We were in a date night rut and I wanted to try something new. So I hopped on Yelp and searched for "date night" and found this gem. So fun! I was a little confused how to get in so we walked in to the restaurant (The Hive Social) and asked. They let us to the secret stair case and said we'd need to figure out the rest for ourselves. And we did. The portrait swung open and we discovered the coolest bar! The ambiance was very cozy and perfect for our date night. Our server was very friendly and made some suggestions when asked. We ordered a couple rounds of drinks and several small plates to share. They even staggered our apps to not overwhelm our cozy table. Everything was delicious. Well worth the drive and we will be back for sure (and probably bring friends)!

How have I not done my review of this place yet? Look at all those photos of delicious drinks and food. I have been here more than once because it's totally worth it. Unfortunately I don't live near by, but if I am in the area you bet I am stopping in. The staff have been friendly and make the experience possible. The food is fabulous and the drinks are even better. I also love the vibe of this place. Yes, it's a speakeasy so it should be swank and up scale but this place does it right, if you have figured out how to get in ;-) I can't rave about this place enough, you have got to try it.

I met a friend here ,probably the busiest part of the brunch service. It was about a 20 minute wait which didn't seem too bad and I had plenty of time to play catch up with my friend. This place has 3 different venues in one: Coffee Shop, Speak Easy in the basement and a restaurant. We ordered cocktails and the Bloody Mary was loaded with marinated veggies and was pretty darn tasty. I ordered a Delicata Squash roasted concoction that was so delicious, I spent all night on my phone trying to find a recipe to replicate it. It was served in a huge bowl with roasted sweet potatoes as the base, surrounded by braised Italian Kale and the delicata on top. The menu said it had toasted hazelnuts, pepitas pesto and a honey yogurt tahini sauce. I took half of it home because the portion was huge. My friend had sweet potato spice French toast made with Challah bread. It was gigantic and she barely made a dent in it. I so want to go back here, now that I see the Squash dish made it on the dinner menu and everything sounds delicious.

The Hardware Store is one of those places that makes you feel like you're in on a secret, even though it's right inside The Hive Social. You head through the door, down the stairs, and suddenly you're in this cozy, moody little bar that feels completely different from the restaurant upstairs. The whiskey collection is vast, so many of great options my husband loved! I noticed whiskey flights too on the menu. Cocktails are solid across the board, they had some fun smoked options! Food wise, this isn't just an afterthought bar menu, it has great options from small bites to really delicious entrees. We shared a few small plates, and everything was incredible. The whole place has this has a fun vibe that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. It's perfect for date night, a small group hang, or just sneaking away for a good drink.

I recently went back for dinner and it was delicious! They had carnitas sliders on special this month, on a brioche bun with cranberry and cole slaw. I am into everything fall flavors right now so I loved the cranberry with the meat and slaw! Their drink special is a gin and cinnamon brown sugar combination which was also delicious. I really enjoyed the meal and am glad to find another dinner spot!

Great cocktails, amazing bartenders, very modern and stylish interior decor - very clean and fabulous ambiance. The vibes of this speakeasy are unmatched! Saturday nights offer live music, which we missed by just a few minutes. We regretted dinner reservations elsewhere, really wish we would have stayed for dinner. Absolutely everything we had was top notch and exceeded our expectations. Recommend skipping the anonymous negative review and give The Hardware Store a try... we were thoroughly impressed, especially considering it was hidden in Oregon City. This place exceeds some of the best speakeasys we've visited in NYC, Chicago, and abroad!

Great cocktails, great bartenders, great furniture and decor, nice and clean and warm, loungey, awesome vibes. Also live music every Saturday night, the artist didn't start until 8pm tonight on 1/18/25, but she was really good at acoustics. All of the cocktails were really great and would recommend. Have yet to try the food but will be next time we visit!

It's a whole experience. The entrance to this place really sets the scene. Decor is delightful. Each time I have came here I always enjoy my drinks from the bar. This is where I had my first espresso martini and I haven't found one that compares. Service has never really stood out to me but never negative. Perfect for a first date, a girls night or just some cocktails!

