Really enjoyed this cool little place. Service was friendly and quick! Drinks were top notch! Thai gimlet was especially good.

Favorite things party based on a novel from the late 50's not completed but you get the idea! The can is adorable.

I love stopping by Straightaway to pick up cans and have a cocktail. They are always so helpful, kind and cheery. I use the adorable cans for gifts and people love them. They don't mess around with the alcohol content in these. You get what you paid for! We go in before every show we attend at Helium Comedy Club it's the perfect place to start your night. The only negative thing I can say is there isn't one closer to me now that Bridgeport is closed

This was a dope experience for NYE 25'! Jody was a wonderful and personable teacher and mixologist.and the history was just as unique as the cocktails! Look forward to another class. :-)

We lucked out coming in to snag the last few available seats. The shop is beautifully designed but on this rainy day, their outdoor seating was closed and indoor seats were limited. Their food menu was limited but tempting. The chips and olives were great. Pro tip: check in with Yelp to get a free sparkling cocktail! Our server was great. It was our first time here so she gave us the run down. Not an open bar. All drinks are premixed. Just pour so you can purchase bottles for home. They make great gifts as well. Sadly, the special flight bottles are reserved for members only. As non members we can only be special in store, not at home. Definitely worth exploring their membership.

What's up: Our next stop on our distillery tour! We just came from whiskey, now we're checking out the cocktails at Straightaway! Parking: Street parking. Environment: The place was cozy and decorated for Christmas! We were welcomed as soon as we entered and the staff were really friendly. They gave us recommendations and even provided a free sample to try out. Everyone in our group found something that they liked and we even grabbed some of their bottles and canned cocktails to go. Restrooms were down the hall, to the right. What was ordered: - Lintik sample - Oregon Old Fashioned - Nitro Espresso Martini - Paper Plane - We grabbed the cans of Nitro Express Martini and a bottle of Paper Plane to go Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. We liked them so much that we came back one more time before we continued our trip...just to grab a couple more cocktails to go lol. This was a friendly place to hang out at and grab a drink. Plus, we were able to finish off our Distillery Row Passport with their help! Credit cards are accepted.

Never been to this place before, but passed by it sometimes on my way home from work and the wife decided that we should do a cocktail making class together and man was that a great choice as that was the first time I've ever done anything like that. Some of the drinks are really strong but very flavorful and have a spicy kick to it but there's one soft fruity one that's a sour and man that go down dangerously smooth, and when I say dangerous, I mean you could drink a lot of those and then it'll hit you later. Great instructor as she is also a vendor for OMSI events and was very helpful and really good at teaching the class. I highly recommend booking a class if you're interested they give you about four drinks and the whole things about two hours and worth of money.

Ordered: -The sampler (Cosmo, Margarita, The Swizzle, Paper Plane, Oregon Old Fashioned) -Food pairings Pro: -Presentation of sampler + food pairings is very aesthetically pleasing -Our favorites were "The Swizzle" and the "Oregon Old Fashioned". These come in a can or bottle to give as gifts which will be perfect for this upcoming Father's day :-) -Everyone working here is so friendly and they are definitely passionate about their cocktails -Outdoor seating!!! In the shade. Perfect for dogs and larger groups since inside seating is limited. Con: -Limited indoor seating if you don't want to sit outside

This review is much delayed. I have visited Straightaway's location on Southeast Hawthorne a few times, all quite a while ago now. But there are times that they pop into my brain, because their aesthetic, their customer service, and their fun flights are so memorable. So I should go back! This little shop is quite small, it could fit maybe 20 to 30 people at one time. Usually, though, when I've been, there is space to sit. There are some shelves for browsing goodies to purchase, and the counter upfront has always been staffed by someone really friendly and helpful. Their taster flights are almost like a tea service. With five samples of alcohol and matching snacks, it feels really fun. I have liked most if not all of the pre-mixed cocktails I have tried from them. I don't drink a lot of cocktails at home, so it's more fun for me to go try samples in the store than to buy a bottle for my house.

The two-hour mixology class is awesome. They feature various themes (we went to the winter themed event). The "classes" are so much fun and structured such that a beginner can understand what's going on and an expert can pick up new tips. The best part is that you get to drink your creations - and the staff ensures they turn out well. Strongly recommend.

The cocktail flight with the snack pairings was the highlight of this place. They have a Aperol spritz option I would like to try next time. I got their speciality cocktail (or something like that. It's the first cocktail flight option). I liked 4/5 cocktail options and enjoyed all the snacks as well. The food is also pretty solid. The brat was nothing spectacular but enjoyable. Same with the potato salad, good but nothing special.

Had some friends visiting for my birthday and we went up to Portland to a couple different tasting spots. This place was one of my favorites! The food pairings were great and the drinks were amazing! We ended up taking some of the canned gin fizzes because they were so tasty! If you are in the area and are looking for something fun to do with a few friends I highly recommend making this one of your stops!

We came on Father's Day with our daughter and she got a strawberry lemonade mocktail with a cute little umbrella. I love coming here, the people here are so nice and accommodating. My drink had a airplane shaped orange rind! They split our food up that we were sharing. Just lots of nice little touches.

Such a wonderful experience! All of the Accompani liquors are fantastic. You can taste and see the care put into each spirit and vermouth. While visiting I also had a jalapeño cheddar Dapper Dog and it was quality. You can't go wrong with any of their aperitifs but do yourself a favor and level up your bar with their sweet vermouth, it will bring your Boulevardier and Manhattans to the next level! If you don't find yourself drinking it all straight before making your cocktails. All staff was beyond helpful and super knowledgeable. 5 stars all the way!

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

We were colonized for over 300 yrs and still deal with the trauma from it. Please consider removing the colonial decor. I really enjoyed the bar and want to enjoy it in the future, but I don't think it's necessary to have those things in the bar and doesn't add anything to how cool the bar is apart from that. UPDATE: the bar messaged me. They were super professional and kind in their response. I really appreciate that they were open to my perspective on the colonial items and said they will be removed.
