My s/o and I popped in here on a weeknight to grab a nightcap. We were delighted to find a cozy spot with a huge selection, and friendly service. Over the course of our 1.5 hour visit, I had several small pours of various porters and stouts that I had rarely seen elsewhere, let alone on draft. My date was excited to pick from several sours and ciders on draft. Ah, variety! At the bar, Ryan provided us with great company and service. We enjoyed some conversation as we surveyed the spot. Despite seeming like a little 'hole in the wall' spot, this place has plenty of seats if you want to bring your friends. On the wall are photos from Gresham's history and development over the years. Looks like theres a booth and a couple seats outside, ready to be enjoyed, now that the weather is warming. We'll be back. read more

This was my second time here and I was not disappointed! The atmosphere of this place is very casual. Perfect for grabbing a beer with a friend. The bartender was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and didn't get tired of serving us samples. I do wish they had a little more broad selection and most of their beers were IPA's. I love that they offer games to play and have free popcorn as well. They may be small but they certainly have a lot of great local beers on tap. They have a few tables out front on the sidewalk as well to enjoy your beverage outside when the weather is nice. They have free popcorn and the guy manning the bar was nice. There were a few large flatscreen TVs playing sports, if you are interested in catching a game on the tube. read more

One of my favorite spots to grab a beer in downtown Gresham. They have 36 beers on tap that constantly rotates in new beers. In addition, they have several TV's up for you to watch any sporting event going on. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by. read more

I really love this whole concept of being able to walk in and sit down for a cold delicious micro beer. It's kind of like the old fashioned drug stores that had soda fountains only better! That's what they serve... I have to be honest though as their menu includes blueberry mint kombucha, ciders, and even micro cold coffee for what "ails" or ales you. The atmosphere/vibe is even more reason for me to like it as well as all of the beertenders that are there. The lighting is low key. There are places to sit outside and you can bring in food as well. I like these 2 things the best because I can also include Freddie my dog. It's very important especially in the summer when you don't want to leave your pups in the hot car or at home lonely. Im always looking for new beer spots and based on the reviews I was excited about this one. My excitement wore off quickly. The beer selection is great. No denying that. But I also like a good atmosphere when drinking and I didn't find that here. When we walked in the place got quiet and everyone at the bar just looked at us. I am normal looking fellow and these people seemed normal as well so I didn't get why the record scratch treatment. The actual bar itself is located in an odd location. Tucked away in the back and looks to maybe hold 8 people, at best. There is a good amount of tables and seating though, but no food was being served. To go with the odd vibe we walked into the bartender took a bit to ask if he could help us. There were maybe 10 people total in the place so he was not busy. He was just kinda ignoring us like everyone else did after the stare down we got for walking in which the bartender participated in. When we did get his "attention" he was very friendly and helpful. We went to a table by ourselves where the bartender couldn't see us. (again, poor layout) Quietly talked and quickly drank our beers and left. (No music was playing either) This is a one star experience for me all day but the beer selection was great so I cant say its all bad. Just bad enough for me not to go again. read more

There are regulars that chat up the owner at all times, but don't be afraid to walk up to the bar and let him know what you want. (That is how you order here, btw.) This place is great. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon with a friend, and it was quite busy (but we were able to grab a table without problem). Beer selection was really great -- lots of taps I didn't recognize. Also cold brew and kombucha which I'd like to sample on a follow up sometime. Took us a while to finally try this place out, and glad we did. Huge selection of beer, cider, and kombucha. The Growler Garage has a great feel to it, very welcoming and nice. Their beer list is extensive, and with most places in the greater portland area the menu is heavy on the IPAs. They have free popcorn and their bartender every time I have been there has been very knowledgeable on the beers they have. I remember a majority of the beers being local and microbrew, but I don't recall if they had any of the big names as well. As I prefer microbrews I appreciate this a lot. They have plenty of seating and some outside seating as well. And for a place like this, I was surprised at how nice the bathroom was. Many places of this size just go for a blank room with a toilet and sink, but their restroom was much better than that. read more
