Delicious, unusual flavors! Friendly staff and quick service. Would definitely eat here again! I picked up to-go and it was super easy.

So good. This place is a masterclass in the freshest ingredients done with elegant simplicity. Everything is thoughtful and so well done. Their menu seems simple but everything we have had has been great. A small indoor space but they also have outdoor seating. The staff is always kind and helpful it's like doing to a neighborhood deli you've been visiting your whole life. Nothing pretentious about it, just quality ingredients done right. Their sammys are made with house-baked bread...so good. I have heard the breakfast burritos is good but I can't tear myself away from that ham and cheese with egg on a perfectly fresh, pillowy bun. Give it a try if you're in the mood for something fresh and not too heavy. Also they have a great hot sauce selection. read more

Ordered the Park Kitchen (flank steak, pickled onions, herbs, blue cheese mayo, lettuce and vinaigrette). Good enough sandwich, though mainly a tasty salad on a very soft bun. Blue cheese and mayo a real plus. Not much meat, and likely not something I'd order again. Disappointed since I'd heard some very good things about the sandwich shop and liked it laid-back genuine Portland ambiance. Still, four stars here. Like to support local shops like Meat Cheese Bread. read more

I have been wanting to check this place out for over a year or two? Anyhow, I ordered the Park Kitchen, their Steak with Blue Cheese Aioli, Smoked Ham breakfast sandwich, a side of Pesto (seasonal) Pasta. They were all very good! However, the Park Kitchen sandwich I had a strong garlic-like after taste. Even though it was good, at $17 I think will not get it again. The pasta was good deal for only $3! The Smoked Ham breakfast sandwich, with egg, was the star of the show! The Guyere cheese was perfect with the smoked ham and the star of it all, was the house made bread that it came in! I will definitely be back for this one and a side of Pasta! read more

Have heard of this place since they opened, so thanks to Tony for the opportunity. Had the pulled pork, a big heap of it, quality meat, not much (if any) seasoning. the red peppers plentiful and tasty. The pub cheese minimal and the roll a little soft. Friendly service. Small place, friendly Portlandy atmosphere. Okay price. And I didn't know a paper napkin could be so non-absorbent. read more

They live up to their name! Came by to try their sliced beef breakfast sandwich and it was very good! Order at the counter and they'll call your name. It's not fast food so you have to be a little patient but it's worth it. They have tables outside which we got to enjoy on a sunny weekend day. I'll definitely be back for more. read more

It's been a minute since I've been back here. I'm glad that I came back though. The place is still the same as I remembered it to be, nice and cozy. I ordered their special for the sandwich week - bacon and beef sloppy joe. I've have not had a sloppy joe since elementary school. This version was much better as it was flavorful and leaving me satisfied. The place still does counter service with limited seating inside and some seats outside. read more

I've been a customer since they opened their doors. Portland has some excellent sandwich options, but this is my favorite. The Smoked Ham with Gruyere and egg is my go to, that soft bun makes it. Today I tried the Sausage Marinara for the first time and was very satisfied. The roll is crunchy delicious and the links are easy to bite into. And the potato salad makes for a good compliment, good value too. While they offer many condiment choices, I can't say I'm fond of any. Service is usually pleasant with a reasonable wait time. read more

First time trying this place. Not a lot of ambiance, it's clear they put all their effort into making delicious and inventive but not gimmicky gourmet af sandwiches. Would definitely come back especially on a nice day and sit outside. read more

We wanted to love Meat, Cheese, Bread, but after trying two different breakfast items - the breakfast burrito and a breakfast sandwich with fennel, breakfast sausage and bread made from bread pudding (all items I typically love) I sadly have to say the food was flavorless and the sandwich was barely edible due to almost zero flavor and strange breakfast combos. This was also the only place during our time in Portland that had less than great coffee. We wanted to love it, but this place was a miss read more

Still the best sandwich shop in Portland, especially for breakfast. They take call in orders too so you don't have to wait.

