Great place! Ordered drinks and sandwiches and they were some of the best we've had! I ate the second half of my sandwich the next day and it was even better!

Ham & Cheese sandwich-delicious but the ham has very thin and not a lot of it

Plenty of seating! Couches, bar, and tables. Great service on a busy Sunday. The ovens were broken but the panini iron was working and we enjoyed a ham and cheese sandwich. The sandwich didn't have a lot of ham on it but it was good.

Huge personal nachos!!

Nice casual place to grab a drink and some food - we sat at the bar and our host was spectacular! Food and drinks were great! We had the small order of nachos which was HUGE and yummy and the Cuban sandwich was incredible!

Love this spot. Little hole in the wall in old town Newberg. Great wine, brew and cider menu. Famous for their Nachos! 3 sizes available: Full size = 6 + 1/2 size =4 1/4 size = right for 2 Their sandwiches are excellent... Cubano or Cheesesteak... Turkey with Pesto and more! Excellent. Their Salads are fresh and their Vinaigrette is just right. Affordable and the service is excellent! A great experience when you are in Newberg.

Apollo red wine from Italy! Tasty!

Incredibly delicious nachos and wine! Great bartender and comfy vibe. Enjoyed hanging out in the couch while reading a book, listening to great tunes. Great wine offerings.

The best wings I've ever had!!

We only stopped here for drinks but ended up ordering some food. I ordered some wings called "Sam's Molotov Wings." WOW!! Spicy but super flavorful and delicious. The bartender was very hospitable. Name is Sam. So friendly and attentive that I thought he was the manager. He wasn't. Just intentional and great at his job. We'll definitely come back.

Amazing red blend and ipa

Came for drinks. No hard liquor but they do have wine, beer, and cider. They also have wine based cocktails. Super friendly bartender. Very nice atmosphere. Recommend highly!

This was a last min stop in and I wasn't disappointed. Great food, wine and hospitality. David was awesome.... He hooked us up with his favorite wineries for wine hopping tomorrow.

Great drinks, food, music, people and prices. I had the nachos with carnitas, they were some of the best nachos I've ever had. Two thumbs up!

We first tried to drop by on Day 1, but the place was so crowded that we couldn't get a table. We made sure to book a reservation and returned for lunch the next day. The ambience here is amazing, and the service was top-notch. Our server was great and took the time to explain the menu details to us. We ordered a bunch of different items, and everything tasted pretty good. The paella was definitely the absolute highlight of the meal! While I wish the vegetables had been roasted just a bit more, the rice itself was extremely flavorful. The sautéed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts were another massive highlight--they are an absolute must-try from the menu. We loved them so much that we actually placed a repeat order for them during our meal! Overall, we had a fantastic time here. Definitely visit this spot when you are in the city!

There's plenty of tables and a long bar with ample seats. The service has been mostly good. The wine list is ample and the cocktail selection is massive. I haven't had a bad drink here. This most recent time, I ordered the 45 minute paella. I don't mind waiting with a glass of wine or cocktail for something that's a treat like paella. Sadly, when it came out it was disappointing. The seafood was cooked well but a little underseasoned. The rice was very bland. I'd chalk it up to someone having a bad night, but this is the second time I ordered the paella and was disappointed. Sad to say, there are enough better restaurants in Mac that I don't think I'll rush back here on my next trip to the area.

We did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us at the bar (which is fine since my wife was born with the gift of gab and makes friends with everyone). Alice the bartender greeted us warmly and took our drink order quick (even though the place was very busy). The menu changes daily based on the availability of the fresh ingredients of the season and is written on a chalkboard. We opted for the salmon tartar which was amazing and the beef spare ribs. The salmon served with small crusty bread and the spare ribs were served with a Mole sauce. We stayed until closing and talked the night away.

