There were two other tables in the restaurant and we now have four new friends. Very friendly guests and bartender. Kristina was superb. She was efficient and very engaging. My wife had the Veggie Burger with Tots and I had the BBQ Burger with French Fries. Both were perfectly cooked. I understand Monday night is Steak night as well, and the two gentleman next to us were having that. They raved that the steak is always cooked perfectly...one rare and one medium rare. We literaly ran out of table there was so much food. Now we all know that myself and my crew have a healthy appetite but good lawd havemercy... never have I ever... the food was stupid. Just supid good. Ridiculous. Each bite it got better. Burned the crap out of my mouth but the wine healed it quickly. $25 for the biggest breakfast I've ever had and a huge glass of wine. Seriously, you can't beat that with a pole. The service was awesome... the coffee that accompanied the wine and water never ran dry and was refilled to maintain being piping hot the entire visit. The ambiance is kitschy and perfect. The staff are locals who obviously take great pride in their little Cafe and they SHOULD! They have worked hard to own the pride in there little gem in the heart of Gaston. Can't wait to go back. I've swept all the brunch places in all of Portland trying to find anyone who can do a solid Chicken Fried Chicken that well... needless to say, I've failed. This drink is one of my favorite so well balanced and refreshing perfect on a warm day. Our Deluxe cheese burgers were served within 10 minutes and as usual cooked perfectly and set upon a soft sesame bun with just the right amount of shredded lettuce, onion and sauce. Accompanied by pickle chips, a banana pepper and a bag of potato chips. Of course we devoured them quickly. Chalking this up to another great visit at my favorite neighborhood bar.
