I went here as a kid with my family, but came to revisit here again with our dog. The breakfast food here is so good. We got the Shakshuka Skillet, Bacon and Spinach Skillet, and blueberry French toast. The skillet dishes came with house salad. The shakshuka skillet is perfect if you want a savory brunch that is balanced in flavor. My favorite is the bacon and spinach skillet which is very rich, creamy, and savory. We devoured everything here. We wanted to try the blueberry French toast, but it was not as good as their skillet dishes. They brought out food pretty quickly especially since we came close to closing and finished right when they were about to close up shop. We originally had our name put on waitlist in the Hawthorne location, but realized they don't have outdoor seating. Make sure that it is the Beaumont location if you want outdoor seating to bring your furry friend. Also, the Beaumont location seems to be less crowded too.
I got the biscuits and the vegetarian mushroom gravy and oh my gosh it was so good!! I'd never had biscuits and gravy like that and I'm so glad I tried it! Delicious especially with the eggs on top. And I do not know what the West Coast does to their bacon but wow that some of the best bacon I've ever had!
We found this restaurant through a recommendation and it was a great spot! We had about a 15 minute wait for our table of three. It's a small restaurant with a few outdoor tables for two people. As we were waiting, we we able to see that one table got pancakes and that inspired my daughter to order one too! Service was speedy, which was nice. I ordered the shakshouka and it was very flavorful. I loved that our meals came with a side salad, which was so lovely! I was in the clean your plate club today! My husband had the sausage breakfast sandwich, which he said was really good and as mentioned previously, my kiddo ordered a pancake. I tried a bite of her pancake and it was one of my all time favorite pancakes from a restaurant! We will happily be back when we are in Portland again!
I've been wanting to try Little griddle for a while now. The wait can be a bit brutal on the weekend, so I'd recommend putting your name on the virtual waitlist prior to arrival. There is only neighborhood street parking, FYI. There's only a handful of tables inside (and a couple outside) but the space is nice and cozy. They have both plants and art on the walls for sale. Their menu offers a number of options for both drinks and food. I had a mango mimosa (one of the best mimosas I've had in some time) to drink, and a pancake and the vegetable hash to eat. The pancake was wonderful. The hash was a great mix of veggies and the most perfect poached eggs on top. It was served with a small spring mix salad. My complaint with all the food was that it was just ok. While prepared well, it all lacked flavor. Nothing seasoned or stood out as a great dish. The service was fantastic. A small staff, but they all were doing everything and I believe everyone touched our table throughout our dining experience. I'd go back, but it wouldn't be at the top of my list to revisit.
I had a fantastic experience at The Little Griddle. The atmosphere is so fun and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I was amazed at how super quick the food came out, and it was absolutely delicious--tasty, fresh, and gave me that perfect home-cooked breakfast feeling.

The huevos benedictos were phenomenal!!! Braised pork shoulder, poached egg, avocado, hollandaise, pico, cotija...you kidding me?!? So damn good! The side salad is a perfect compliment. My Irish coffee definitely not shy on the Irish! Loved it! My partner had some over medium eggs (good execution) with bacon and a biscuit. The biscuit was fantastic - crispy layers of dough! Service is okay, but reminiscent of a diner.
We had breakfast here such a cute little spot. Staff were super friendly, service was fast, food was so good. We had the French toast, challah bread yum. The bacon and cheddar skillet that comes with a greens salad ( the dressing was so fresh and delicious). The sauce on the skillet was perfect with the bacon and cheddar. We also got the breakfast sandwich which for being basic was really good perfect biscuit. Definitely will be back!

There was a bit of a wait (which was fine, given the small interior) but the place looks very cozy inside. I was seated and given a menu, and it was nice to see the art and plants all around, which gave the space a very welcoming vibe. I ordered a plate that had potatoes, eggs any way you wanted, some sausage and a biscuit. The potatoes were flavorful and my egg was cooked perfectly. The biscuit was interesting. I'm from the south and I had never had a biscuit quite like it. It was golden, but almost like it had been pan fried on the outside, or cooked in a salamander. It was delicious, but not flaky. That's not a critique, just it was very different than any other biscuit I had eaten before. The servers were very nice, and the coffee very good. I'd certainly come back! It's good to plan to spend a bit of time here tho. Between the parking (street only, and limited), and limited seating, there is often a wait.

