I've eaten at all three of these family restaurants (Redland, Hangar, Eagle Creek) many times over the past few decades. If you're hungry for good food and lots of it for not a lot of money, this is your place. These restaurants serve a very blue collar clientele. Loggers, trades people, mostly locals. They expect and get a hearty meal with no frills. You won't find tofu or quiche anywhere on the menu. All three are on or very close to a main State highway but are also in rural areas where you either live close by or (like me) are going out of your way to come here. I do go past the Hangar and I'm out Eagle Creek way now and then but the Redland really does require a special trip. But it's that good so well worth it. Especially for b'fast! Wait staff is consistently great. I see complaints about slow service but I've never experienced that. Even when the place is very busy which it often is. I guess if you go in with an attitude the waitress may not be eager to deal with you ... but if you show up looking like someone who works for a living you will be rewarded with a tasty, hot meal PDQ. read more

Popped in after a visit to Milo McIver State Park and this is about to become tradition. Good simple food done right, friendly staff and atmosphere. Our table also ordered Dr O's Denver omelette, a mini omelette, oatmeal and biscuits and gravy. Food was all really good. Service was okay- gal was friendly enough but had to ask for silverware. We stopped in to try out bbq night at the cafe. Be prepared for a lot of food! We tried a little of everything and had left overs for lunch the next day. We didn't love everything but it was all served hot and smothered in really good bbq sauce. The sides were a mix of things we thought were really great and others just ok. They consistently do not have enough staff to handle to go orders or dine-in crowds. People are patient as it's the only restaurant around the area, but the lack of adequate help to clear empty tables and seat new guests is really bad. Cannot wait indefinitely to be sitted or to wait for service once seated with only one waitress for the entire restaurant and bar...other person there working the counter couldn't keep up with it all either... Redland Cafe is a pretty decent place to eat. They have a variety of items on their menu, but I have my go to meals - the bacon cheeseburger with tots or the blt crispy chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Both are good portions for the price. I mostly have dinner here, but sometimes I get breakfast with the Denver Dr O being my favorite dish. It does get busy so plan on being there or call in your order before 5! I enjoy this country cafe and it is nice to have it in the neighborhood. read more

The service was great, friendly employees! The parking lot was full for the Monday night $8 burger and fries special. My husband had the burger and he said he would be back for that! I had the Alfredo that came with a side salad and bread. Overall bar food Alfredo was good! You could tell it was fresh, however, I would say a little over cooked for my taste. We hadn't eaten here in 33 years and that was only for breakfast and lunch occasionally. Obviously, we gave it a big rest L O L. Decided to go here the other night. They were out of fish & chips which we were disappointed about because we heard they were really good so ordered a pizza " to go"! I don't know what happened in the kitchen, but it took an hour. They were very busy that night. The staff and manager were frustrated as we were. They were so nice and apologetic while we waited. They gave us two free desserts to make up for it. Thank you We will come back. We do like the newer remodel inside with wood walls. Didn't have that when we went decades ago , was a nice update. My family has been going to the Carver Hanger for years, yet we live closer to the Redland Cafe and decided to try it out... shocking it's owned by the same people. Because the service took an hour to get food, and the food was nothing like Carver Hanger what so ever. The waitress didn't check on us one time while being there, she was actually reminded by other servers to check on her tables. We were mostly disappointed by the quality of food more than anything, our burgers were so overwhelmed by sauce that they just fell apart in our hands. Gross. read more

I still think Redland is awesome after all of these years. This type of American Diner food will always have a place in my stomach. It's really honest diner food. If you're going to do it, might as well do it right. Their biscuits are the size of a grapefruit. Just about everything from breakfast to burgers come out of that kitchen served up hot and well put together. Prices can run a bit higher here but they always have specials. They do in-house bbq and prime rib on Saturday usually with enough left over for Sunday mornings prime rib breakfast. You'll probably leave in a food coma. They also have salads but why? Oh yeah, milk shakes, old fashioned and freaking delicious. It's worth the drive to the country. Bring the family too. Staff is always friendly. Wear loose pants. read more

There's a lot of room for improvement. The interior design is unfinished, and incoherent. The decorations make no sense. The lights have different color temperatures, etc. As far as the food, it's time for an overhaul. No more American cheese, cheap burger buns, bland tomatoes, etc. Use real ingredients, and healthy stuff. Is Tillamook cheddar cheese that much more money than American cheese? No, so please give us at least the option to substitute better foods. This has a lot of potential, but somebody needs to re-decorate the interior and somebody needs to reevaluate the raw ingredients for meals. Also probably makes sense to adjust recipes and make some changes in that department, after improving raw materials. With better ingredients, this is a solid four-star place, without even changing the interior or recipes. Clean up the ambiance and decor, and introduce some new food concepts, and you've got a 5 star diner in the countryside. read more

Located on Redland Road, at the point they call it City Center, and I'm being funny here cuz it's very remote. But you will not find a harder working crew of individuals than at the Redland Cafe and they put out a very high quality tasty meal no matter when you come in. They have nightly specials and on Monday night you get a burger for a deal and it's not a skimpy burger You got to bring your A game to tackle this thing. My favorite night was Tuesday cuz you could get taco softer crunchy and everything about it was delicious. Menu items are really good especially the Reuben, the French dip, and their pizza is pretty good too. The servers work very hard whether they are working your table or working the counter they all work very well together. It's also a great place to order call in and go pick your order up on the way home from work. That's a great way to have a break in the weekly meals. Let Redland Cafe make dinner one night a week. New to the area and having passed by this place a few times and heard it was good, so we decided to stop by one morning for breakfast. Had a Denver omlette with hash browns and toast. The omlette was fluffy and stuffed with ham, onions and peppers. Not at all greasy like I've had at other local places. Hash browns were hot and crispy, just the way I like them. My wife had ham and eggs with country potatoes and was delighted with her meal as well. I have to admit I was jealous of her potatoes, but there's always tomorrow..... The service was great, wait staff was friendly and helpful and food was quick to arrive. Definitely recommend this place and plan to be back soon. To add a little more, we later ordered a couple of their pizzas for carry out and again were happy with the product. Great crust, just the right amount of sauce (I don't like pizza drowned in sauce) and loads of toppings. Awesome! All in all, this is a great little place for good, old fashion comfort food. They had a lot to choose from on the menu. Breakfast is served it'll 2, lunch options are sandwiches, burgers, and homemade pizza! Although the food is OK, the menu states the burgers are 1/3 lb. I doubt the patty is a 1/6 lb. The fries are pretty greasy and the arrived just barely warm. It appears the cooks are more concerned about just getting the food out fast not warm. The wait staff don't check afterwards to see if everything is ok. This is not an isolated incident as this has happened more than once. Not sure if I want to return for more subpar food. read more