Yesterday took us to McMinnville for the Wonderland Brew Fest... after the festival, we decided to do a progressive dinner. Stop at every interesting restaurant on / near 3rd Street and eat until we were satisfied... Thistle threw a big ole wrench in our plans, and we are DELIHTED they did! After a not so great first restaurant experience, we happened upon Thistle at the recommendation of a friend. We decided to stop in for an appetizer and a drink. We were immediately greeted by a lovely man named Patrick who was so friendly and accommodated us at a lovely table in the center dining room. Round #1 of drinks was ordered with the Gnocchi and Duck Liver Mousse. Good. LORDT. We were smitten at sip and bite #1. After the first round, we settled into having a second round before heading out... next thing you know, a Pork Confit hit our table. OUT OF THIS WORLD. The talent of this chef is beyond words. Our planned 45 minute stop turned into a whole evening. The drinks were absolutely out of this world. The food was ridiculously good. Truly, the absolute best restaurant in all of McMinnville. To the chef, John Thomas IV and the owner, Patrick, THANK YOU! You truly too an average Saturday evening into one of our favorite trips to McMinnville of all times. We raved and sang the praises of our experience to all our friends this morning at brunch. Our one evening alone will guarantee our return many many times in the future. If you're from McMinnville and haven't tried Thistle yet, do it! If you're visiting, stop searching for your dinner destination and call for your reservation now. Absolutely our best McMinnville dinner, ever!

Comfy chairs. Lower lighting, well placed. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. I think our server's name was Mikayla; a gem. Attentive and observant but never intrusive. Drinks: my old fashioned was absolutely perfect and my husband's margarita was fine. Appetizers: beer cheese was well balanced and a bit runny, which I prefer over the library paste version some places serve. The elotes dip was a standout, mildly spicy, with lime in the cilantro, and warm, crispy chips. (Whatever is in their seasoning for chips and fries should be sold separately -- I wanted to try it on everything.) We probably should have stopped there, as the portions were abundant, but our mains were amazing. Smash burger was insanely juicy, nice and onion-y with a few Crunchy Brown Bits around the edges. The roll was fresh and tender, with a good crust; flavorful, not just a shingle. The fries were the best I've had in Salem. Get the garlic-thyme upgrade; you won't regret it. My ribeye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately they were out of both compound butters, apparently due to a busy Friday, but everything was well seasoned. The vegetable of the day was roasted Brussels sprouts with a sweet-and-salty sauce, almost like kettle corn; amazing. The outer leaves were caramelized without being burned, and the hearts were tender but not mushy. Crispy fried onions were perfect. Fried potatoes were fine, and enriched by their placement between the steak and the sprouts. The diners who came in before us were all smiles when they left, so it wasn't a fluke. Can't wait to come back!

Food: We had the Wagyu Smash burger with sweet potatoes (waffle cut), and the Wagyu Sliders with the Garlic Thyme fries. The smash burger had those good crispy edges and good flavor overall, but started to get a bit rich and could've used a bit more acid to balance the flavors out. The Wagyu sliders were delicious. They came on a pretzel buns, had pickled onions and a good Serrano aioli sauce. Perfect balance of salt, acid, fat, and heat. Fries: the Waffle cut sweet potatoes fried were good but basic. The garlic thyme fried while smelled great, were definitely frozen from a bag and way over cooked to the point of many being burnt. The garlic was also burnt. They could've also used a melted cheese to keep the garlic stuck to the fries. Not sure I'd order them again. Beverages: we had the Santiam Brewery Infiltrator Pilsner, which was great, and the an Silver Falls Brewery IPA (can't recall what brewery it was from).

We reserved on Tock, and it was mostly full on a Friday night. Drinks: lots of local beers are available, but I went with the Pineapple Express: she warned it was spicy, and it indeed was (in a really good way). All of the food is done family style: - Clams Galicia: with tomato, chorizo, bacon broth. This broth as amazing. I literally drank it with a spoon - Pan con tomate: slightly different from classic preparation - more flavorful and heavier on the toppings - Salmorejo: tomato and bread puree, Serrano, jammy egg - like a creamy gazpacho - Grilled asparagus: with whipped ricotta and a cured egg yolk - Squid ink pasta: with hazelnuts, caramelized onions, peppers, and a runny egg yolk, a bit spicy. This dish was my favorite - Honey brined pork chop with a basque piperade sauce The servers were all great about checking in. I would definitely recommend the squid ink pasta and the clams if you're in town!
