She also shared her 'secret sauce' which is a recipe for an incredibly versatile brown seasoning sauce that can be used for dozens of Asian staples. This lesson was mostly Vietnamese and Thai focused, which is exactly what I was looking for. But she made it clear that she can do other Asian styles such as Szechuan and Japanese. She mentioned she also has taught sushi classes, which I think would be great. Very fair price! For $65 we cooked four dishes. I sampled all four while we cooked and took plenty of food home. This is great for a group experience!

The staff is amazing, so attentive and managed everything so professionally. There was PLENTY of food, GOOD food! Our guests were so impressed as were we. We had them manage our bar and cake too, and they did a fantastic job. They spent time with us via email, phone, AND in person just to be sure that every detail was managed. They were so considerate to make special (very special) entrees for our guests with dietary limitations too. I can't say enough good about them. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone that wants to have a worry-free event.

Well where do I start. From the get go everything was very off. The phone consult was off putting…read morebut I figured maybe she was having an off day or something weird so I went through with the "tasting" if you can even call it that. You will not be tasting what you want at your event, first red flag. I did not want anything even similar to bbq but apparently that was all I was allowed to taste because they had made some that day. Were we tasting part of another clients order on their dime? Probably. Complimented the bbq sauce, was told it's STORE BAUGHT and they just add to it. She was extremely rude, talking down to myself, my Fiance, and our 2 friends that joined (clearly was not okay even though I said I would have friends joining) my Fiance asked how they ensure the chicken (we wanted a chicken option) was not dry and she told us "sometimes chicken is just dry". Told us our guests that drank alcohol would all be carded and watched very closely like children. I wanted to have my own table decor to match everything else, hard no from her. This was the worst experience EVER. I could do a better job for a fraction of the cost. Even if you are on a hard budget do yourself a favor and just do the food yourself, you'll do a better job.

I hired this caterer about a month in advance for a baby shower for approximately 20 guests, with a…read morefood order totaling over $1,200. They were scheduled to arrive at 3:00 PM on Saturday. By 3:20, no one had arrived and I still hadn't heard anything. Around 3:25, I began trying to contact someone. After finally reaching someone after 3:30, I was told the kitchen had been extremely busy that day. At that point, I began to suspect the food might not be coming. At 3:49 PM -- just minutes before guests were arriving for a two-hour event -- I received a call letting me know the food had not even been made yet. I was told it might be ready "in a couple hours," and they suggested I order food elsewhere instead. We were left scrambling at the absolute last minute. We ended up ordering pizzas and salad from a local restaurant while family members rushed to the grocery store to put together charcuterie boards in the kitchen as guests arrived. It was stressful, embarrassing, and honestly hard to believe. I have worked in hospitality, events, fundraising, and vendor management since 2008 -- from hotels to nonprofit development work -- and I regularly hire caterers, bartenders, and vendors for professional events. In all those years, I have never experienced a caterer simply not show up and fail to communicate beforehand that they would not be delivering. To their credit, the contact person did apologize afterward and explained they were understaffed and going through staffing challenges. She also stated they would refund the order and help reimburse the replacement food costs. However, nearly a week later, I still have not received the full refund or reimbursement. I understand that difficult days happen in the service industry. What was most disappointing here was the complete lack of communication before the event and the position it put us in as hosts. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable relying on this company again for an event.

The main ballroom was also pretty nice. I have hosted and attended many dozens of large charity events, and the space was fine. However, the in-house catering was the worst I have seen. I am so sad to write this review. I hired this company to do my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. As a single…read moreMom I was on a budget of $22.00 per person. That is no a shabby cost per person in my opinion. I was able to put together a menu that would be perfect for my guests as the main course would be chicken skewers. I went for a tasting with my daughter and my Mother to ensure this was the company for us. At the tasting the chicken was dry and I made a point to say that the chicken needed to be moist and juicy. They offered a yogurt sauce for dipping onto the menu. I also ordered Spanokopita for an appetizer only for them to be warm on the outside and cold in the center when they were served. Once the appetizers were being served, guests mentioned them cold. They "tried" to fix them without luck. I paid for warm appetizers. The main buffet was Hummus, Pita, Fruit platter, Caesar salad and Tortellini salad. The only protein I had was the chicken as I was told it would be delicious and plenty of food. NOT.... Chicken was BONE dry and then the gal brought out a pitcher of water to pour over the chicken while on the buffet table. Omg! Yes, A pitcher of water was being poured in the chafing dishes and over the cooked chicken while guests were standing right there. My guests were starving as many left early to go eat and if I saw water being poured onto poultry, I would not be eating it either. After the event I sent an email asking for compensation for this awful experience. I sent three emails actually awaiting word... I was not given what I ordered and I was told that I would be only refunded back the COST of only the chicken at $3.00 per person. Are you kidding me? I was also told I should have ordered more food at $3.00 per person I should have to had more meat and than I would not have had any issue. I can't believe that after they admit their fault I am being told my budget was low. Seriously? Why did I have to order more food when what I ordered would have been plenty if done correctly. They cooked the chicken not me. The event that I was planning for over a year was ruined by this caterer not doing a great at all. I actually never did meet the caterer in person as I was dealing with a gal in charge of setting up the parties. I was told by her and reassured that everything would be amazing and tasty. We could not swallow the chicken without choking. Horrible. I now have to deal with this company as I spent over four thousand dollars for my party and they think $270.00 is compensation for disgraceful food for a party of 90 people. I would NOT go to this caterer if you paid me money. As a fourth generation Portlander, go find another caterer, any caterer on Yelp, as this has been a nightmare.
