Korean Pork Shoulder & Lardo Fries
    Natalie H.

Finally tried Lardo for the first time (it's been on my list for a while) and it was delicious!! I got the Korean Pork Shoulder and loved the combination of flavors. It was a little messy to eat with the sauce and kimchi, but it was so worth it. I also enjoyed the fries with the herbs! I definitely will be coming back and look forward to exploring more of the menu!

It had been sometime since we'd last been in the PDX but worked called me here for a week so top of the must eat list is Lardo and it didn't disappoint nor did the consistency of the food change. Love it! I decided to try something new which was the St. Patty Melt which consisted of a smash burger, grilled corned beef, cheddar and American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and Russsian dressing all nestled in Texas Toast. It was awesome! Of course you can't come here without getting the Dirty Fries - nothing dirty about them - a pile of fresh cut fries, marinated peppers, pork belly scraps, fried herbs and topped with parm. Window surround the dining area with tables and bench seating plus outdoor tables too. The service was great as always and can't wait to go back again very soon!

I ordered the chefwich and fries here, not a huge hit for me. I wish the fries were crispy and had more flavor. The vodka sandwich lacked a lot of flavor unfortunately, i wouldn't go back.

Excellent sandwich ship. Got the Bahn mi. It's a unique take on Bahn mi but very delicious. Highly recommend.

Lardo never disappoints. If you're craving a seriously good sandwich, this is the spot. The menu is creative without being pretentious -- everything feels indulgent and perfectly balanced. The pork belly sandwich is a classic (crispy, tender, and dripping with flavor), and the Korean pork shoulder is another favorite. The dirty fries with herbs, parmesan, and bits of pork cracklings are an absolute must. The staff is always friendly and quick, even when the place is packed. The vibe here is casual and fun -- Portland through and through, with good music, local beers on tap, and a relaxed patio that's perfect for sunny days. Prices are fair for the quality, and the portions are huge, so you definitely get your money's worth. If you love bold flavors and comfort food done right, Lardo delivers every time. Great food, great energy, and one of Portland's best casual eats. And definitely grab a pickle!!!!

Cam in as a result of a coupon to try Laredo sandwiches. We have now come back and ordered again as a result of the delicious sandwiches. I tried the barn mi sandwich, the pork belly was good, the pickled veggies crisp and tangy. Done just right. Pickles out of the jar on the counter! Don't miss getting one. Nice and crisp! Love the crunch. Clean store. Staff was friendly. I'll continue to come back.

Found out it's Burger Week (8/11-8/17) while visiting Portland. $10 steal for a juicy burger! We found Lardo on Yelp and there $10 was a pork and bacon smash patty with grilled peaches and dirty mustard. We ordered 1 special, "PBLT" pork belly lettuce tomato, kumer beef burger, falafel burger, lardo fries, tator fries Cacio de Pepe, watermelon cucumber salad. We learned that Lardo specializes in pork (big picture of pig on wall) The pork burgers were juicy and cooked well. I really enjoyed the sweetness of the peaches with the tanginess of the mustard on my pork patty. The stand-outs were the tots (so addictive) and watermelon salad - cool melon with heat was a refreshing on a hot day. Order at the counter, grab a number and drinks and find a table. Refillable Ice tea & sodas. Beer on tap & bottled The patio looked lush and inviting (seems the choice for locals) but we opted for the long table with stools inside with AC!!

July 2025 Chefwich as a Bowl

Very very happy with month Chefwich on a half salad half fries. A hack that didn't know until today that you can do with all their sandwiches (except the Cubano) and I loved it! Super generous portion. I really didn't have to finish the bowl but I did. All the ingredients were so fresh and went very well together. The braised beef from the Chefwich sandwich was so tender and paired with gooey cheese and house giardena it's divine. Filling but soso good. The fries were also very crispy and fresh. The Pandan Thank You Maam was a delicious cocktail. Pineapple forward and lost the pandan a but but overall refreshing.

Ya gotta stop if there's a sweet parking spot right in front. I read about the April Chefwich "chicken fried steak" special. The Sugarpine collaboration is one of their best, so good. What made it was the thin Oyatsupan Bakery bun. A minor drawback is you really need to bite into it or else the steak slides out. It paired well with the Pandan Thank You Ma'am cocktail. I returned for the Rhinestone Breakfast Burrito the following day. Maybe consider changing the name considering the restaurant opens at 11 AM. It's got the oooh -ahhh factor and price to boot. Suggestion: reduce the size of the tender pork belly pieces. Service was great as usual. Lardo is one of Portland's best offerings.

