We happen to stop by the Blue Moon diner in Beaverton, it's a classic 50's old school diner next to the Planet Fitness off of TV HWY and 198th. As you walk in you are taken back to the 50's , from the floors to the decor. They have various booth style and table seating options. The staff were very friendly. We were seating quickly. They have a very ample menu. I was a little taken back by the pricing of the breakfast. Most meals were over 12 dollars, some standard meals as much as 24 dollars for a breakfast. I ordered a scrambled, it had eggs, veggies, cheese and potato's and jalapeños. It was a very large portion of food. My son had a pancake with eggs and bacon, he did not eat the rest of his bacon he said it had an odd taste. I would share that they have a huge menu with many options. The food quality was ok, probably not be back but it seems like they have a good following of customers. read more

The classic diner vibes make the whole experience feel cozy and nostalgic. Our meals were about $24.99 each -- a bit on the steeper side for diner food, but the portions were generous and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. Definitely one of those spots where you leave full and happy. The seating was cute and upholstery looked recently updated. Bathroom was clean. I am always impressed by the design of old-school diners. It feels like I'm stepping into a movie set! While the food here is very standard, the portions are very big and the service is quite efficient. I got the Blue Moon omelette, which had a very strong mushroom flavor and was loaded with vegetables and sausages pieces inside. It was on the expensive side as the conversion rate to CAD isn't great, but apparently this diner was featured in a video game, so it's worth checking out if you're visiting the area! read more

I really want to support smaller businesses & restaurants as much as possible. And I understand costs are skyrocketing so I know I'm going to pay more for meals especially when traveling. I don't understand the prices for the menu items for this cutesy retro diner-themed spot. It was really high for what you get. Mimosa was 3/4 OJ, the scramble had a TON of oversized chunks of potatoes, and the benedict was passable with one overcooked egg and one nicely runny egg. How cool is this? A 50's diner that appears to be a giant trailer. It's a long building with every seat looking out giant windows. They even have the feel right with the orders being called and a spinning ticket holder. I had a cheeseburger and fries that took me back in time, with just the right seasoning and crispy fries. Solid good and excellent service! A few minutes ago I finished my brunch at this diner. It couldn'thave been more satisfying and the server, Courtney was attentive and made me feel welcome! We had a great conversation after my meal! We just moved to Aloha, Oregon this past April and I see the Blue Moon Cafe while driving back and forth on the TV Highway. This afternoon was my first time dining here and I was quite pleased. I ordered a garden omlette+spinach with hash browns a single pancake and a side of fruit. The only disappointment was that they don'thave egg beaters or egg whites which is important fir those of us trying to cut carbs and fats. Other than that it was tasty and Courtney made several trips to refill my coffee and water. The portions were quite generous and I took home enough for another meal! Overall, it was a great experience! I promise to leave pictures of the food and the establishment when I update this review. I'm usually ok with "diner food" which typically means mediocre but a good value. I recently stopped in here and ordered the chicken fried steak with hash browns and eggs over easy and black coffee. The food arrived quickly, which is not always a good thing because in this case the out of a box hash browns were completely missing anything resembling brown. They were completely blond and had zero seasoning. The eggs were cooked nicely and thecoffee was ok. The chicken fried "steak" had a stingy thin smear of season-less gravy. The "steak" was a hard dry preformed frozen, pre-breaded piece of hamburger - definitely not steak. To add insult to injury- they have the audacity to charge $24.99 for this plate of substandard food. Not good and definitely not a good value. read more

