Nice place next to the Amtrak. I have bad knees, and it was a little struggle going up the stairs. I am always cold and had to wear my jacket inside. We were able to sit wherever we wanted. We first chose the high seats and then moved to a lower table. The server was nice and attentive. I went in with the notion of ordering fish and chips or some sort of seafood; however, I was enticed by the prime rib, as I did not care for the type of fish they had available. I ordered the prime rib (med-well) with mashed potatoes and veggies. My friend ordered the fish and onion rings. I also ordered jalapeno hushpuppies. My friend really enjoyed her fish and onion rings. She was going to take some home for dinner, but there was nothing left to take home. My prime rib was over-heated and came out well-done and dry. I ate around the edges and picked at the potatoes. The first batch of hushpuppies that came out was still raw. The server said we were lucky cause we got a free mini corn dog. I thought we were until I ate it, and half of it was still frozen. The server took the hushpuppies back, and they cooked them a little longer. They were fully cooked when she brought them back, but they were missing one key element. There was no hint of jalapenos. You could see green specks but could not taste them. If I am ever in the area again, I will come back and try something else. read more

Food was fabulous, Jordon our server was kind and fun and even though it's next to the train station, it was not overly loud. Believe the great reviews because here's another one. What a lovely fun delicious spot. From the friendly fast seating and greeting to the reasonably priced menu with excellent choices this is a spot that will be worth a return visit. I had a very tasty cubano sandwich that was perfectly balanced with the ratios of meat and fillings to a soft ciabatta bread. One of the best I've had. I've passed by the Oregon City train station hundreds of times and never realized this place was here. One night coming home, my wife pointed it out and last weekend we finally decided to give it a try. The place is pretty unassuming, and the hike to the front door is not for the faint of heart, but once inside you find a warm, welcoming place. We were in a hunt for good fish and chips, and were presented with 2 options. Rock fish or mahi-mahi. We chose the rock fish and decided on an appetizer of pan fried oysters while we waited for our entrees. Now, pan fried oysters can be a dangerous offer. Done right, they're tender and flavorful. Done wrong, you can get any combination of grit, slime, and crusty. We were thrilled that theirs were PERFECT. With a glass of wine or a beer on the side, we enjoyed this into to our meal. When the fish arrived, our joy continued. The portions were generous and the fish was battered and seasoned to perfection. The fries were better than most and the cole slaw was fresh and tasty. Our waitress was friendly and helpful and even proactively dropped by a couple of glasses of water as our beer and wine started to run out. It's the little things that make all the difference. The final blessing came when we got the check. 2 meals, 2 drinks, and an appetizer for less than $60? Yes, please!! My only regret is that we didn't find this place sooner. Coasters Crossing has decent food but is functionally inaccessible. Okay, hear me out. I want Coasters to succeed. I don't think Coasters is intentionally trying to turn away people with ADA needs, women, and people with dietary restrictions. I do believe, however, that Coasters' hasn't intentionally considered how these types of people access and use their service. Although maybe unintentional, these barriers send a message that certain types of people are unwelcome. ADA ACCESSIBILITY A member of our party was using a walker today. The ADA-accessible route included switchbacks (plural) and a full hike around the building just to reach the front door. The length of the ADA path discourages people from accessing the restaurant. Moreover, the ADA route required us to navigate over a gap in the sidewalk pavement and then around path obstructions including chairs, a tent cover, kitchen equipment, collapsed table umbrellas, kegs, and recycling debris. These are trip hazards for anyone, let alone people using a walker or wheelchair. DIETARY ACCOMMODATION This restaurant has sweet potato fries and gluten free buns, meaning that it should be more accessible to people who need to control blood sugar and gluten. But one must pay extra for each item, which is irksome. It may be an industry practice to charge for these items, but having to pay extra is a barrier to inclusion and feels like a form of medical discrimination. Also, staff were unable to confirm whether one of their offerings contained gluten. While this was a little frustrating, I also appreciated that the staff was honest and didn't guess. WOMEN I suspect both the ADA accessibility and dietary accommodation issues may be keenly felt by women. Along the ADA route, we had to travel along the backside of the building. The backside of the building is isolated and loses sightline with other guests and staff. I don't think I would feel comfortable taking the ADA route by myself after dark. Before proceeding, I will caveat that I'm not a scientist. But, on a quick google, more women have been diagnosed with gluten intolerance than men. Extrapolating, I wouldn't be surprised if women are more likely than men to seek gluten free meal adaptations. When women must pay more to access safe food, and continue to earn less than men on the whole, it functions as an accessibility barrier. Food for thought (pun intended). read more