Although the space is small, it feels cozy and intimate rather than crowded, which adds to its charm. The menu offers a wide variety of tasty options, with each dish thoughtfully made using fresh, high-quality ingredients. We added our name to the waitlist beforehand, helping us skip a long wait. The restaurant's small size and vintage decor evoke classic Portlandia charm. We're excited to go back and try more dishes from their menu. The pancake was delicious and super soft--must try!
A little brunch before the airport. It was a great stop. Plenty of street parking. Service was good. Value yes. Food was tasty. Would come back for another delightful treat.
Such a lovely little place! Sweet, helpful staff, clean, and really great food and drink. The drip coffee was very smooth and they kept my cup full. My breakfast partner had the veggie hash which was enjoyed very much. I had the Truckstop breakfast with 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, veggie sausage (comes with your choice of protein), and a cat's head biscuit (that's what we called giant biscuits in the South). The cook prepared the scrambled eggs perfectly - I order eggs "scrambled, soft" but don't always come out that way, but they were expertly on target here. The breakfast potatoes were glorious- a generous serving of perfectly seasoned, fluffy soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, two pieces of tasty vegan sausage, and the biscuit had been sliced and heated on the stove and came with butter and what I suspect might have been housemade berry jam. I am fussy about pancakes and didn't see anyone else with them on their plates (as I rubbernecked around the room to see what people were eating) but I think I'll try one next time, now that I know what an exceptionally good job they did with everything on this first visit. Street parking. Use of their on-line waiting list is encouraged.

This was absolutely one of our favorite spots when we visited Portland. The reviews are accurate, guys! The wait is long; however, if you join their waitlist through Yelp, you can save some time. The restaurant is on the smaller side, so it may not be ideal for large parties unless you're okay with being split up. We ordered the huevos benedictos, French toast, and a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit with a house salad. We paired our meal with a cold brew latte. The food was amazing, and the service was great. Our waitress was kind, and the host was helpful and informative. read more
Great little spot for brunch. Service was slightly slow but reasonable. If you pay with cash there is a slight discount. French toast was good. The sausage biscuit was yummy. I wish the egg was cooked a little less to be runny. The liquid runny egg would have given the biscuit a bit more moisture while eating because without it, it was a touch dry. We stopped by on Sunday morning before Memorial Day and had a table within minutes. I ordered the Huevos Benedictos (braised spiced pork shoulder, avocado, cilantro, cotija, hollandaise, pico de gallo, citrus squeeze, english muffin) with a side of potatoes and a michelada. My partner had French toast with salad. The bendictos were amazing. I chose savory over sweet 10 times out of 10 and this was so good. The biscuit had a a bit of crunch, the eggs were perfect and I licked the plate clean. I added a bit of the house made hot sauce to the potatoes. My partner's French toast looked good and they had a salad as the side. The salad was incredible. I wish I had ordered it instead of the potatoes. It consisted of mixed greens and hazelnuts topped with poppy-seed dressing. So good! read more
I absolutely love this place, first off the location on Hawthorne does not get better. There is so much to do near bye and the vibes are always perfect especially during the summer. The food is great. If you want some yummy breakfast/brunch food but don't want to spend 30$ this is the place to go. I got a coffee and an entree for under 20$ which is hard to do at most sit down breakfast lunch spots. The eggs are always amazing here and you can't go wrong with their pulled pork options as well. The service is so amazing, I usually never have any issues or problem when I come here but today they were just a tad bit late on bringing my food out compared to the rest of my party. The server apologized and even discounted my food for the inconvenience which I thought was very thoughtful. They do a great job of making you feel welcome and the ambiance inside just adds to this feeling in so many ways. I would recommend you give Little Griddle a try if you are in the area! read more

