If you drive too fast down the road you'll miss this absolute hidden gem of a place in Troutdale, OR. You walk in and the vibes are very east coast cheers bar vibes but brighter. The server we got was absolutely amazing and completely made our meal. He was on top of everything at all times, joked with us the whole time, and was even able to make our thirteen year old laugh multiple times (quite a feat). The beers were good just wished for a few more options, the food was the star outside of the service. Very surprising quality for a tiny little pub. The Brussels were perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. The nachos were delicious and gave me my first ever try of corned beef on nachos- AMAZING. The kiddo liked his burger but complained it was a tad overcooked. My grilled buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent on flavor and very moist. Would 100/10 recommend just for the server alone. More beer options and a yummier kiddo meal would make this a 5 star place but it's as close as you could get! read more

Excellent, casual dining option. No private parking lot, so find a spot in a nearby public lot or street side and walk over. It's the first building on the right as soon as you drive under the "Troutdale Gateway to the Gorge" arch. We were greeted as soon as we entered by a very friendly gentleman who sat us in a booth. The interior is raw wood walls and floors with a variery of colorful wall art including license plates, soccer team scarves over the windows and drawings. Very laid back vibe. Full bar is available with local beers on tap and a seasonal cocktail list at the table. The menu is Irish-American pub foods. We ordered a small Caeser salad with grilled chicken and a reuben with an upgraded side salad. The salad was fresh and the dressing tasty. Plenty of croutons and cheese on there. The reuben is thankfully not grilled in a pound of grease which makes for a messy meal. Instead it is toasted. The slaw on there has a very nice vinegar note and has a crunch to it. Lots of gooey cheese and plenty of salty meat. The combination of flavors and textures is well done. If we find ourselves back in the area we will absolutely return for the vibe and the food. read more

I have NO idea why this place only has a 4.0 on Yelp. I am a huge foodie and can say very confidently that this place is beyond amazing! We ordered the pretzel with cheese sauce, cheddar burger, reuben and fish 'n chips. EVERYTHING was 5 stars or better! Fresh tasting, clearly mostly made in-house. Seasoned perfectly and fried to perfection. I had no idea this place existed, but I will 100% be back! Would be a great stop before a concert at Edgefield. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Nice little spot although the carpet needs a little tlc as it's torn and looking very worn. I had a dinner sized chicken ceasar which was good. They have soups salads sandwiches and burgers along with a special. On a Sunday afternoon there is one person playing hostess, server and bartender. She managed it all like a pro. Her communication skills are truly next level. Yes I was listening. She'd bring menus to a table after seating them and let them know what her next steps were before she returned to that table. Ye Olde Pub was a winner for us! It was cold and windy late in the afternoon when we were on our way home from a Christmas tree farm. They welcomed us in and we were delighted with their delicious food. I'm a fish & chips girl, always in search of the best. This pub hit the spot! They make their own beer batter, which perfectly enrobes the mild cod. The pieces were huge! The fries were excellent. Normally fish & chips in this county come with a little cup of coleslaw. It helps me feel like I ate something nutritious along with my fried food! But Ye Olde Pub makes you choose between sides and it doesn't automatically come with their fish & chips. I liked their tartar sauce though. It was creamy and had a hint of sweetness, just how I like it. I guess I'll overlook the absence of coleslaw in my basket. My husband ordered their Reuben sandwich. He thought it was great. He got coleslaw but that counted as his side. I shared some of my fries with him. Rethink the coleslaw, Ye Olde Pub. Who cares if you don't get it at ye old pubs in England. Stop back in today for more of those potato winders. They are delicious! For my meal, I had a pub dip. It was like a French dip with white cheese and jalapeños. The flavor was awesome. I do, however recommend using your knife and fork as the cheese makes it fall apart super easy and then after you dip it, there's no chance of hanging onto it anymore. The flavor is good though I also had the coleslaw which taste good and of course the Arnold Palmer to wash it down. The staff again on this visit were completely awesome. So friendly and inviting. FINALLY, a restaurant/pub worth yelping about. We entered a warm and welcoming atmosphere . The server ( and I wish I knew his name) was the friendliest person I ever met. The menu was great. We ordered a split plate of the English Reuben with mesquite fries, and an order of Brussels. OMG.... The Reuben was one of the best we have ever eaten. First off, we visited during a heat wave and they had the grills off, for good reason. They had a "Beat the Heat" limited menu available and I chose the fish and chips. Wow! A quaint little spot in Troutdale that my Mum took me to for dinner the other evening. Parking is on the street and the restaurant itself is quite cozy, but the staff was friendly (although slow with our check at the end) and the drinks and food were all fantastic. We started off the table with the loaded Pubwinders (beer battered spiraled potatoes with beer fondue, bacon, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeños). So, so tasty! For entrees - my Mum had the steak bites and a salad and I tried their fish (cod) and chips. Both were excellent, although I did have to ask for malt vinegar twice. With only two wait staff though... totally understandable (as the place was half full on a Thursday night). Prices were as expected. Absolutely the worst in service and the food wasn't much better. The owner wouldn't leave us alone. Kept coming over and asking us questions. Where are you from? What town do you live in and so on. Then switched to telling us where he lived and all about him. I finally asked him to go away. Then we get our food. Luke warm fondue that had already developed the thick cold skin on top of the fondue which is normally served hot. The bread was like eating croutons. It was awful. He came over and I showed him how hard the bread was. He said it's always served like that. Nope, the previous owners knew how it should be served. All the food is excellent and they serve comfort here. Shepards pie, bread pudding and the burgers a delish. It it is the fondue and the pub winders we come for. This place is one of my favorite small restaurants around! I'm mainly leaving my review for my favorite item. Caesar STEAK and Brussel sprout salad w/ bacon. It melts in your mouth and the flavor is so good. My steak is cooked exactly how I ask for it to be each time. It's up there in price but it's so good I don't even mind. Their service is excellent as well. Everyone who works there makes you feel right at home. The patio is doh friendly when they have it open too. We will always be back, love this place! read more

