First time here after passing this place for years. Very cute and homey bar. They had live music when I was here and the place got packed. Service was super friendly even with being so busy and overwhelmed. I didn't have a chance to try their food but the drinks were great!

This is just how I like my lamb!

I marked my calendar, to stop here for a to-go order, after my Swan Island Dahlias Festival event, but it didn't happened this year, instead, we stopped here for lunch and dined in. We were greeted promptly, and seated and ordered right away. It didn't take too long to arrive. We both had clam chowder, for the side. Hubby ordered the Rack of Lamb, which was very very good! It came with baked potatoes & fresh green beans. My order was Reuben Sandwich. It was also very good, but I filled up on the chowder, so I only ate 1/4th. The rest for another meal. We also ordered an appetizer to-go, the Hawaiian Short Ribs, which to me tasted more like Beef Bulgogi. We broiled it more when we got home, now it's perfectly and tasted so like our normal home-made Korean Bulgogi. The restrooms were clean, the women's washroom also has a male urinal (unisex). Service were friendly. We recommended this place to our single relatives & friends!

Yum! Simply Yum! All of the food was delicious. Outside, and interior feels small town. When you walk in it has a mix of adult bar, meets family friendly restaurant. We were met with smiles, and shown to our table very quickly. Water and drinks were brought promptly, and our server was amazingly patient as we didn't know our exact small party size. She set us up for the extra people that may be joining us. When they got there she gave them the same attention we got when we arrived. The food was AMAZING! The steak was cooked perfectly, the blue cheese on top was creamy and tasty. The appetizers came out with enough time between it and the main course. The loaded fries were crispy, even with the toppings in there. The artichoke dip was devoured, along with the chips and bread it was served with. The kids burger was cooked perfectly, and the kiddo ate more of it than normal. The marinara pasta was delicious, and completely eaten. The Alfredo was delicious and creamy, but after a few minutes of eating the butter and sauce started separating making a pretty oily mess and became a bit less appetizing. Drinks were tasty, made with a fair amount of alcohol, and I felt like I got my monies worth in those drinks. I will definitely come back here with friends/family. The food was delicious! I really wanted dessert, but we all ate too much... So now a reason to go back!!!!

Beer selection and cocktails were excellent. Ribeye steak was tasteless. BUT the price was reasonable. So all in all and ok place

Got two salads to share... they were SO GOOD and great portion sizes. The spinach artichoke dip was fantastic as well. Server was quick and helpful. The ambiance/location isn't the cutest which is the only downside

Excellent food! Had roasted Brussel sprouts and Kalbi short ribs. Four days later took my daughter in law back. She enjoyed them too. Decent prices, good service and food was quickly brought out.

After having a few good meals here it seems like the food has been losing some quality. The clam chowder has gotten thin and watery and other items are basic frozen food items. Our last visit we tried the meatloaf. I do NOT recommend it at all. It was terrible! The rib eye was very fatty but cooked nicely. The burger was good. The service was friendly as always but very slow for only a few tables being occupied in the restaurant. We might stop in here again in the future but after 2, no so great, meals here it won't be a first choice.

Some good words above the bar. RIP, Anthony Bourdain.

Second-time here. The front of the house is awesome-- Sierra was super behind the bar and Travis is always an awesome host. They have a super menu. Be sure to check out the variety of options. On the alcohol side, there is a full bar and they offer a good selection of wines and ales. I was kind of hungry when I came, so went to the appetizer selections -- i ended with the Kalbi (Hawaiian style) short ribs -- similar to what I ate in Kihei, Maui. OUTSTANDING! I later found out the inspiration for this dish came from there. So you want a place with attractive and attentive servers, and also good food? Come on in! Will post review after I have a meal or two here.

I ordered the chicken Alfredo which was pretty good. My wife ordered the new York steak. Steak wasn't all that great. Overall the food was good. The service however could have been better. Food took awhile to come which isn't that big of a deal. But in addition we never got offered refills on our drinks when they would come by and it took forever to get our ticket even after they had already giving us a to go box making it obvious we were ready to leave. Could have just been our luck so I went 4 stars instead of 3.