I love this place! It is small, but they are so efficient. The best part is that they have the most amazing garlic fries. Order the Steak Frites. They slice a generous portion of sirloin with a glaze and it comes with garlic parmesan fries on the side. Absolutely delicious! I used to work here for 6 months. there is a bartender named schanae that's works here. she hates her life and treats everyone like trash just gossiping all day behind her coworkers backs. the owner neglects his responsibilities and just stops by to get drunk. the food is sloppy with inconsistent quantities and quality, with cold and undercooked food coming out of the kitchen everyday. the restaurant is filthy with no standards of cleanliness. McDonald's is a 5 star restaurant compared to this place. read more

I was recently here for a Father's Day. This was my second time to Coasters Crossing. Twice now this place has been a great experience. Good service and good food. The first time I had the Rockfish and chips, which was cooked to perfection. This time was the steak and eggs. Along with a couple Bloody Mary's and a Mimosa, this was a great meal. My only complaint was my medium rare steak was cooked medium well. However, it was a nice cut and flavorful. Had this been cooked as ordered, I would have given it five stars. Overall for the price and the quality of the food, you won't be disappointed. Give this place a try. read more

We come in here regularly because the food and drinks are always top notch. I ordered something new this time. I tried the chicken strip basket. Holy moly! These were some of the best chicken strips I've ever had! I will definitely be ordering them again! I chose onion rings with them and those were fantastic too. Husband ordered the steak and eggs breakfast with hash browns. The steak was grilled and seasoned perfectly. The eggs and hash browns were good as well but the steak was the highlight! We also ordered bloody Mary's and iced teas. The bloody Mary's are nicely seasoned and always good. This has become one of our favorite lunch spots in the area. We'll be back soon read more

The food and staff is good but the place is dirty. The plexi glass between the booths are smeared with greasy fingers that didn't just occur over the course of one morning. The walls in here are splattered with food also. The outlets and switches are brown from fingers. Just take a few minutes and wipe down the place, guys. read more

When they informed the waitress her response was "well if it really bothers you I can take it in the back and cut it out". Of course she didn't want to eat it anymore (duh). I started coming to Coasters Crossing back in December 2021 at the suggestion of a friend of mine that said, "Coasters Crossing has the BEST chicken strips...", and honestly, who can ignore that? Not a long time, but there have been many meals since then. So, one of the nights I ran with my running group in Milwaukie, and we all agreed to try Coasters Crossing for dinner. What a surprise! There were many choices on the menu. And, on top of that, the prices were very reasonable. We've come in for dinner many times together, and separately to introduce others to Coasters Crossing. Many times upon entering, the staff were always quick to address us and get us seated. Every one of the staff were friendly, attentive and personable which obviously makes a more enjoyable experience as patrons. The establishment is kept very clean. The tables and seating are kept quite clean, as well. The bathrooms have always been seemingly clean all the times I've been there, which makes a big difference, in my opinion. And, I do often check out the vents above at every eatery I go to, which were very clean at Coasters Crossing. One of the evenings, we inquired if Coasters does breakfast. Apparently, I must have been under a rock for not asking earlier, as they do, and the running group was happy to hear because that gave us a new breakfast place to try. I'll tell you all, Coasters Crossing delivered! The breakfast is very tasty and priced very well! I usually do my "go-to" breakfast test by getting the Biscuits & Gravy with a side of sausage, and coffee. However, Coasters Crossing does it better! I can do the Country Fried Steak with Biscuits & Gravy! It was amazing! On top of that, our coffee cup was always filled on many of the breakfast excursions. Many of the "foodie" runners have returned on their own with their family and other friends, as well as myself. Not one disappointment. All were good experiences. All in all, at the end of any meal I often will ask, "Would you come back?" My answer for Coasters Crossing? Since the staff are great, the food and drinks are tasty, and the establishment doesn't partake in any form of discrimination. And, there are more menu items I want to try the next time around. So, yes, without a doubt. By the way, the chicken strips ARE AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! As I always say, if you ever get a chance, definitely try it once and decide for yourself. Enjoy! Note: Even though the masking requirements for indoor spaces have been lifted, there are establishments still requiring masks and COVID cards, it was nice to see this eatery in the greater Portland area not requiring masks or COVID cards. I finally tried the prime rib and it was perfect - I requested rare (with prime rib there's not a ton of flexibility), and they delivered on the rare side of medium rare -- so good! read more
