I marked my calendar, to stop here for a to-go order, after my Swan Island Dahlias Festival event, but it didn't happened this year, instead, we stopped here for lunch and dined in. We were greeted promptly, and seated and ordered right away. It didn't take too long to arrive. We both had clam chowder, for the side. Hubby ordered the Rack of Lamb, which was very very good! It came with baked potatoes & fresh green beans. My order was Reuben Sandwich. It was also very good, but I filled up on the chowder, so I only ate 1/4th. The rest for another meal. We also ordered an appetizer to-go, the Hawaiian Short Ribs, which to me tasted more like Beef Bulgogi. We broiled it more when we got home, now it's perfectly and tasted so like our normal home-made Korean Bulgogi. The restrooms were clean, the women's washroom also has a male urinal (unisex). Yum! Simply Yum! All of the food was delicious. Outside, and interior feels small town. When you walk in it has a mix of adult bar, meets family friendly restaurant. We were met with smiles, and shown to our table very quickly. Water and drinks were brought promptly, and our server was amazingly patient as we didn't know our exact small party size. She set us up for the extra people that may be joining us. When they got there she gave them the same attention we got when we arrived. The food was AMAZING! The steak was cooked perfectly, the blue cheese on top was creamy and tasty. The appetizers came out with enough time between it and the main course. The loaded fries were crispy, even with the toppings in there. The artichoke dip was devoured, along with the chips and bread it was served with. The kids burger was cooked perfectly, and the kiddo ate more of it than normal. The marinara pasta was delicious, and completely eaten. The Alfredo was delicious and creamy, but after a few minutes of eating the butter and sauce started separating making a pretty oily mess and became a bit less appetizing. Drinks were tasty, made with a fair amount of alcohol, and I felt like I got my monies worth in those drinks. I will definitely come back here with friends/family. The food was delicious! My husband and friends planned a surprise party for me. We had been coming to this place for years under different ownership. After having a few good meals here it seems like the food has been losing some quality. The clam chowder has gotten thin and watery and other items are basic frozen food items. Our last visit we tried the meatloaf. I do NOT recommend it at all. It was terrible! The rib eye was very fatty but cooked nicely. The burger was good. The service was friendly as always but very slow for only a few tables being occupied in the restaurant. We might stop in here again in the future but after 2, no so great, meals here it won't be a first choice. read more

We were greeted promptly and the service was great. Our waiter was very helpful and gave us outstanding service. As you enter we sat to the left. There are games in the back and some kids came in mid meal and played a few rounds. It was very loud. Sit on the other side. My French dip was just ok. The meat was a bit old and dry, so the dip took care of that problem. My friend's chicken bits that were added to his Scampi pasta was exceptionally dry and old. I ordered the chicken Alfredo which was pretty good. My wife ordered the new York steak. Steak wasn't all that great. Overall the food was good. The service however could have been better. Food took awhile to come which isn't that big of a deal. But in addition we never got offered refills on our drinks when they would come by and it took forever to get our ticket even after they had already giving us a to go box making it obvious we were ready to leave. Second-time here. The front of the house is awesome-- Sierra was super behind the bar and Travis is always an awesome host. They have a super menu. Be sure to check out the variety of options. On the alcohol side, there is a full bar and they offer a good selection of wines and ales. I was kind of hungry when I came, so went to the appetizer selections -- i ended with the Kalbi (Hawaiian style) short ribs -- similar to what I ate in Kihei, Maui. OUTSTANDING! I later found out the inspiration for this dish came from there. So you want a place with attractive and attentive servers, and also good food? Come on in! Great, kind, wonderful staff, excellent food, and I love the daily dinner specials! Their smash burgers are a great value on Tuesdays! Fresh, and they have GF buns for burgers. We've eaten the steaks - excellent and very fairly priced. They have VISION Cider company cider and the mango is EPIC and made in Aurora, OR just south of the restaurant. Not been here for breakfast, but love their happy hour. It's got a great feel with a modern yet western vibe right in north Canby, OR. Highly recommend. read more