The guy from my old stomping grounds in Boston who reviewed this place in 2018 had it right: You WANT it to be the South Street Diner, the Liberty, Victoria's, or any of the other countless club-car diners in that town. Hey, you want it to be one of those World's Fair diner kits that proliferate the entire Northeast. This, my friends, ain't that. This is someone who pulled this scrapper off a lot, polished the chrome, put a bunch of Coca-Cola and Hershey's tchotchkes on the walls next to old Life magazines, and charged people $25 to $35 a plate to eat in a diner museum on a sad orphan highway across from an Intel factory. The thing about actual diners is that they aren't nostalgia factories. They aren't pulled off of the lot of American Graffiti and plunked down into your town. They're institutions that spend 24 hours a day serving the community and getting their menu down to a science. When your "diner" is scarcely open half the day and more concerned about looking the part than actually feeding people, it'll show. Every time I stop into this self-proclaimed "retro gem" in an attempt to address my hunger for the South Street's banana-stuffed french toast by ordering banana pancakes, I'm amazed by the Blue Moon's commitment to undercooking griddle items. Short of serving you eggs, flour, spices, and a whole banana, it would be difficult for them to send you more underdone ingredients than the pale wraiths that they call pancakes. The french toast is little better, as you can see the egg holding onto the wedges of toast and cinnamon by fingertips after a brief dalliance with the griddle. Flash-frozen fries are brought to modest golden texture. The bread on the club sandwich, meanwhile, is toasted to the hardness of certain diamonds. Woe to those who enter this place for dinner and choose a dish from any page other than the burger menu, as my cousin once referred to the pork chop plate as "chew toys." The thing is Beaverton has an actual diner with some history behind it--Tom's Pancake House--that does all of the above far better than this place that's living every day as if it's a rerun of Happy Days. It doesn't look like "the '50s" because it doesn't have to. It's a diner, not a convalescent home for octogenarians whose failing minds can't handle the march of time. If you spend more time giving people quick dishes they can enjoy at a reasonable price and less time pinning up pictures of Lucy and waiting for Fonzie to pull up outside, you might actually convince people you've been a staple here at least as long as the surrounding strip mall. read more

We arrived about 20 minutes early to opening and the diner looked really appealing with its 50's diner design and shiny quilted pattern chrome exterior. Such a cool place! Almost out of place, but what an icon to be in Oregon. You would expect a diner in CA or along Route 66 but this was what we needed. Upon opening of the doors, we were greeted with 50's era music playing and thankfully an empty diner due to it just opening. Was able to get some empty set design photos, I'm sure they are busy and not always so open for a lucky photographer like me. At the chicken fried steak and it was actually pretty tasty. Didn't like the hashbrowns very much, but they weren't horrible. The toast was good, and the coffee was drinkable. The waitress was friendly and Down to Earth, which to me would bring me back before the food would just because that's the way I am with places. Such a sad, sad decline of what was once an amazing diner. My 5-star review from 2015 unfortunately doesn't hold true anymore. We stopped by for a couple pieces of pie: both were stale and they were freezer-case pies, not fresh. We switched to a small sundae and the ice cream wasn't great, it was like fast food soft serve. Blue Moon Diner, the covid years must have really hit you hard. May I suggest reducing your menu to a few good items, and raise the quality of those? Basically they need to revamp their model. I hope they can survive and looking forward to trying again in a year or so. read more

