Lunch on a Friday at 1:00 pm and this place is busy but has plenty of seating. No outside seating is available and I wouldn't recommend for a group. It's a cozy and comfortable diner that is locally and family owned. I had the fried chicken, fries and slaw for $19.00. Choose between dark, white or mixed meat battered in a slightly sweet batter. The slightly sweet batter didn't cover all of the chicken which was disappointing but the skinless chicken was moist. The thick cut fries aren't crispy more like a baked potato texture but good. The garlic bread was thick and fresh with the perfect amount of butter. Great friendly service.

What a find. Don't drive by. You will miss one of the best home cooked meals you ever had out. Looks like your coming into someone's house to get something to eat. Sit anywhere the family will be right with you. Home cooking at it's best. 20 year old chilli recipe worth all those years of waiting for you find it. Sweet honey cornbread baked on premise. A little kick to the chilli but nothing that will over power you. Kind of like Goldilocks and the three alarm chilli. Just right. Service is super attentive bunch of grand moms runni g around making sure you are taking care of. Heaping portions. Meat a bunch of regulars and become one of the family. Once you stop you will stop back. The food is that good. Nothing fancy just home cooking right from grandmoms kitchen. Next time the chicken or maybe breakfast for sure. Served all day. Off the beaten path but like a lighthouse of good eats calling you in. Stop by and become a regular

Fantastic! We've been here 3 times and I keep meaning to write about it, but the food coma gets me every time If you're looking for healthy, keep walkin'. At the Screamin' Chicken, you're gonna eat well, rich and you will go home FULL and possibly with a box! Portions are heapin'. It's a small restaurant with about 10 tables and the largest one seats 6. Its decorated with... you guessed it, lots and lots of chickens! Chicken art in every size, shape, form and medium. The food is delicious. We haven't found a dish that we didnt like. Everything has been homemade and tastes like 'Nana Mirtle' is in the kitchen making it! By far, my fav is the Chicken, Chicken fried steak. It's a lightly breaded chicken breast that is fried to perfection. It's lightly breaded and super super moist. Not pounded out to span the entire plate. It was a nice thick breast coated in a crispy batter, not breadcrumb. And it was not oily.. Then its topped with a really good white gravy that is in between traditional gravy and alfredo sauce. I opted for the buttery, creamy grits that are more like polenta than southern grits. My daughter had the huckleberry pancakes and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. Both also really delicious! Staff is real nice. We met the owner today and she's a real spitfire! Good vibes all around! Can't say anything but good things about this place! Dont forget to get a punch card. 10th meal is free!

    Chicken tenders - BEST EVER!!!!

OMG JUST DO IT!!!!!! This little gem has the best hand cut and breaded chicken I've ever had! Got a bunch of made-from-scratch food to go and can't wait to try it! Thank you Jay and Tim and everyone else!! What a home town delight!!! Can't say enough good things!!!! Cozy little family diner.

Another Fabulous Breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville…read moreRating: We had another wonderful breakfast at The Diner in McMinnville. Our party of 4.5 was lucky to snag a spot on a typically busy Saturday morning; we must have hit the "sweet spot" because we arrived just before the line formed. A typical wait is 20-30 minutes for a table on weekends, but the food and service make it well worth it. We were greeted and seated quickly, and I really appreciated being offered a choice of seating. We opted for a booth, which worked perfectly for our little one in a booster seat. What made the visit truly special was the owner playing peek-a-boo with my grandson--such a sweet, personal touch that shows how much they care about their guests! The Diner is well-known for its boozy breakfast options. Our table enjoyed a Bloody Mary, Boozy Mimosas, and a Tequila Sunrise. All the drinks arrived quickly and were enjoyed tremendously. For the main course, we ordered: Breakfast Sandwich: Served on a soft, fluffy muffin with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. Pork Chili Verde (Special): Served over cheddar grits with fresh salsa, crème fraîche, and crispy tortilla chips. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Chicken Fried Steak: A family favorite that resulted in a "clean plate" as usual. Crispy Chicken Club Sandwich: Another lovely, solid meal. Another fantastic visit with great food and even better service. We will definitely be back!

As you walk in you are taken back to the 50's , from the floors to the decor. They have various booth style and table seating options. The staff were very friendly. We were seating quickly. They have a very ample menu. I was a little taken back by the pricing of the breakfast. Most meals were over 12 dollars, some standard meals as much as 24 dollars for a breakfast. I ordered a scrambled, it had eggs, veggies, cheese and potato's and jalapeños. It was a very large portion of food. My son had a pancake with eggs and bacon, he did not eat the rest of his bacon he said it had an odd taste. I would share that they have a huge menu with many options. The food quality was ok, probably not be back but it seems like they have a good following of customers.

The classic diner vibes make the whole experience feel cozy and nostalgic. Our meals were about $24.99 each -- a bit on the steeper side for diner food, but the portions were generous and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Definitely one of those spots where you leave full and happy. The seating was cute and upholstery looked recently updated. Bathroom was clean. I'd absolutely come back again for the diner experience alone. A cute, underrated place for a laid-back brunch!