Came here with my family and friends and the shrimp tacos were excellent! Skylar was such a great waitress and accommodating either our kids. Definitely recommend.

I've been to this building a few times over its lifetime. The new owners have got it right! Bright, clean and welcoming. We stopped in for late lunch/early dinner after a country hike. Just had entree as it was plenty for my stomach. Hope to try other menu items soon. I got the salmon dinner. My pic is after I offloaded half my potatoes and green beans to my hubby's plate.

Wow! I was blown away by my first experience at Jarboe's. We came at lunch, so there were only a few patrons. It was a warm sunny afternoon, so my husband and I sat outside. Both our server and the owner (Travis?) we're extremely welcoming and kind. I was deciding between the steak salad and the Philly cheesesteak...and let me tell you, the salad did not disappoint! The steak was good quality and cooked perfectly and all of the flavors melded perfectly together. Can't wait to go back - there are many options on the menu worth exploring!

    Day old baked potato.... Terrible.

The tables were clean and well kept, and the use of "half umbrellas" against the side of a building was a thoughtful touch. We were seated right away, and our drink orders taken right away. Our server did an excellent job, although he apologized for not coming back in time to bring me another Black Butte Porter (which I didn't plan to refill, anyway; even though it was excellent on tap). We placed an order for the "Bavarian Pretzel" appetizer, which was advertised to have a "mustard sauce" with it, and we also paid extra for their "Queso Cheese Dip". The bread itself was quite delicious, but the mustard sauce was just honey mustard salad dressing (disappointing), and the cheese appeared to be melted processed pepper jack cheese. The cheese dip was good with the bread, but we had a lot of dip leftover after the 3 pieces of bread. For a main course, I went with the Spicy Jalapeno Burger, but opted for Crispy Chicken, instead of a hamburger patty. The burger was massive, and consisted of multiple crispy chicken tenders, instead of one large chicken patty -- which is all good, but did make it tricky to eat, as the multiple pieces wanted to slide around. It was very good, but I think I would try the actual burger next time. I chose French fries for my side, and was disappointed that they were "battered" fries, which are not my favorite. The portion was also a little on the skimpy side. I would definitely come back again, even if there are a few small things that keep me from giving top marks.

We have always been fans of the McMenamins family of restaurants, hotels, and bars. After living in…read morethe Pacific Northwest for many years, we had the chance to visit quite a few of their locations and have always admired their unique approach to hospitality. One of the things we appreciate most is how McMenamins thoughtfully rehabilitates historic properties, preserving their character while giving them new life as welcoming places to gather. Each location seems to have its own personality and story, which makes visiting them feel special. Today, we had the opportunity to stop by this location, which we had not visited before. We were only planning to grab a quick lunch/dinner and get back on the road, so we didn't explore the property or dive into its history on this visit, but it's clearly a place worth spending more time at in the future. For our meal, my wife ordered a salad, I ordered a pizza, and we shared a side of Cajun tots with their housemade Ranch. Everything was enjoyable and hit the spot for a casual, satisfying stop. We'd happily return when we have more time to take in the full experience. A few things we've noticed over the years from our experiences with McMenamins: Many of their establishments introduce you to pieces of history you never really knew existed. There's often a surprising depth to the stories behind the properties, and even a quick visit can leave you wanting to learn more. Their beer can be very tasty and original, with a variety of offerings that feel thoughtfully crafted and true to their brand. As for the food, it generally lands in the realm of upscale bar fare, or perhaps bar food that wants to be upscale. Most menus are fairly similar from location to location. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and enjoyable; it just sometimes feels like it's presenting itself as something a bit more elevated than it actually is. The pricing tends to follow that same pattern, occasionally feeling a bit ambitious for what's being served. Service can be great, but it can also be hit or miss, and it's wise to be prepared to wait a little longer than expected at times. That said, the atmosphere and grounds at many of their locations are truly outstanding. You can wander the properties for quite a while at many of their locations and still not see everything. The level of detail throughout, both inside and out, is often absolutely amazing and is what really sets McMenamins apart.
