First time in Portland drove by so decided to make a stop so happy with my choice the food was so flavorful and the portions are more than generous so so delicious
Very cute and cozy breakfast spot! Love the relaxing color tones inside. The Mont de Cristo was delicious. The french toast was thick and well-battered, the cinnamon taste was very nice. I especially loved the side salad! Those pickled vegetables were refreshing and crunchy. The Spicy Chicken & Waffle was also good. Crispy chicken and cornmeal waffle were a great combo. Their portions were huge. Service was casual and friendly. I'd definitely be open to coming back!
There's a little bit of a wait on weekend but it's not too bad. This place has great service and a friendly staff. There's variety of coffee cocktails which is great for someone like me who enjoys a little kick to his coffee. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles. My fiancé's biscuits and gravy which was delicious as well. Not a thing I can complain about.
We came to The Mont at 1030 on a Wednesday morning and got the last free table before they started a wait list. If that doesn't tell you this place has good food then I don't know what does. The vibes are everything you expect from a Portland restaurant, a little grungy, diner fare but with interesting twists and turns for that elevated Portland experience. I got the Mont De Cristo and was blown away with absolutely perfect french toast. Crispy on the outside, pillowy in the middle and a big cinnamon spice flavor. I would definitely recommend The Mont for anyone looking for a great brunch on the east side.
My partner, his friend and girlfriend and I came here for a little double-date brunch on a Monday around 10am, and it was such a good experience. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it was delicious--crispy on the outside, soft inside, and really satisfying without feeling too heavy. I also got a hot chai, and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal. Perfectly spiced, warm, and comforting. The place had a relaxed vibe for a Monday morning, not too busy but still lively enough to feel cozy. Service was friendly and quick, and we never felt rushed. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a slow, easy brunch!
Love the Mont!! On Belmont, this diner-esque eatery doesn't have a lot of seating, but weekdays are probably your best bet for no waits. All the employees I've interacted with were welcoming and friendly. The menu features egg benedicts, scrambles, and some of their well-knowns - french toast, monte cristo, and breakfast burrito. There are also a few selections for lunch! I got the mont de cristo and it was delicious! Thick challah bread, ham, swiss cheese, with a sunny-side-up egg - it is an elevated breakfast sandwich. I love a sweet-savory combo, and this hit the spot! The breakfast potatoes were crispy and perfectly fried - not too oily or salty. Every time I've been here has been a great experience! The Mont may not be one of the big-name-breakfast-places in Portland, but they are not to be overlooked!!
Nice place for an impromptu breakfast with my dog . Sat in the covered patio which was heated . My "Mont meat " scramble with roasted potatoes was great . Host always filled my coffee AND dog bowl with water . Get here early as this place fills up . This could be my new summer breakfast crush .
The wife wanted a breakfast burrito, and the powers of yelp brought us here! Put our name down and had enough time to grab coffee while we waited. Ended up sitting outside (heaters weren't on/working, unsure) but the sun made it comfortable! The burrito was delicious and my bacon breakfast sandwich was simple but so. good. I will be thinking of it for days to come!

Stopped by The Mont on a Saturday morning. The wait was a little longer than expected, especially since it didn't seem very busy inside. They use a sign-in sheet outside and seat guests first come, first served rather than by party size. They were out of waffles, so I went with the chicken and pancakes instead. The chicken came as cutlets, which was different from what I expected, but they were seasoned really well. It was my first time trying that combo and surprisingly, it worked. Overall, a solid first visit and definitely won't be my last.
So as a Uber and Lyft driver you discover some great eateries in the Portland Vancouver area. I recently dropped off a rider at this restaurant, and they highly recommended it. I finally had a chance to stop for breakfast. They were not wrong. My waiter Sophie was great, very welcoming and friendly. It is a fairly small place, but very cozy. I ordered the Chorizo Benedict with Avocado and Potatoes. It was fantastic. You always have to add avocado to an order!! I will be back. BTW do not park in the lot next to the restaurant, your can may not be there when your done....
What a cute little diner and breakfast spot. Staff was super cool. I ordered the Mont Meat, it was a huge portion and really good. I also loved the VHS videos at the bar playing pretty woman on a TV. The size of an iPad. Felt very vintage in there, loved every second.
My daughter and I went to Mont on SE Belmont St ,for breakfast. Small restaurant, but don't let that discouraged you. Friendly staff and looking at others plates were generous servings. I ordered my favorite sausage biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. My daughter had the breakfast burrito with ham. She took half home. My biscuits were perfectly done, with a slight crunch to them. I also ordered a Bloody Mary, nice. All in I would recommend this place. The staff were wonderful. Food was generous and tasty. Check them out if you can.