This place was almost a 5/5 for us until we got to dessert. First, the good: The place is so sick! From the way you enter, the passcode, the vibe... it just all works so well. You feel like you're part of an exclusive club. We ordered the focaccia bread, beef stroganoff and the prime rib. Highly recommend that you come on a Friday so you can take advantage of the prime rib offering. It was delicious and the truffle garlic mash and veggies that come with are excellent accompaniments. The beef stroganoff is rich and tasty as well. The bread was fine but definitely felt overpriced for $8. Now the dessert. First of all, after reading the reviews about the dessert options, we were excited to see what we could order. Our waiter delivered the bill without telling us about dessert. When we asked about it, he told us the three options. We ordered the chocolate tart and he came back a few minutes later to tell us they ran out. So we ordered the strawberry cobbler. Clearly, this restaurant needs assistance with naming their desserts because we got a dense cake not a cobbler. There were only strawberries on the side of the dessert and not in the "cobbler". It was served in a cast iron mini pan but it was cold? It was just awful. Thankfully, they removed it from our bill since we couldn't stomach it but needless to say, we were very confused by the dish. Overall, would definitely come back but would steer clear of any desserts

The place is wonderful, I speak highly of it and tell anyone and everyone about the place. Once had Sarah as my barkeep the last couple of times. She's is outstanding, her drinks are and she's great. I had Mel, I believe, my first two times in and she was great. I apologize I don't know the young man that is the front of the house greeter he's a like gent. The chef does a great job. The staff as a whole are wonderful. I apologize I do not know the other lovely lady behind the bar my last time but she been there I believe a couple of my visits and was wonderful too. The live music nights, the music in general, the feel, the ambiance when the whole place is full is amazing. I am glad I found out about this establishment and I drive from Beaverton to visit. I'm also a proud member! Thank you all! I do want to add the seasonal change on the menu is wonderful. There are zero proof options with liquors that are 0% I appreciate that if I'm not up for a full cocktail. Lastly they have THE BEST espresso martinis, if you love them ask! I had both bartenders make me one and they did it different and both were amazing. I could see the face of the drink, thank you again!

Omg what a fun place! In the spirit of a Speakeasy Yes: you will need to provide a passcode before you can enter. Seriously! No: I will not tell you the passcode! But, if you look carefully enough, you will find a clue in the vestibule! Note to self: * Come back here * Explore more of Oregon City

I've been coming to The Hive Social for several years and somehow I never knew about The Hardware Store. This speakeasy is located downstairs from The Hive Social and is not to be missed. Live music, amazing cocktails, and great food. The bar looks like it built out of the prohibition era. I couldn't tell you what I had to drink, but they were great cocktails. My wife and I shared some plates which included their meatballs, pasta with pesto and chicken, and the brussel sprouts. Each dish tasted exceptional. The service here is great as well. This is the perfect place to go on a date night.