Every. Single. Item. Was. Delicious. Country Benedict: the braised chicken was cooked to perfection, the hollandaise was perfect, and that was the tastiest, best biscuit I have ever had...AND I LIVE IN THE SOUTH! I also added a side of potatoes which were well-seasoned, crispy, and comforting. (Not pictured) My friend got the french toast which she thoroughly enjoyed and I also got to try some and loved that it was fresh bread, not overly sweet, and topped with fresh fruit sauce. We did note that it needed more but that might be the south in us that wants diabetes in everything. Lastly...the cold brew latter that they added their house made brown sugar syrup to. BEST coffee on my trip. I ordered a second one to go. The service was top notch. We laughed a lot, the place is quaint and cute. 12/10! read more

Cute/ TINY breakfast spot. Lots of local art on the wall which I absolutely love about Portland. Local coffee roasters as well- spicy Bloody Mary is spicy doesn't always work that way. Service was decent, $60 for breakfast for two only one alcoholic beverage. read more

We arrived right when they opened, and it was the perfect way to start the day. The restaurant is small and cozy, but the food was absolutely incredible. Service was fast, the staff was friendly, and every dish was fresh and delicious. Easily one of the best breakfasts we had during our trip to Oregon. Highly recommend! read more

My sandwich was SO good, its very cute and homey in there, service was OK. We came in 45 minutes before closing and it was 10 minutes before closing and it felt like they were trying to rush us out. read more

Great place. Excellent food with a feel good 'vibe' and attentive and engaging staff. They're pretty fun too. And the Owner and Cooks are worth standing up to cheer about. Little Griddle is one of my top two breakfast/ brunch spots in Portland. read more

It's been a long while and glad they're still knocking it out of the park. Don't underestimate the side salad that comes with most breakfast entrees. It's a delicious complement and gives whatever you're enjoying a healthy feel. The chicken biscuit is not the handheld kind as there's lots of oozing goodness. And this isn't some pre-fab dry white meat patty, great flavor. Service was excellent. The delicious homemade lemonade is a deal. Lovely spot and overall vibe. read more

Been here a few times and have not had a bad experience. Starts with a cup of good coffee, then a well-portioned breakfast that does not disappoint. There's only about 10 small tables here so get there early and be ready to wait a few minutes. It's worth it. read more
My husband and I couldn't have made a better choice for our spur-of-the-moment breakfast outing at Little Griddle this morning. We arrived just after 9 AM on a Saturday, which seemed ideal. We found a table for two in the half-filled restaurant, just in the nick of time! Within ten minutes of our arrival the popular restaurant had a 12-person waitlist. I can't stress enough how adorable Little Griddle is. They pack a lot of cuteness into this small footprint of a cafe with 10-12 tables that stretch from the bright window in the front, to the kitchen window in the back. The ocean blue ceiling has touches of gold trim throughout, and the featured works by local artists help make the space feel extra special. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a side of roasted potatoes. The presentation was lovely, and the biscuit was expertly made. The meals seem shareable as the portions are generous. Every dish has a vegetarian option, and diners will find a wide variety of breakfast and brunch items on the menu. The overall vibe of Little Griddle is bright and happy. The staff were smiling and pleasant, and very attentive to our needs. I happily left a 25% tip and promised to come back again soon. This may be one of my new favorite breakfast places as it's conveniently located near my home and the food is DELISH! read more

Little Griddle is my favorite breakfast joint at the moment, I've tried many in Portland...and there are a lot of good ones. The breakfast here (I haven't had brunch or lunch) is good, down home diner food, which has it's own atmosphere, like film noire. I'm an egg for breakfast guy and they do eggs beautifully. So the food is mucho satisfying but the folks who work there (and in the 41st and Fremont one) are friendly and funny and professional in the most laid back way. It's Portlandia done right. I'm also an artist, and they let me hang my little collage, which is actually entitled "Breakfast Down at the Neighborhood Diner" on the a wall by the counter, so don't forget to take a look at it. It's pretty good, if I do say so myself. Beware, parking in the Hawthorne District is hairy. read more