It was a horrible experience. I ordered baked potatoes. I asked the waitress what is inside the baked potatoes, and the waitress replied sounding like they are normal baked potatoes (which comes with bacon, green onions and cheese). But it turned out they are just plain baked potatoes with cheese. The food was horrible since one potato I ordered came out as a plain one, and the other one came out with just cheese on top. What a great find, I believe it's located in or Near Canby. We started in Oregon City, through West Linn. Took the Canby Ferry to cross the river (fun!) The restaurant was neat and clean, the food was fresh. The bathrooms were a bit odd. You could barely sit down and your face was almost smashed into the wall in front of you. But I guess we weren't there to see the bathrooms ‍. Need a little entertainment? There's the gambling machines in the back- maybe win some $ to pay for lunch or make it a very expensive lunch! Ha! Wow! I was blown away by my first experience at Jarboe's. We came at lunch, so there were only a few patrons. It was a warm sunny afternoon, so my husband and I sat outside. Both our server and the owner (Travis?) we're extremely welcoming and kind. I was deciding between the steak salad and the Philly cheesesteak...and let me tell you, the salad did not disappoint! Don't eat here!! Went into this place with a party of 6. We each ordered something different and it was ALL terrible. My husband ordered the lettuce wraps that were inedible, the lettuce was wilted and the "ginger chicken" was a literal soup of sauce, chicken and peanuts. The "prime rib" quesadilla was completely dry roast beef at best with a side of salsa from a jar. Nachos had no cheese. Everyone in my group had a stomach ache later that night. My steak was cooked to my liking and flavorful but the sides were not so good. My baked potato was hard and cold definitely signs of day old potato. The sautéed mushrooms and onions were bland as well as the green beans. Now the question... would I return or recommend. Most definitely Yelpers... I can't help but to note that the food however is similar to the other bars in town and certainly not the quality or ambiance of what Jarboe's was the last time it was in business. I ordered the most expensive item on their menu at my last visit and it came out cold and dry. I want to live this business as it's local and I remember their food of several years ago. First visit and we'll be back! I had the halibut tacos which were very tasty. My husband had a burger which was also very good. The front of the restaurant is the bar area and it was pretty loud so we opted for the side room, which also ended up being really loud with a couple of large parties. This is our first visit here since they reopened under new ownership, we came for dinner and had a fabulous time. This place has historically been more of a bar atmosphere but this was much more family friendly. They still have a bar, which is where we sat. Bartender was super friendly, cocktail was very good, they've got a nice selection. We had a New York with Bearnaise sauce and the Lamb with Chimichurri, both were absolutely delicious. The steak had great flavor and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Both plates were around 30-35 dollars but the New York is prime beef and worth the price. The new owner Travis is originally from Canby and he was walking around talking to everyone. Great atmosphere. So happy someone revived this place! read more

One star for the super friendly service. One star for the food. It was so ... not good. And we were so disappointed. I ordered the meatloaf, which was delivered with a steak knife. Despite my intense hopes that it would not be required, it really really was. Meat "loaf" doesn't describe the texture of this dish. Maybe meatplank? It was as hard and tough as it was flavorless. The sides were also less than delicious. Chewy green beans and mashed potatoes with what appeared to be canned gravy? The potatoes themselves were okay. Hubby had fish and chips which he described as a big blah. The fries were pretty good, I have to admit. Overall a huge disappointment after all the great reviews; we'll pass on a return visit. Had a great experience here last Sunday for dinner. The place was almost empty so we had great service. I got the Philly cheesesteak, the others at my table got the Ruben, chicken strips, French dip, stuffed mushrooms, and the bacon wrapped pickles. Just had dinner at Jarboe's...yelp needs to add a 6 star rating. We've eaten there ten plus times since it opened. My go to meal was the prime French dip and tots. Tonight I tried the fried shrimp dinner. I expected regular fried shrimp; what I got was a big plate of tempura shrimp mana from heaven. With tots of course! Honestly the best fried shrimp I've ever eaten - and I'm pretty damn old! I started eating fried shrimp at Howard Johnson's restaurants in the 1950s. My wife had the halibut tacos and fries, she rated 5/5. The service was prompt and friendly. Our waitress checked in with us several times to see if everything was ok, we told her it was way better than ok. When we were done the manager stopped by our table and asked how our meals were. The prices were very reasonable for what we got. It's become our go to eatery. read more