Well, that's just not the case anymore. The Underground is in The Monarch hotel, which was independently-owned until some corporation bought it, and the new ownership systematically destroyed everything that made The Underground unbeatable. I intentionally held off on writing any updates to my review because I wanted to give (new) staff a chance to work the kinks out under the new ownership. Well, nothing improved, and everything got worse: * The AWESOME lobster bisque? GONE * The mushroom medley served with the steaks? GONE * Freshly-prepared appetizers? GONE *The AMAZING staff that LITERALLY were literally more like family than wait staff? GONE (well, probably 95% of them anyway, a literal couple originals were still on-staff during my last visit, but they clearly weren't happy, and appeared to be under a LOT of stress). *Steaks that defy their relatively low price point? Everything took forever to come out (even the drink), nobody came out to check or refill waters in the 90 minutes we were there. Cocktail (Spring Break) - 5/5 great! Bruschetta - 3/5. Generally good but the bread was carbonized and as hard as a rock. Burger + fries - 3/5. Burger looked sad but was actually pretty tasty, if a little overcooked. Fries looked great (hand cut) but upon us closer inspection in the low light, you could see they were 50% those tiny peel pieces that get burned when frying. Guys! I ordered 2 things and both came out wrong. Our waitress spoke very loudly and we could hear her having long personal conversations with people a couple tables away from us for 10+ minutes at a time, several times. While we waited for her, we ran out of water a few times and I had to ask for more. It was over an hour before our order was even taken. We did flag her down to order an appetizer, brussel sprouts with cheese on the side due to a dairy allergy, but... the sprouts came out with cheese on them. They corrected this fairly promptly, but then we sat for another 45 minutes before our order was actually taken. I ordered a steak as "somewhere between medium & medium well" and she correctly repeated my order back to me "medium/medium well." When the steak came out, it was WELL well done. Like, burnt. I wanted to send it back, but I didn't want to deal with the embarrassment or have to wait even longer for food. We were about an hour & 45 minutes into dinner by the time we got our food. I was so disappointed! I also wanted to get dessert to celebrate the occasion but the service was SO slow that we had to cancel our after-dinner plans. We ordered it anyway & requested the check promptly, giving up on our plans for the rest of the evening. We were only a party of 2, we arrived early for our reservation, & we watched several larger parties come and go while we waited for our order to even be taken. It was a Wednesday night and not overly busy, there were several empty tables, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. We were also seated at an odd table next to the kitchen with a small divider between us and the staff. It was noisy and I even heard 2 staff members exchange a joke about how someone else had left & said they'd never come back. They laughed about it. I wish I had the guts those people had to get up & leave! I've never once left less than a 20% tip and felt immense guilt not tipping well, but after experiencing the poor service then also hearing the staff blatantly acknowledge it & not care.... I was appalled. The Hilton bought the hotel attached to De Fuego and I'm shocked. This was a Monarch hotel before and I'd assume that the Hilton's standards would be higher but the service and quality here have tanked hopelessly low since the acquisition. I had a similar experience at The Underground before it closed. I've learned my lesson & won't come here for a special occasion again.

Loved to see how everyone acted and showed emotions. Drawbacks: The people on our table were a little shy (on their 2nd/3rd date) and weren't participating as much so that was a drawback for us. Food was so/so but again we were there for the experience and not the food and that is where I took away a star. They were a little loose with the directions with what to do with money or who should respond how. Now we are looking forward to next time because we know what to do. They took mugshots in the beginning and during the event and promised to send us the link to the pictures via email. We never got them :( take your own pictures! Tips: Its all about the guests! Be involved in it and have fun. Going in a group would be fun. Its fun to see how your friends/other couples act/react in different situations. Talk and mingle with other.

The only down fall was the lack of all the clues, as well as short amount of time to solve the mystery. After the killer was revelaed and the reason why it was evident that the evidence we would have needed to come to that solution was in the killer's hand most the night. We are definitly going to go again once there is a new "show".

I recently hosted my birthday party at The Chateau Ballroom, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, the space took my breath away--it's elegant, romantic, and absolutely perfect for a celebration. The lighting, décor, and layout made everything feel so special and photo-ready. One of the biggest highlights of planning this event was working with Natalia. She was such a big help from start to finish--so sweet, organized, and truly dedicated to making everything perfect. We absolutely loved having her at the party, and I'm so grateful for all the support she gave us in putting the whole event together. She made the process smooth and stress-free, and her positive energy added so much to the night. Everyone kept complimenting the venue, and I've received so many messages saying it was one of the most beautiful birthday parties they've attended. The dance floor was the perfect size, the acoustics were great for music, and the ambiance created the perfect vibe for celebrating with friends and family. I highly recommend The Chateau Ballroom to anyone planning a birthday, wedding, or any special event. It made my birthday unforgettable, and I'll always be grateful for how magical the night turned out. Thank you, Chateau Ballroom --and extra thanks to Natalia!

Everything turned out wonderfully. It was too hot to use the outdoor area, but inside the ballroom was very cool and comfortable. I had asked a few families to carpool and we all were able to park our cars. The tables and chairs I rented from the manager were in excellent condition and chairs were very comfortable. I had many guests comment on how much they liked the place. We all enjoyed the beautiful dance floor and my dad played his music collection on the sound system and we enjoyed looking at family photos on the tv screen. I would highly recommend this venue and I would definitely use it again in the future. Eric, the manager was very responsive and communicated easily. Rhonda
