Kids meal 2 chicken strips and maybe 5 fries
    Becca F.

On an evening drive we decided to stop by this little stand for some milkshakes and a kids meal for the bottomless pit of the teenager The cost was way too high! The service was irritating and slow! The food was fried and fine. My husband opted for a sundae instead of a milkshake. Pretty sure dumping some Oreos on a cup of ice cream isn't exactly a sundae. Would we go back? Absolutely not. The only reason I'm not giving one star is the milkshakes were good. The place is like any small town little food shack with peeling paint and a run down drive through, a few tables inside, etc.

Two little stools they had that I thought were so adorable

I had a ham cheeseburger with two slices of fried ham on it with tater tots and my husband has the Kraken fish and chips and he said it was good. He said the tartar sauce was not homemade, but it was OK and he had the fries which were battered fries. One friend had the chili cheeseburger and cleaned his container up so I'm assuming it was really good and our other friend had a bacon cheeseburger as well. There were tons of tater tots. I couldn't eat them all and that may be the first time in my life I've never eaten all my tater tots ha ha Please were so friendly. They weren't your normal sullen teenagers that act like you're inconveniencing them and taking them away their cell phones at all. our pastor recommended the place to us and it's about 55 minutes from Milwaukie and they drive out there and they said it's the chicken strips they go for but we didn't hear that before we left or we would've tried them. Sorry, no pictures. We met friends that we haven't seen in probably five years and so didn't even think about it. But I did take a picture of the cutest little stool they had

They have the best chicken strips, fries, chili, milk shakes. Staff is friendly. We drive all the way from Keizer to eat here.

The burgers here are really good. I actually recommend eating here. The fries were salted just right.

Great service. Really nice people in a cool bohemian setting off Hwy 99. Love the artwork all…read moreover. The host explained the menu to us and we got a couple of chili dawgs (Everyone's Fav), hold the sour cream, with an order of fries. Yes, they accept credit cards. They hand you a buzzer that tells you to collect your order and it worked for us from the nearby parking lot. I'm sure the sour cream would have made it even more over the top good but both of us are sadly lactose intolerant and not big believers in dairy subs. However, the seasoned fries were hot and tasty and perfect to dip in the excellent chili. I just lost my soul cat and these dawgs were a perfectly indulgent, guilty treat on a days like these where I need to wash the blues away.

I love the idea of this small take-out joint. Entrepreneur quits her regular job to create a small…read morerestaurant. Her daughter also quits to help her out. Lots of fresh made menu items, some with a twist from time honored recipes. I really want to support them, but one problem . . . I've gone two times in the last four days around 11:15am, and they were closed. As far as I know, they should be open at 11am. On Saturday, I saw a young lady come of of the door, so I walked over, and she said the owner wasn't there yet, and invited be to come back in 30 minutes. i finished my other arrands and came back 40 minutes later, and they were still not open. I parked in the lot behind the tiny restaurant and waited another 10 minutes before finally leaving. Three days later, I came by at about 11:15am again, and they still hadn't opened. I understand the challenges of a small business, but someone needs to understand the importance of opening on time! I'm not on a clock for work, but if I had been and clocked out to go for lunch, and they weren't open 20-25 minutes after they should be, I'm not sure I would ever go back. I will give them another chance, because I want to support them. I will stop by after 11:30, and hope they are open. UPDATE: I decided to give them another chance and I went by for the third time in six days. This time i waited until 11:40 because the last two times it was closer to the opening time of 11am. SHOCKER!! They were still not open, or even looking like they would be any time soon. The front door was locked, the chairs outside were still stacked and there was no sign that anyone was around. For me, that's strike three. You would think a small business would do all they could to be open on time. And if you have a valid reason for not being open, leave a small not at the door. I'm sure the food is good, but I won't waste my time driving the 4 miles to try again. Sorry ladies!

One thing that really stood out was how reasonably priced everything here is! From the different…read moretypes/sizes of the corndogs, sides, drinks to the soft serve, everything was between $2-$8 which was so refreshing in a tourist-y town where most would up charge. They had a small parking lot across from the building and some street parking available. You can't really miss it because of the giant corn dog on the roof. Small space inside but it's open and had those fun black and white checkered flooring with plenty of outdoor picnic tables to dine in. Service was friendly. You order at the register and they will call your name to pick up your order/bring your order to you. The moment of truth was that I knew they pride themselves on the (allegedly) very first corndogs and now their batter is the key to their accomplishment. However...the salty pancake batter on the outside really didn't work for me...it was too salty. Which was a bummer for sure. We got our daughter the kiddie dog ($2) and original ($4) and spicy ($4) and unfortunately for us the saving grace was the sweet ketchup to dip in to help balance out the saltiness. The fry sauce was great though. The soft serve was the perfect treat to end the salty meal though. Get the swirl! There was also a corn dog ride for the kids but a great photo op when visiting.. I would say it's definitely worth a visit if you are in Rockaway Beach!

The pronto pups were so salty we had to put them down after a few bites. Our 2nd visit within the last two weeks ( hoping that maybe there was a mishap in the process like too much salt was added to the batter? ) but nothing had changed. Extremely salty and we had to toss them out. It seems like the dogs and pups at the State Fair set the standard. Super fun place but if your not a fan of heavy salt in your meal be forewarned.