We ordered by phone due to a local power outage and were delighted by our order of fish and chips. The fish and chips order is large. A two piece was more than my wife and I could eat and the order was the closest we have ever found to the fish and chips we got in England. Wandered in during the 'dead zone' you know, 2:30pm, when most restaurants relax, but the barkeep/waiter/order taker/busperson Todd took care of us right away. Expected items from your usual pub-grub fare, with some delightful twists. I had the Prime Sweet Jimmy, my wife the Reuben, each $20. I ordered the clam chowder as well since I'm always on the prowl for good clammy goodness. I also had a super tasty ginger beer (NA) and my wife a guiness, which our server upended a can in a glass in a fun show of how to pour. The chowder was very good - LOTS of clams, seasoned well. A little steep at $6. But a great effort. My wife gushed about the reuben. She had the side salad which was fresh and well prepared. My sweet Jimmy was pretty good, a little rich with the pub-cheeze tho, maybe too salty, but I inhaled it. The home-made chips were a real surprise, real thick sliced potato deep fried crisp. What a spectacular find! The beer was cold & the food delicious! Pretty sure we were served by the owner because you could see his love for the place. If it wasn't this guy needs a raise! We split the special (Swiss Burger that you dip in au jus) & an order of Pubwinders Fries (Curley steak fries with beer cheese, bacon & Jalapeños). Both were outstanding & Service was top notch! Burger was split for us and plated on two plates since he knew we were sharing. Instead of bringing a box for leftovers the boxed them up himself. Auper MID!!! We chose this place for fish and chips. Reservations at NOON on a Saturday. Only one person in the group was able to order the last order.of fosh and chips. The other 4 or 5 that planned on it had to order something else. We chose the fried broccoli ceasar salad ($27 with chicken!!) or the nachos ($20). The salad barely had deessing or parm. We asked for more and were charged for every sprinkle of cheese. The nachos advertised olives and tomatoes, but arrived with a pinch of each and most chips not even touched with cheese. We asked for more veg and were charged again. Ended up being $22 nachos that were salty as hell, void of everything that makes nachos nachos. The onky thing that was remotely worth the price was the fondue app, but it came with a family size amount of bread and would have been nice to add a smoked sausage or veg to dip. We left thirsty and unsatisfied in general. Way too expensive for the offerings. 3/10 overall. Highly disappointed as this has been on my list to try for sometime. Service was only ok.
