The hamburger was sour rotten, and then the service wasn't service. Sat there waiting and then the waitress threw the menu towards me and fell on the floor. I got my order to go. Thats when the food was so bad my dog wouldn't even touch. They need to hire better help and the cook should be fired for service spoiled food. Never ever going back. read more

This unassuming 50's diner in Hubbard is a must stop. They're serving up great burgers, fries, and shakes. Inside you're surrounded by 50's decor. They changed their menu and breakfast is no longer an all day thing. The prices do not reflect the portions of food you get and are quite overpriced now. Their meat patties are small and thin and do not taste good, they taste like soy burger meat you get from schools. The mashed potatoes are not homemade and are instant. They sell milkshakes but they don't have the oreo flavor that almost everyone would had wanted. The tall blonde woman with the glasses is also always mad and abusing her waitresses and cussing. They play old classic popeye cartoons and I don't think it's a good idea to be showing popeye or looney tunes that is WW2 Hitler propaganda when we are on the brink of WW3. Their jukebox has also been broken for many years not playing music and they are too lazy to fix it as it's prob a burnt out fuse or tube or capacitor. read more

We had heard great things about the burgers here so we made the trek to try them out. We were not disappointed! We love local diner style restaurants! Be patient when you arrive here. You have to wait your turn to order and the food is made to order. Yes, you'll have to wait a bit but it's totally worth it. The burgers and fries are very simple but full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Traditional toppings of lettuce, tomatoes, relish and sauces are added. FYI: If you're not a sweet pickle fan skip the relish. I'm a dill pickle lover but not a huge fan of the sweet pickles so I would have left that off if I had known. Even with the relish it was still delicious! Do NOT skip the fry sauce though. It's a must have to go with those old school tots to give them that throw back flavor. We loved the hand written "Thank you" on the brown bags and the candies added to the bag too. Route 99E travels through the towns of the fertile Willamette Valley. Some have grown up into Portland bedroom communities since. About 10 years ago someone went crazy on an old roadside diner theme. They have probably every Betty Boop item, metal car models, old license plates, reproduction gas pumps and an old juke box. That lands them a place on my Museum of Oddities List. The food is classic diner: breakfast all day, burgers, sandwiches, shakes. They have tater tots, which were invented in Oregon. The burger with tots and potato salad is very inexpensive. It's not really spiced - so it also is added to my bland list. The staff was nice. They have a carry out window under an awning. We saw many bicyclists using it on a Summer day. read more

Well BH was always my to go place when I wanted a good meal at reasonable prices. Not anymore. They have raised their prices and cut their portions. The coke slaw is half the amount it used to be as well as the tuna sandwich. They have raised their prices as much as 2.00 per menu item. So I was cruising through Hubbard yesterday... wait a moment... savor that opening line for a moment. How many times in my life will I be able to say I was cruising through Hubbard, Oregon? How times have you? Well you know what? After finding this little gem of a burger joint I'm going to try and find more reasons. On the west side of Highway 551 sits the most unassuming little white building with a sign out front. I don't know what made me stop there, maybe it was hunger and not wanting to double back to Aurora, maybe it was cosmic interference or just karma from some unselfish deed but I felt strong about coming here. In I walked to a long rectangle of a 50s diner. Burgers are the specialty but they can handle breakfast and appetizers and some dinner plates too. It is a simple menu and the prices are very fair. It is like the anti-Red Robin. There is a gas pump along the back wall and a TV that was showing vintage black and white Popeye cartoons. 50s memorabilia adorned every inch of the walls above the assorted booths and tables. It was kitsch on Red Bull or maybe organized hording but it works here. Waitresses hustled along moving good food from kitchen to table with great speed and they were downright friendly also. Iced tea was excellent probably just Lipton but it was fresh and cold on this 97 degree afternoon. I enjoyed chowing down here and wish I had a few more minutes to really enjoy the surroundings but I was on a schedule. As I finished up and motioned for the bill Popeye and had just punched Bluto into the next county and I knew that is where I needed to be too, the next county, but I was very glad the cosmos led me here and I hope I get to return soon. read more

With a name like "Burger Hut", I went in with pretty high expectations. I thought it was just okay. I had the single patty burger with cheese and bacon. When it arrived, the plate looked great (see my picture). Then I noticed when I picked up the burger the cheese hadn't even melted. The burger itself was dry and not much flavor. Couldn't even identify the bacon without dissecting the burger to find it. Lots of lettuce. The fries were perfectly cooked but, I think it's largely due to my always ordering them 'extra crispy please' as I've found that's the only way to get them cooked properly. Coleslaw was very good. Overall, just a below average bacon cheeseburger at a place I'd expect to get an above average one. read more

The burger were at average at best. Very soggy because they use excessive mayo, thin patties and small in size. The burgers kind of tastes like article circles.
