"Back in the day" I used to drop in here on the way to/from Mount Hood and parts east. A true dive bar Biker bar, patchholders and straight Bikers alike. I was running BikePAC at the time and was also an ABATE officer. There's a picture of my 97 Big Dog hanging on the wall. Haven't been here since forever. I have a very dear friend, also a life-long Biker who lives in Sandy and we set up a lunch meet here. Always nice to visit with old friends and to get out Clackamas County way where the folks there are half way normal. The new owners (I guess they've had the place for quite a few years so not really new) did a nice job fixing the place up while still keeping it a Biker friendly gin mill. And they added food which is nice. The chowdah is quite good. Not the east coast creamy chowdah I am used to but instead has a nice spicy punch to it. Generous amount of clams which is always welcome. Decent prices. Of course they have beer and booze which I sadly no longer imbibe. The waitress/barkeep was nice and attentive. I gather she is the owner's daughter. Always available if we wanted something but otherwise left us alone to chat. I was surprised at how uncrowded the place was. Nice, half way warm sunny day you'd thing there would be bikes parked all down the street. But it was just the two of us and a tiny handful of what I assume are regulars. Of course you don't need to be a Biker to feel comfortable here. Anyone who works for a living like truckers, loggers and so on would feel very welcome here. Not a huge bar but ample seating for a goodly crew of guests. There's ample parking out front for bikes and a (free) public parking lot across the street. Sampler platter is huge and perfectly fried. The oil tastes fresh and everything is crispy and oh so yummy. Perfect cheat day meal!!! Clam chowder is on point also and the bowl is huge too. Great spot to grab some solid eats!!!! read more

We stumbled upon this place on our way to the mountain and we're already looking for an excuse to come back! (This could be our only reason and it would be worth it.) First, the staff blew our minds. A family that loves each other and the business they have built. Next, the food. Holy crap. We had fried corn on the cob, appetizers and homemade sauce. Pretty cool old biker pub! You know I've traveled to several countries and places across the US since covid. Like the rest of the world this place doesn't care much about masks and what not. I wore a mask because I'm super careful. However everyone seemed to know each other and it was a community place full of the local people who would probably stay home if they were sick. It seems totally acceptable for them to act normally. Portland on the other hand is full of people who have no solidarity and would put others at risk because they want to get their drink on. This place was quick to serve, friendly and I'm glad I grabbed a quick beer. The beer was cold the people were loud. I am giving it a 4 star because it just didn't have the phazazzz i miss from when I actually went to bars regularly. It's a nice bar though. read more

Five of us stopped in on the way to the mountain. What a welcoming place! The owners are very personal, the decor and art are top notch, and I had the best bar food I have ever had. They told us about Joe's Donuts up the block, and we went there next. Happy to support a community-oriented family-owned business. I want to return and try one of their burgers. There exists in Sandy a place to go and look at motorcycle porn, grab a Hamm's lager in a can, and eat fairly appetizing looking bar food. Actually there may exist more than one of these places, however the past few years I've visited Sandy over the holidays this is the one I've walked to most often. The drinks are poured stout, the place is pretty nice, the waitstaff has always been kind to an out of towner who didn't even know what Hamm's was (it never made it to Tennessee). It's a wee-bit divey, but in a nice way... not the smells like a bathroom sort of way. The crowds I've seen there were all pretty good natured, but your experience may vary. Oh, and did I mention the wall to wall bike porn? It's fabulous. read more

Disclaimer: I love dives. This is a good one. My bestie and I held an 'unofficial' Sandy High School 10-11 year reunion here and I've also bummed around up there during the good ole "Mountain Days'. Its usually pretty dead, but during aforementioned 2 events it was hoppin'! Being used to more, shall I say, 'metropolitan' drinking prices, my husband and I were THRILLED to be wasted on seriously - $16. This included tequila shots. Heck yeah! Good thing the parents live in walking distance! During the mountain festival bikers show off their bad to the bone rides by driving the bikes INTO the bar during the mediocre bands intermission - so that's pretty awesome... For our 'reunion' the bartender cut my bestie and myself some tab slack when she found out we were responsible for the large group of people who met up there! Hows that for service? Unnecessary at the already low prices, but appreciated the gesture. Decent selection of beers on tap and my husband (not gonna lie, and myself) enjoyed drinking the Northwests finest old man beer, Hamm's! Two servers, and a full bar of bikers on a Sunday afternoon WOW. These two women ROCKED the place with smiles. The service was prompt, even though they were swamped, the drinks were good and the food was excellent, and nicely priced. This is a great place, and I highly recommend it. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I waited at least forty minutes for my to go order. They did not pack the food to go, I had to wait another 5 min for them to pack it up. The cook had to ask the bartender how to make the order to go. When the cook brought out the food he apologized and said it was his third day working there. I brought the food home for me and my boyfriend and it was a mess. Soggy tater tots, sloppy burger with ripped bun, precooked bacon, overcooked patty. The polish dog was not cooked thru, cold in middle. The clam chowder was horrific, saltier than the ocean and super fishy. At about 4am my boyfriend started puking and having horrible diarrhea. He ate the clam chowder, I didn't have any. It's 8:20am and he's still puking. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!! read more

Very clean, organized, and well run. The bartender that served us was super sweet. The food looked good but I only ate one tiny onion ring off a friend's plate. At first glance one might assume this place is rough around the edges but it was nice for a "biker bar." They misspelled "Kethup" on the bottle but they cared enough to write the last refill date. Not sure what the owner paid for these over-enthusiastic 4-5 star reviews, but here is a REAL review: 1) Very weak draft beer selection (that's reason enough to say no thanks for me) 2) No big/good TV's to watch sports on (not sure how they missed that one) 3) No top shelf (can't afford a few bottles of good bourbon or scotch, apparently) 4) Food is low-quality dive-bar offerings (I don't recommend eating if you decide to drink here) 5) Bathroom was absolutely disgusting (I literally gagged from the smell and had to plug my nose while in there... remodel long overdue) 6) You may encounter some very rude 'regulars' here that don't take kindly to your presence or anything you have to say in THEIR bar. 7) Pool tables, balls, and cues are ready for the landfill. Does anyone actually pay to play on these? Yikes. In summary, I'm surprised this place stays open year after year... I guess the local alcoholics drink just enough to keep the doors open. I will say that the young gal behind the bar and the young man in the kitchen provided good service. I left a 25% tip because I felt sorry for them.
