Overall rating would be 3.25 Went for brunch with 2 friends and the place was pretty empty- maybe 3 or 4 other tables the entire time we were there. The restaurant is connected to The Embassy Suites. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed to be doing a lot of things. She took our order, made our lattes, made all the drinks actually, running food, etc. Service was slower, but she was busy doing other things so it is hard to fault someone for that aspect. It did take quite awhile to pay (at least 20 minutes after asking for the check) and the tip is already included (20%). The food was good, but not great. I opted to try their pancakes that had cotton candy on it and it was okay. My friends liked their food, but it wasn't anything special. They did offer a complementary birthday cake shot for the birthday girl we were celebrating which was nice. Things to note- it's street parking- 2 hours Parking Kitty. I ordered the "best English breakfast in Portland" at Kingsland Kitchen and it was honestly one of the worst breakfasts I've had. The bangers were completely inedible, very strange texture and taste that didn't resemble proper English sausages at all. Or any sausages for that matter. The beans were advertised as Heinz, but they were clearly mixed with a cheaper variety and tasted off. The bacon was paper thin and also had an odd texture and flavor. Wow, this place was very on Sunday morning. Even though they were busy, they were able to help us get seated fairly quick. We chose to dine inside, because it was a little cold to sit outside. Very nice inside, but it is quite loud. For my order, I had the fried chicken eggs Benedict and their yummy French toast! I didn't have these 2 dishes to myself. My mom and I split this as I couldn't decide on those 2. I'm glad we did, and my favorite from the 2 were the French toast! The syrup they served with this seems really lite! It was not sweet. As for the fried chicken Benedict, I thought this was good too. That was lightly seasoned. We had a party of ten but with a reservation made in advance. Happy they can accommodate such a large party as the place isn't huge. Our server did a great job handling our drinks and food. Ordered the Hollis Hashbrown Casserole because it looked interesting. Seemed to be the popular choice at our table as several ordered it. Delicious and filling dish. Good for splitting with a couple or extras for take home. The restaurant does not have bathrooms but the Embassy Suites does in the lobby which you can get to from inside the restaurant. You make sure to grab the key card. The only thing I disliked was that the food was brought out too far spaced apart. The final order arrived 15-20 min after the first order. Made the experience not ideal as you don't want your food to get cold but you don't want to start eating until everyone gets their food. Great spot for breakfast! We were lucky enough to walk right in on a Saturday morning. I immediately knew that I wanted the English breakfast since it's not something I can always get. My husband got the fried chicken benedict. Everything was good and pretty quick considering it was a Saturday. We also had plenty of food and both brought some home. The place is located right next to another popular breakfast spot and can be accessed from the street or from the adjoining hotel lobby. Everything was cooked in the way I would have wanted -- perfect eggs, and charred crisp on everything else. The other dishes and the drinks were a bit underwhelming in my eyes. I had the Fried Chicken Benedict and it was absolutely delicious--crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the hollandaise. The menu is just about one page. I wish there were a few more options. I struggled to pick but landed on the kingsland breakfast. It was a very typical plate that I could've made at home and saved $17 + gratuity on. Eggs were typical. Bacon was thankfully not overcooked! On the thinner side. The potatoes were undercooked. Had good color and were hot but weren't soft at all. I also don't think my toast was actually toasted. You have to add your own salt and pepper on everything too. My friends received undercooked pancakes and didn't love their plates. Also keep in mind that an automatic 20% gratuity is added to groups of 5 or more. Went with the family today and we were blown away. First of all, our waiter Chase was absolutely fantastic. Truly one of the best servers I've had anywhere. His customer service was perfection, he was so friendly and on top of everything. We informed him of a severe food allergy and he was so considerate and caring about it. He also brought both of the kids special glittery water. I hope that the owner is reading this because Chase deserves a raise for his impeccable customer service! Now, on to the food. This is a cute spot for a nice meeting with friends or for a work meeting. The server was nice as well. The food portions are huge, it would be a plus if it was good. The lack of any seasoning is pure waste of food, money and time for customers. A side of fruit was an up-charge because you can only get French fries or big chunks of potatoes with your breakfast dish. Having avocado on toast under eggs without a dash of salt on either! I saw some 1 star reviews before I went here and I'm absolutely confused on how anyone didn't like it here!! The service was amazing! Shout out to Integrity and Cassie they worked together so well. The Fried Chicken Bene and Cali Omelet were what we got and I'd 100% get them again. I would love to try their griddle items next time, tables around us got them and they looked really good.
