Good service and atmosphere , however majority our food came out cold. Specially regular eggs Benedict : eggs were runny and cold, sausage was warmer than my main meal. Wife's eggs were cold as well as her toast. Eggs Benedict w/crab. Way over priced for the amount of crab on the runny eggs. Atmosphere didn't offset the food experience unfortunately. This was our first time coming to this restaurant /bar. Probably should of said something to our waitress but my daughter had a friend with her and didn't want to cause issues. Super disappointed today. I've always had a great experience at Ranee's. Sadly I don't think I will be back, and after seeing the previous month's reviews it's quite apparent the staff cares little to none about their patrons. I've always sat at the bar, especially when it's empty. Apparently you MUST WAIT to be seated at the sign. The woman working the bar made us very uncomfortable with her snark comments about seating ourselves. Then chose to ignore us. Seat the next patron and loudly in front of us say "thank you for waiting at the sign." I'm an advocate for following rules, a different approach could have made things easily go differently. There was a second woman behind the bar who had her back turned the entire time and chose to ignore us as well. Being in the service industry myself, I would suggest they find a career more suited for them as they are clearly unhappy. We decided to take our business elsewhere and will continue to share our experience with others. Walked next door to Ice House and had a pleasant experience! read more

Food- we ordered the Club with fries, and the French Dip with potato chips. The Club was really good. Fresh ingredients. Fries- I'm not a fan of these style fries but they were good. The potato chip like jojos are fire. I would recommend those. Coca Cola Products. Service- was good. Our server we really liked because she didn't hover or interrupt a lot. She took our drink order, then did her rounds, took our order and food was pretty quick- especially since it was 11:30 and it was pretty busy. About 2 in the bar like area and the table area was pretty busy. Decor- it's an interesting place. It's all decked out in Halloween which is my fave. Pretty big space. Glad we checked it out. A local joint with good food, breakfast is served day. Met a friend for an early lunch where I had a breakfast burrito and she had biscuits and gravy. Huge portions and kept me full all day. Was sat quickly, and Destiny, our server, was prompt to make great suggestions on mimosa flavors. Seats are spaced for enough apart that we could hear each other just fine and in the spirit of Halloween, there was some fun decor surrounding us. Do not go for the Monte Cristo. They gave me a sad ham and turkey sandwich on some two day old thick sweet bread with a very light egg batter coating. The bread wasn't even properly warmed, the ham and turkey were bland, and they only had strawberry jam. Service and atmosphere were also very mediocre. Bottom bun was too soggy to pick up. Had to fork it. Not easy on a tray with paper under food My burger on a gluten free bun was problematic. Patty was large. Gf bun was not good. Obviously smaller than regular bun, very tough. Even steak knife was challenged cutting through it. Too much barbecue sauce. Super messy. Don't think it's worth the money and wouldn't get it again. Old-school breakfast service in a nice, local feeling bar. I sat in the bar section, seating and service were both prompt and attentive. Classic, "two over easy, with bacon, hash browns and sourdough toast", done like they had a lot of practice. Eggs over easy perfectly cooked, a choice of bacons and toast, and crispy hash browns and good sourdough buttered liberally. Couldn't have done it better myself. One star off for the decaf coffee, at $4.25 I won't get it next time, but I'll be there again next time I'm in Oregon City. read more

This is my second time here and the food is delicious! The service is fast and efficient. You are seated pretty quick and the server checked in on us several times. The last time I came I ordered the French toast and it was really good! The bread had a cinnamon flavor and it was perfectly crispy on the outside. This time I got the chicken and waffles and it is now my favorite! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the waffle was lightly sweetened. It's a very quirky place. Whoever decorated it is in a Halloween mood, with comfortable and a different decor. Friendly greeting from the barkeep was a nice start. My friend enjoyed his fish & chips. Visited several times over years to watch football. Today, a Dec Sunday was particularly great service from Ranee's hubby owner, hustling taking care of everyone but not rushed and taking time to also engage. He remembered we had called to inquire on availability of Steelers game and he would set us up and that he did, even changing over a 2nd TV on request so I could look straight ahead to watch vs turning to my right for 2 hrs Orders came out quickly despite a full house with a constant flow at the front door. 14 some TVs and about a dozen receive NFL pkg. Everyone knows it's a scratch kitchen and many were not actually honed in on the games but that which lay in front of their forks ;D Hubby devoured the chicken enchiladas and I requested whole wheat French toast as regular menu is a yummy cinnamon bread for shuga high folk: just such as moi have to watch. Owner warned me may not be as good but they Can Do and it actually exceed expectations, thick with crisp edges with just enough sweet and Sugar Free syrup available too, this was delish. Their links sausages are equally surprisingly juicy and large, not those hard little logs from the grocery store that I was expecting haha. Coffee is food supplier stock not local fancy, and that may be the only really weak link here, no espresso foo foo coffee, but this brew was a good enough medium roast, hot and plentiful. Steelers won, hubby sank a Bodhizafa IPA -juicy citrus light body big hop through the finish 6/10, chasing a shot of the Irish Mist, Jameson. At $6.50 & $9.50, I'd say the Mist is making my eyes water a tad, @ $20 bottle, it's a mid shelf stocker reaching for top wallet haha. We love visiting Ranees as it is usually one of the only decent and consistent bites in Oregon city! Their French toast is to die for and we got the insider information that they get their apple bread from market of choice! Be aware that the weekends bring crowds and a wait. Make sure everyone in your party has a valid ID as they only allow adults, no minors! We sat in the bar, service was decent. Cozy spot with great service and vibes I stopped into Renee's in Oregon City and sat in the bar section--great choice. The staff was super friendly, and a special shoutout to our server, Robin, who was incredibly kind and had some excellent recommendations. I like the variety of menu items- classic tavern items and everything was done well in my groups order. Went around Halloween time and it was decked out head to toe in decor. If you have the chance to visit during Halloween time, you should! There was no shortage of screens playing football on Sunday. Everyone at my table had a good view of at least one screen. I've been a long time supporter of Ranee's on Main. If you frequent the business often enough you learn that no one greeting you from behind the bar isn't an indication of the service you're going to receive. However, whatever has changed in her staffing/business model recently has degraded the experience. Extremely long wait time (45mins) for food (a burrito and chicken fried) when the restaurant had 2 other tables. Worse yet is the food is coming out poor quality, taste, and temperature. Whatever changed, please change it back. read more

