Not too loud so to speak. They also have outdoor seating but hubby wanted to enjoy the AC. Saw their special on the NY steak with mushrooms and bleu cheese on the board as soon as we walked in. We were seated right away. I ordered the NY steak special and a side salad. Hubby ordered the prime rib and a side salad. The salad was simple. Lettuce, some cheese and a cherry tomato with your choice of dressing. The steaks both came with your choice of potato (mashed or baked) and green beans. Seasoning on the green beans were mild with some garlic. It worked. 3 large pieces of butter comes with your baked potato. That was quite a bit. NY steak had tons of bleu cheese and mushrooms. I actually only ate half and took the rest home. Ribeye was just ok. Didn't seem cooked evenly and lacked seasoning. Hubby had to add salt. Will have to return and try a different dish and maybe a dessert next time. read more

This place rocks! Every town deserves to have a Wild Hare Saloon restaurant. A confident young man greeted and seated our party of 7. We sat on their good sized outdoor covered patio. This was a great setting for our loud and fun group. Our server, Jill, came right over and took our drink order... I think she could tell we were thirsty. We all ordered cocktails and beers. The Wild Hare has a great cocktail menu and a large menu of appetizers, big salads, burgers, sandwiches, steak, pasta, etc. The prices were very reasonable. I saw another table with what appeared to be a huge taco salad. I was hungry, but wanted something fresh, so I ordered the taco salad. Our table's food came out of the kitchen in 15-20 mins. That was fast considering it was a busy restaurant and we were a party of 7. They definitely have a well ran kitchen brigade. My salad was served in a freshly fried tortilla shell and filled with fresh ingredients and a flavorful taco meat. Everyone else also enjoyed their food. Our server Jill stayed on top of the continuous drink orders, with a smile and great attitude. This is a well ran and managed restaurant...other than I think their prices are too low for the quality and quantity of food you are served . I only wish that they would open a restaurant in my community in central California. With that said, if I was anywhere within 30 miles, I would drive out of my way to eat at the Wild Hare. read more

Don't order a margarita unless you just want a taster. The glass size is slightly larger than what you'd get in a tasting flight and packed with ice. I guess they just want you to keep ordering. We ordered the coconut shrimp and it was way overcooked. Dark brown and chewy. It was obvious whoever was cooking left it in the deep fryer way too long and then made the decision to send it out anyway. I would have sent it back but husband was hungry and didn't want to wait. My son is 10 years old, and I've been trying to get him away from fast food like McDonald's. He's got a grown man's appetite now, so we've been trying different restaurants to find burgers and meals that are actually filling and good quality. Service is good and attentive, the menu is extensive with far more than I've listed here and the live music can be loud, but the food is good food and there's lots of it. I am a customer who has dining at the Wild Hare in Canby since they first opened we went with friends on Saturday the 16th at 2:00 . I was so disappointed I ordered a steak it was thin the quality of beef was bad! It was cold and had some strange spice or marinade on it that tasted like fish and made me sick, my green beans were cold with a strange garlic oil that tasted terrible my baked potatoe was cold I asked for it loaded half of the condiments were missing my side of mushrooms never came , my salad was wilted and had the wrong dressing. I felt sorry for the staff they were nervous and tense and trying not to show it. Something is wrong!! This needs to be fixed! read more

The service is great, they are very attentive. The food was average for me, excellent for my 10 yr old. The last time I had the nachos appetizer as an entree, and it was OK. This time I tried the French dip. It was dreadful. Cheese and mushrooms ruined it. Thick, tasteless beef. Soggy bun and tasteless Au Jus. Think it is about the third time here. Generous portions, prices are reasonable for what you are getting. Service is usually pretty good and they were trying. However someone admitted that a lot of new people were on. Common problem these days. As typical we ordered too much food. Half pound burger with fries for me, onion rings for us both and the fondue appetizer for my wife. Small but interesting beer selection and my wife enjoyed her lemonade. I finished the burger and a bit of the fries and onion rings the next day. And we finished off the fondue the same evening. Only complaint is that such a substantial burger needs a bit more sturdy bun in my opinion. In short even with it being a bit of a drive for us we will be back. read more

We were craving some live music and came across this venue. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service. It's not fancy but it's quaint and clean. We ordered onion rings the shrimp tacos and hubby had the rueben. All the food is fantastic but the onion rings are awesome! The concert after was outdoors and we enjoyed listening to the cover bands featuring Blondie and Duran Duran. The music and food was just what we needed. It's a place in Canby, Oregon but was well worth the drive. We will return for more music ( check out their lineup on their website) and food! In my quest for a quality chili cheeseburger, this place ranks very highly They do a great job in delivering a true open face chili cheese burger- the chili and cheese are generously spread across both sides of the bun instead of only on top of the meat with the top of the bun face down and slightly off center the way a national chain that shall go unnamed believes qualified for "open face". The wife went for a turkey melt and she reported that it was quite good. I was sad to learn that they no longer serve fresh brewed Ice Tea however. The place is comfortable, clean and tables are plenty big enough to spread out and enjoy our meal. The service could have been better and the only reason I went with three vs four stars. While my food was good, it would have been better if it came with the thousand island dressing I requested. Had my server checked back with us even once after the food was delivered (by someone else) it could have been made right. Fortunately other team members were around to refill our water glasses and bring us the check. Hopefully if we go back, we won't be in her section again. read more

I have to wonder what happened to this place. This morning my wife and I had breakfast that was something you'd expect from a military boot camp. We both had their country potatoes, which were soaked in oil and mushy. They also used what appeared to be country gravy out of a can or jar. It was bland and looked an awful lot like cat food. The table items were dirty, pepper shaker covered in sticky food remnants like a child had slobbered all over it. They also used some off brand shelf stable non-dairy creamer for the coffee that tasted terrible. I asked about milk and she said "we have real cream, would you like some" *face palm* when folks ask for cream bring the cream and not the crap. read more

Food and service were great. Partner went for the special -a soup and salad deal- I was skeptical, clam chowder with a shrimp salad - I was wrong, both were really good. My burger, selected from lots of burger options was also better than fine- and the prices were certainly in line with the portion sizes and quality. Its a standard bar/restaurant. The food was good, your normal dishes like burgers, pasta dishes, home style items like meatloaf. The staff was great, very polite and punctual.
