I drove in excess of 40 miles this morning for breakfast at Tom's and have no regrets. Wouldn't want to make the drive everyday, but really enjoyed breakfast here. The environment is very warm and welcoming. Staff members were friendly. Our server, Laila, went above and beyond to provide us with an excellent experience. She kept my coffee full, and came by at perfect intervals to ensure we had all that we needed. She also made excellent recommendations from the menu. I had the Dutch German pancake, a.k.a. the Dutch baby, and it was everything I had hoped it would be. A very eggy treat with a lovely, crispy finish. Once I added butter, lemon juice from fresh wedges, and powdered sugar, it was perfection. My dining companion had the carb free breakfast with sausage and bacon, but she added onions, bell peppers, and broccoli ($1.25 each) to create what she described as "the perfect omelette", and added that her bacon was prepared delightfully. I am a coffee snob, so often do not order coffee from cafés and such, but went ahead and gave them a try having read a review about their coffee being good. It is. It's very good. Restroom was as clean and well-stocked as it could be. There is ample parking in front and on the side, and I can't think of any reason you would not want to have a breakfast lunch or dinner at this place. Excellent in every way.

Finished our entire meal and I forgot to take pictures beforehand because it was so good and we were so hungry. We went on a saturday morning at 10 and it took about 10 minutes to get our seat. I got the crepes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream and it was good. and my sister got the corned beef hash which is a winner. We really like that corned beef, it is fresh and seasoned well.

Why fill this table if you have a whole restaurant full of empty tables?!

The food was decent but the service lacks. There were less than five other groups seated with probably more than 30 vacant tables and they seated us in a tiny corner just off the front entrance. My husband was so upset he wanted to leave. I asked the waitress if we could move to another table and her response was odd... "Why? Where do you want to sit?" With an air of attitude. I gently explained my husband preferred not to be in this tiny corner and she allowed us to move. We should have just left!

She has full situational awareness that she carries with her throughout said days and it shows. She need not be smiling at all time, because her sincerity is her charm. It seems the entire staff trusts her to do right by all persons and they respect her authority (as evident per their efforts). The Kitchen - WOW. Much joy in the back of the house! Beyond the bar is a small and effective protocol for exclusively in-house, fresh prepped treats; always made per order. The (cheese) sauces for chips/macaroni on everything, all the time.

For the past few months or possibly more, there is a server/closing-manager (male Caucasian, glasses, ponytail) who only reluctantly provides the HH menu. About two months ago, I asked when HH started, and he said in 7 minutes (i.e., it was 9:53pm). I asked how much I'd save on the beer I was contemplating if I waited for 7 minutes, and he said a dollar or two, so I told him I'd wait until then to place my order. It seemed like a pretty light day, yet he took a full 20+ minutes to come take our order -- it felt like he was punishing me. Last night, it was 10:10pm and I asked if there was a HH menu. He said "not yet." I thought he meant that they hadn't yet been published, but when I went to the bar to say hi to someone I know, I saw a HH menu already on the bar. I'd already ordered off the regular menu, and chose to not change to something on the HH hour just to avoid the conflict. I have no idea what is inspiring this behavior. Perhaps people who order off HH menus don't tip well? In any case, this new HH attitude has definitely dampened my enthusiasm for Fireside. Which is sad since it still has a great tap list and menu.

Because it's somewhat hidden in the corner of a Safeway shopping plaza. Look for the Baskin Robbins or Wells Fargo ATM and your find it. Like other reviews, when busy, parking can be a bit horrendous. But in hindsight, I'm not gonna reduce a star just because of location. * Bar Food Menu & Dining * Their menu starts with shareable bites, like a pretzel, tacos, quesadilla, loaded nachos, and even a charcuterie plate. Slightly larger dishes would be their Cubano and Brisket Press sandwiches. They even have a few choices for soup and salads, and a couple of dessert items listed. Don't forget to check the chalkboard next to the bar for specialty dishes and drinks. As for dining-in, they've got sturdy wooden tables that can accommodate 4-8 people. Bar stools by the windows, and a fairly large outside patio area. And with the times I've been here, I've never seen a dirty table. Very well maintained (two thumbs up). A few TV monitors showing the game, but its not like a noisy sportsbar. * Drinks & Services* You've got your choice of craft beers that rotate like a standard tap room. They also have tasty seasonal cocktails, but their normal everyday cocktails are just as good. And if you're gonna have a charcuterie board, then you've got to offer a wine list option right? Well they got that too! One last thing to mention, they've got some top-shelf bourbon and whiskey. The 649 is a bar that offers it all! Service has also been welcoming and top-notch. I recall only been served by Rich, Steven, and Crystal, but they always seem to craft up some lovely cocktails. Or deliver some clean tasting everyday type of bar food as well. * Last Call * Normally in my reviews, I'd list every item that I've tried, with price included. But The 649 is such a unique type of bar experience that I feel you should try for yourself; To me, their offerings are reasonably priced. Dining in is nothing fancy, but service is excellent. It's a great hangout for a business date, of even after a first date. I've got nothing but love for local support!

There's seating on two floors, however, even on Thursday night it was packed, so definitely make sure to secure a reservation. I got the passion fruit lime soda to drink, which was sour and refreshing. The burrata came with fruity chutneys and chili crisp. These sauces created a nice spicy, tangy, and salty flavor profile. The garlic naan that came with the burrata was a bit too toasted for my liking. For my main, I got the ricotta gnocchi. It was incredible. The chanterelles on top were delicious. I loved the bourguignon sauce as it had a strong umami flavor. The gnocchi itself was soft and pillowy. Overall the dish was indulgent and robust in flavor.