We decided to come here due to the positive reviews. We came on a Tuesday around 11am and there was plenty of seating. We were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant was pretty bare with a few movie posters on the wall and music on a bit loud. We ordered bacon, a side of biscuits and gravy and an original eggs Benedict. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The portions are pretty big and looked great. The bacon was great - crisp and big. The biscuits and gravy were also good. The gravy was thick and had nice chunks of ground pork in it. The eggs in the Benedict were done nice but the hollandaise was more tangy (lemon) than creamy. The potatoes were great, crisp on the outside soft in the middle. Unfortunately, no one checked on us throughout our meal as we observed them do with the other tables and we were not asked if we wanted anything else - our bill was just given to us. read more

Great food and a really awesome server. It's a cool little diner and there's pretty much anything you'd want for breakfast/brunch on the menu. The reason for the 4 stars is just that it was extremely painful to get our food on time. It took like at least 45 minutes for mine and my wife's food to arrive, and it wasn't even that busy. But other than that, I'd definitely recommend for the breakfast food. The biscuits were awesome, and I even considered buying a couple to go and would have if the rest of our experience didn't take so long; I was worried if I ordered to go it would take another half hour. read more

If I am ever abducted, I hope this is where I'm held hostage! The portions are huge, the menu has a great variety, there are weekend specials, the seating was comfortable, there is an outside dining area as well, everything was very clean and staff was above and beyond friendly. Service was so fast and incredibly accommodating with helpful suggestions. I ordered the meat scramble with no meat and they offered avocado as a substitute at no extra charge and that was brilliant; I never would've even thought to ask for that. We were never rushed, we were checked on several times and we were allowed to just visit and enjoy each other's company, which is probably a huge perk of going during the week and not the weekend. I can't wait to come back. read more
This brunch spot was unfortunately not worth the super long wait. The food was just okay and a bit overpriced...and this is coming from someone visiting from a HCOL city. $6 for a small serving of store bought OJ? Skip! We made the mistake of coming on the weekend, so we waited 1.5 hours to be seated. After placing our order, we had to wait another full hour before our food even came. Service was so slow that we considered leaving multiple times. Maybe this place is understaffed. Food wasn't bad but also wasn't memorable. I ordered the Española scramble with salad, which was just okay. The scramble was a bit bland though. I also could've easily made this same scramble myself without needing to wait 2.5 hours for it. After this meal, my group and I all agreed that we won't come back. read more

Very cute brunch spot, unfortunately the food wasn't as lovely as the decor. We ordered the classic Benedict, the Mont scramble, biscuits and gravy, and the Mont french toast. The hollandaise on the Benedict was very, very salty. We let the server know when he checked on us and he said he'd pass the message along to the kitchen. There was nothing special about the scramble either. The biscuits and gravy was just okay too, also a little on the salty side. The French toast was good, but it's something I could easily make at home. I enjoyed the coffee and potatoes the most. read more

A small little restaurant, but I can see why it's crowded most of the time... Very delicious food and huge portions for the price you're paying so I highly recommend it. I had the biscuits and gravy and flavorful in the French toast. You get like three slices cut in half and you can get some bacon and eggs on the side. The coffee is delicious. It's everything you want breakfast to be or brunch. I highly recommend coming here because the service is kind and very helpful when choosing the dish that you want stuff down your throat. read more

The only bad thing about this spot is the wait and limited space. The food was amazing. I have to say this is probably one of the best brunch spots I've ever been to. I had the Portland breakfast or the old Portland or whatever it's called . My wife had chicken and waffles. The main thing that I'd like to point out here is the fact that the breading on the chicken was absolutely amazing . You don't find that out here. It was not overseas, but rather seasoned perfectly. Nice and crispy. The potatoes were cooked nicely as well as the eggs and add an abundance of flavor. What is wrong with me? The Mont deserves 4 stars. Why must I be so fussy and nitpick-y? Who knows. In any case, the Benedicts here are damn good, as confirmed by a friend who's ordered them the last 3 times we were here. And the Breakfast Salad I had recently? Awesome. Huge. Crazy stupid healthy. So yea, the Mont is on my regular breakfast rotation --good service, really good food, but just so-so ambiance. Am I overweighting the ambiance thing,...yea probably but it's important to me and The Mont is generic at best, with an almost bland interior with cafeteria type tables. There is a lovely - if compact - patio out back so maybe that's better, but.....I dunno. It's not you, The Mont - it's me. You're doing everything just fine. Maybe fix the really crappy parking situation but other than that...it's all good. read more

This is such a cute little brunch place. I sat on the patio because the weather was really nice and the patio was cute. I got the espanola scramble with a biscuit and gravy on the side and it was delicious, the scramble not so much the biscuit and gravy. It wasn't bad in fact the biscuits was very big and tasty but the gravy was a little bland to me. The scramble itself was very tasty the chorizo had a little kick and of course I added hot sauce. The potatoes were delicious and crispy as well, it's so hard getting the perfect level of crispy but soft breakfast potatoes but I'd say these were perfect. I got the berry lemonade which was really tasty and refreshing. Service was quick and very nice. Overall no complaints. Now I went on a Friday morning and it wasn't too packed but this place is kind of small so I can imagine it getting busy in the weekends. read more

A great neighborhood breakfast or brunch spot. The service is super friendly and there are lots of options to choose from. We sat on the back deck on a lovely spring morning. Waitress was so attentive and engaging! The mimosa was light on the orange juice w/o asking !! Perfect! we got chicken and waffles and the spicy chicken and French toast and ughhh it was so flavorful. The breading falls off easily but no problem just pick it up and eat it, so crunchy!!! definitely a must visit whenever we're in town! We had to wait about an hour for food , but that is pretty normal. The food was excellent. Two friends split a breakfast burrito, one had a Mediterranean scramble, and I had the veggie benedict. All meals were cooked jusy right. The server was kind as well. read more