Always a solid experience when I come here. This visit we had the Bronx Bomber, fries, and Korean pork shoulder over a salad. The food is well prepared and delicious.

Good food and kind service - I'd be open to coming again. The fries were good and crispy. The Korean pork shoulder was packed with flavor but a little salty - could have pumped the brakes on all of its flavors slightly. The mortadella was rich and tender but overall as a sandwich not my favorite. Good bread. I liked the laidback vibes of the place, but the food does take a while to come out.

Rich Gencarelli has both saved my day and infuriated me more times than I care to mention. Since my family moved out here from Jersey, I've been routinely redirected to Lardo for all of my sandwich grievances. When a sausage or meatball sandwich on any quality proves too difficult to find, I come here for the specials. When I need a staple sandwich, I drop in for a Korean Pork Shoulder or Italian Tuna Melt. However, when I want to point to an example of how mayonnaise leeches into the skin of residents here like the rain... I go to Lardo as well. I want to love The Bronx Bomber for shredding the lettuce and topping the salami and provolone with steak of all things... but then in comes that Duke's mayo. Listen, I get that you aren't going to keep like six bottles of oil, vinegar, and balsamic back there, but why every sandwich needs to be turned into a hoedown or a fish fry to soothe these 'medigan palates is beyond me. But this is where I love Rich: The man does not discriminate. The meatball banh mi?! Yeah, that shit's getting some mayo. A cubano?! Mayo that fucker right up. Kimchi and pork shoulder? Hell yeah, mayo! Nashville Hot Fried Chicken?! MAYO! Just about every culture gets the same schmear, and I can't wait for the day when he tries it on some birriaqueso. Rich has been in such deep Donnie Braso-style Portland cover for so long that it would take a mountain-bike mishap of epic proportions in the cycle tracks of the Gorge to get him to view things through a more provincial lens, and the city's better off for it. He's tried the West Side, he's tried Lake O, he's tried Vegas, but it all lands best on Hawthorne, and it lands with an audience he loves. That he offered beer discounts for the Frog Brigade at a time when the city's on edge and people on on the front line trying to protect their neighbors' basic right to due process only makes me appreciate this place all the more. There's a reason people keep coming even with two food cart pods directly across the street: Lardo's had their back for a while and continues to be a lesson in consistency.

    Delicious!

Recently stopped by at this AMAZING well known place in SE Portland. I tried their Korean Pork Shoulder house with homemade house kimchi, chili mayo, cilantro, lime... and much goodness. I was on the mood for a good cider and it was recommended to me the black cherry one and OMG! It was super delicious. Also tried their TAMARINDO (tamarind) cocktail made with Tequila infused with Serrano pepper and WOW! I must say this is one the best refreshing cocktail I've ever had you have to tried it! Even if you have come to this place often enough you won't get disappointed at all. If the weather is decent the outside sitting areas is outstanding! Service on point as well! Keep on searching :))

Great service and delicious food! Visited while in Oregon with my sister, who recommended this…read moreplace, and we even had the chance to chat with the owner, which made the experience even better. They're open on Mondays, which is rare since many restaurants are closed, so it was nice to try it before leaving. My sister ordered the spaghetti and cheese with two large meatballs, garlic bread, and the Chicago beef with Italian sausage, and both were great. The meatballs were especially delicious. I just wish more were included, though extras are available to order. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sandwich which was very cheesey and flavorful. Afterward, we noticed you can add pepperoni and make it a "Chicken Parmeroni," which sounds like a better option. The large antipasta salad with balsamic vinegar was fresh and tasty, and it's nice that you can choose your dressing . I really love the antipasta salad! Overall, a really enjoyable meal and definitely worth recommending! Wish there had been time to try more of the menu.

Let me start by saying I didn't take pictures. For anyone who reads my reviews, that's a big part…read moreof them: ALL THE PICTURES. Presentation, portions, half eaten, etc... but I didn't. Because the food was so damn good. Look - I'm going to start off by saying I grew up practically on The Hill. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!
