I have been wanting to check this place out for over a year or two? Anyhow, I ordered the Park Kitchen, their Steak with Blue Cheese Aioli, Smoked Ham breakfast sandwich, a side of Pesto (seasonal) Pasta. They were all very good! However, the Park Kitchen sandwich I had a strong garlic-like after taste. Even though it was good, at $17 I think will not get it again. The pasta was good deal for only $3! The Smoked Ham breakfast sandwich, with egg, was the star of the show! The Guyere cheese was perfect with the smoked ham and the star of it all, was the house made bread that it came in! I've been a customer since they opened their doors. Portland has some excellent sandwich options, but this is my favorite. The Smoked Ham with Gruyere and egg is my go to, that soft bun makes it. Today I tried the Sausage Marinara for the first time and was very satisfied. The roll is crunchy delicious and the links are easy to bite into. And the potato salad makes for a good compliment, good value too. While they offer many condiment choices, I can't say I'm fond of any. It's kind of a perfect sandwich. There is a certain equation of friction that has to be directly proportional to the chewiness of the bread. When I took my first bite I was a little shocked at the non uniformity of all the ingredients. This bothered me at first but when you realize the frictional component of mixing the greens and the cut up meat it's genius. The bread is toothsome and chewy. No shortage of flavor. The blue cheese and vinaigrette just pops. Lots of greens too and the onions just round out the flavors. My search for a perfect post-nightshift breakfast spot is over. They open at 7 AM which is perfect for me to place and order and grab it on the way home. The order was ready when they said it would be. The team is still taking COVID seriously, which as a nurse, I appreciate greatly. Employees are masked and they still have a plastic screen up and hand sanitizer, and sanitized pens. They bring the order out to you when ready. I wanted to eat them as soon as I got into the car. They smelled amazing and my mouth was watering the entire drive home. I ate the Steak & Egg. I've lived near this place for many years and only recently decided to stroll in and check it out. After a long night shift, a nice breakfast sandwich sounded really tempting. I stopped in and got the Steak & Egg sandwich and my God, I was not prepared for how good it was. The bun was so soft and the inside was perfectly toasted for a nice crunch, the steak was soft and juicy and nice and beefy (could taste that it was good quality beef), the egg was perfectly yolks and jammy, and the blue cheese dressing was out of this world, with generous crumbles of actual blue cheese in the sandwich. It was a mess to eat and the egg and blue cheese got all over my hands but I literally wolfed the thing down in 2 minutes it was that good. One of the cooks brought me out a free sample of a cucumber soup while I was eating and holy crap, not only did they give me a large portion but it was one of the best damn cold soups I've ever had in my life. The chewy ciabatta bread was wonderful, the pork was well seasoned, but the cheese spread overpowered the meat. It wasn't a balance that I would want again.