We realized last time that they charge an excessive fee to use your credit card. In a time when almost everyone uses card that's just ridiculous. Build it into your prices because if I'd seen an extra couple dollars for every menu item I might not want to come here. And they definitely either need to research a better CC option or are making a profit with the percentage they charge (I have a business that take CC too). Thought the drinks were a little high for a dive bar in OC. And when you order a meal to go you don't want it brought out with the food you're eating there. Ranee's on Main is a restaurant that isn't afraid of trying new things while keeping a stacked menu of tried and true classics that you can expect to see at most eateries. This is my second time coming through and as my server said "there's really nothing bad on the menu" and I concur. The first time I came here I had their Eggs Benedict for breakfast and this last time I decided to try their King Salmon Fish & Chips off their Specials menu of the day. Their specials rotate fairly frequently so you can expect those to change every few weeks to keep things fresh, and as you can see there is a variety on that menu to keep your tastebuds on their toes. The atmosphere is modern and mildly quirky American all day restaurant, the a/c was running nicely and the staff is all friendly and busy always. If you're looking for a guaranteed place in downtown Oregon City to get some good eats without straying too far away from your normal expectations for a restaurant/bar, this is your place. We have been going to Ranee's for 8 years and is our absolute go to place for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast favorites: Corned Beef Hash and Loaded Hashbrowns. Dinner favorites: Honey Chicken Crunch Salad, French Dip. Get the chippy fries for your side. Service has always been great. If you want a bar atmosphere sit at the bar. First time here, stopped in by chance... love that it's adults only... love the decor very Oregon Pride!! The service was amazing.. the food was also amazing. Best Ruben I've ever had.. A note of suggestion or advice though. The monte crisco bread was waaay too thick and they burnt it... but still it was good. Great flavor! Just something to watch for.. The navy bean soup 10/10!! And I love soup. Love that they didn't just serve clam chowder.. hate that... Bloody Mary was great but a tad too Much tabasco... giving it a vinegar taste that is a bit over powering... the seaoning salt they use is fireeeeee if it were me I'd add more of that to the bloody mix.. Just some corrective criticism and I hope it dosnt come across rude because absolutely 10/10 love this place, we will absolutely be back and I will absolutely be talking about this for awhile!!! 10/10 comfortable seating!! And the bathrooms are incredibly clean!! And beautifully decorated... I've read a couple of the negative reviews but clicked on their pages and saw they only leave negative reviews.. so if you're reading those be mindful they're usually just hateful people.. Drove into town from Eugene, tired and hungry we went to a favorite haunt... Well the only thing that was good was the ambiance. The waiter scolded us the minute we arrived for not letting him seat us... oops. It got worse from there... We were excited to order the prime rib.... Yum $35.00 Soup was fabulous... Are plates came, the broccoli was so cold like it just left the fridge. Wow, so was the baked potato... I don't know if you've had a cold or baked potato lately, but that was so frigging nasty. After saying something to the waiter, he said what would you like me to do about it? I told him frankly paying $35 for cold food is ridiculous. He stuck his nose at me like I was out of my mind. I actually handed him a piece of my broccoli and I said I'm not joking here go ahead and feel it. He says what do you want me to do? heat some up? No, I don't wanna eat the fucking shit... He actually put his hands on my baked potato while I was in front of me and fell both sides of it. After owning a restaurant for 10 years that is really crazy... Love this place. Unfortunately the food on this visit was not up to their own standards. I had the chicken and waffles with a side of hash browns. The hash browns were cold and oily. The chicken strips were cold and oily. The waffle was cold and rubbery. The place is always hopping with a wait to get in so the wait staff is busting their asses try to make sure everyone is taking care of but they seem to be understaffed. My husband got the eggs Benedict which were tasty. The eggs nice and yolky, hollandaise was good and lemony. My entree was not ideal. I had ordered the tres majored steak sandwich on ciabatta, which was mediocre unfortunately. The bread was toasted beautifully, the chipotle aioli was delish. My issue was the giant piece of steak that I had to tear through. The steak was overcooked for the thin cut, really needed some seasoning and a sliced presentation would have been easier to eat. The other gripe, albeit minor was the giant red onion rings, if those would have been cut in half they would have been easier to maneuver around also. read more