My boyfriend has been wanting to take me here since he's been at this diner so long ago! It was a very unique 1950's style diner. I was craving for something spicy so I got the jalapeño burger ($16.99) and he got the bleu burger ($16.99). The fries were cooked to perfection, not too soft but not over cooked either. The burgers were also so delicious, especially with the bacon! They also asked how we'd like the burger done, which was surprising. It was definitely really filling. We also got coffee for $3.49 but the coffee seems overpriced in my opinion and wasn't worth the $3. The service was so fast and attentive! I really appreciated that about them. They came by quickly to get our order and even though it was packed there for lunch, our food came out at a reasonable time too. Stopped by Blue Moon Diner and had a pretty decent meal! I ordered the clubhouse sandwich and substituted a Caesar salad for the fries. The sandwich was solid: fresh ingredients, nicely toasted bread, and the mayo had a slight sweetness that was a nice touch. It's hard to go wrong with a club sandwich, and this one didn't disappoint. However, the Caesar salad wasn't my favorite. The dressing was overly tangy for my taste, so I'd stick with the fries next time. The diner itself has a cute vibe and wasn't very busy when I visited. My wife noticed this place one day and we decided to try it. The decor is a really cool old diner style. That seems very out of place for the surrounding area. If you ever played fallout four, that's basically the vibe, this place emanates. The service is very friendly, seems like a thai owned place. There is a large abundance of items, breakfast lunch, and even Thai themed dishes. We didn't try the desserts, but will try that next time I got the Thai omelette which was an omelette with mushrooms, bell peppers basil topped with the curry sauce. It was a bit strange, having Curry on my breakfast item, but overall was still enjoyable and good. My wife's pancakes were really good. She like them a lot. They have NO GLUTEN FREE foods. One would expect that a diner of this size would have gluten free pancakes and waffles and maybe even gluten free bread for sandwiches. I ordered the Mexican scramble which was decent and my guest had the Blue Moon scramble. Both had an adequate amount of mix ins. Service was good. The refilled my friends coffee numerous times but never ask me if I'd like a refill of my ice water. I won't be back as I have celiac and they make no attempt to serve people like myself. Potatoes are my favorite, especially during breakfast. This was a cute and well decorated diner that we stopped by. The stuffed hash browns were sooo good, crispy thin potatoes paired with the savory bacon, adding on the gooey cheese then paired with an egg yolk. It was heavenly. "5 and a half stars" per my kids! First of all the menu is huge! Breakfast all day PLUS specials up on the whiteboard, which I didn't see until too late -- things like the soup of the day. There is also desserts! Right when you walk in there's a small pie case -- I saw banana cream and cinnamon rolls; plus they have milkshakes (and will make them boozy for you). It was pretty quiet when we went in for our weekday dinner. One waitress working the front and taking care of all that role entails: hosting, taking orders, cleaning up. But service was prompt and attentive the whole time. There are booster seats and high chairs for the kids, but no crayons for entertainment so BYO. Kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers, fries and breakfast plates -- said the pancakes were almost as good as McDonalds [[eyeroll...]]. I liked my country benedict tho the sausage was a bit salty. My husband ate up all his chicken fried steak. I don't think Yelp does the dollar sign ratings anymore but this is a $$ place -- some of the larger breakfast platters were more than $20. Granted it's an adorable diner that's clean. From reading other Yelp reviews, I was hoping for a good experience. The place was not super busy when we came in. We waited for the waitress to seat us. As opposed to coming to meet us she just points us to our table. Realizing we were a little bit tight with space. She told us to move the other table together, and we complied. She handed menus out and took drink orders. Then came later, and brought the drinks out. Waited for what seemed like forever for her to take our orders. When she was done I handed her the menus and thanked her. No response. I was honestly getting some vibes of racism from the server. She was the sole one working the floor. Other customers came in and she was a little more gracious to them. Our food came much later and took a while to be served. By that time my French toast, and poached eggs were cold. We wanted to get Roxy's on Labor Day but it was closed. We pulled into the lot anyway and immediately saw the Blue Moon Diner and figured we should try there! We were greeted by friendly staff, acknowledged, and sat in a booth within less than 2 seconds of walking in. Our server, Richie, was on point! He was quick, efficient, and down to earth - honesty, what makes a better server? He also knew several "regulars" who must come in and greeted them all like they were his good friends. We ordered burgers and shakes which were delicious! All American diner food - Yum! The banana shake is out of this world! The decor was super fun and the place was clean with lots of cool retro diner art to look at! Fun music as well! Thank goodness Roxy's was closed so we could stumble into this joint and find a new favorite place in the neighborhood! We will be back! read more

Who would have thought there would be such an adorable diner just a few blocks from where we live. It is called Blue Moon, and they did a great job of keeping in theme. The building itself is chrome and inside it has the 50's dinner vibe with blue booths and panneling. The walls were decorate with old ads and magazine covers from the 50's. The food is very traditonal diner food, with the exception of what I had, which was the curried omlete. I tend to lean towards the unique so this is what I went with. It was fine, but didn't blow me away. What i always love at dinners is there hot chocolate, with piles of whip cream. That was the shinning star of the whole experience. I saw a sign that says it offers adult milkshakes. I think this will be a must on our next return. read more

been meaning to try for awhile now, and pretty happy i did. keep in mind this is a locally owned place, and can get pretty busy on weekends! the staff really do try their best to cater to everyone, regardless. be patient! i opted for the thai omelette, since it seemed like something out of the ordinary from standard breakfast menus (and because i'm thai) needless to say, it was pretty great - i was a huge fan of the yellow curry sauce that came with it! i opted to add some avocado to mine. it was just a big portion, so i didn't end up finishing it and brought some home. i love that this is a small local place and still stays busy! they open until 9 PM most days, so if you dont make it for breakfast, the lunch and dinner menu seem equally as satisfying. i felt bad taking a booth table since it was just me and seeing that there was a wait, but once i changed to the counter they were super fast to accommodate the next party. customer service and the overall diner vibe really shine here. i look forward to trying other things on their menu! read more