Good sandwich, not enough cheese on them though. Couldn't really taste or find the Brie in my Ham and Brie sandwich, but it was still good tasting if you like Ham! I would recommend ordering ahead of you are hungry or in any hurry. It did take about 30 + min for them to make our 2 sandwiches because they seem to get a lot of online orders, which is great for them but definitely makes the in dining experience slower. read more

I ordered the BLB and thought it was tasty, just a little too heavy for me personally. It was a little too much mayo for my taste so it was too rich for me so I needed a bit of hot sauce to cut through it. The sourdough bread was beautifully toasted though and I liked the beets in this. I'd definitely come back to try their other sandwiches and breakfast burrito. I came in between two rushes so I was able to get a table indoors, there were people consistently coming to pick up orders and a few outdoor tables too. Parking was no issue and service was good! read more

Looking for a good deli to grab a sandwich for your flight? We found this place (on Yelp ... thanks!) early one morning when leaving downtown Portland on our way to the airport. They have robust breakfast options but we were looking for sandwiches to take on the plane and man were they large and tasty! Fellow travelers commented on our sandwiches while they were eating the day old sandwiches from the airport kiosks. Service was very friendly. The dining area is small but sufficient for grab-and-go or to sit and enjoy your meal. read more

My husband and I love this place. Tiny shop but we can usually find a place to sit. It smells great, they're always playing good music, just a great place to be in general. The food is fresh and obviously high quality. They seem to have a core menu with a few rotating items and we have enjoyed everything we've ordered. Would highly recommend! read more

EXCELLENT sandwiches. They really seem to care about ingredients, and all are top quality. It's a small place, and expect to wait a bit for your order, but there are tables/chairs outside to eat/wait. So far I've had the BLT and turkey sandwiches, and both are delicious. read more

I was torn between a four and a five. I enjoyed the sandwich immensely. I'd order it again. I'd love to try the other things. Do I have suggestions for improvement. Yes. I got the park kitchen. It's kind of a perfect sandwich. There is a certain equation of friction that has to be directly proportional to the chewiness of the bread. When I took my first bite I was a little shocked at the non uniformity of all the ingredients. This bothered me at first but when you realize the frictional component of mixing the greens and the cut up meat it's genius. The bread is toothsome and chewy. No shortage of flavor. The blue cheese and vinaigrette just pops. Lots of greens too and the onions just round out the flavors. Some hiccups in the service and the price is a little steep but I'd definitely return to try more things. read more

My search for a perfect post-nightshift breakfast spot is over. They open at 7 AM which is perfect for me to place and order and grab it on the way home. The order was ready when they said it would be. The team is still taking COVID seriously, which as a nurse, I appreciate greatly. Employees are masked and they still have a plastic screen up and hand sanitizer, and sanitized pens. They bring the order out to you when ready. Service was friendly one the phone when I ordered and in-person. I ordered the Steak & Egg and the Smoked Ham (added an egg) Breakfast Sandwiches to-go. I wanted to eat them as soon as I got into the car. They smelled amazing and my mouth was watering the entire drive home. I ate the Steak & Egg. There was so much flavor packed into this sandwich-the steak, aioli, blue cheese, and buns were all tasty. It's clear they are attentive to the detail in each component. The hubby didn't eat his sandwich right away, but even hours later the sandwich was "really good." I'll definitely be going back to try the rest of their breakfast fare. read more

I've lived near this place for many years and only recently decided to stroll in and check it out. After a long night shift, a nice breakfast sandwich sounded really tempting. I stopped in and got the Steak & Egg sandwich and my God, I was not prepared for how good it was. The bun was so soft and the inside was perfectly toasted for a nice crunch, the steak was soft and juicy and nice and beefy (could taste that it was good quality beef), the egg was perfectly yolks and jammy, and the blue cheese dressing was out of this world, with generous crumbles of actual blue cheese in the sandwich. It was a mess to eat and the egg and blue cheese got all over my hands but I literally wolfed the thing down in 2 minutes it was that good. One of the cooks brought me out a free sample of a cucumber soup while I was eating and holy crap, not only did they give me a large portion but it was one of the best damn cold soups I've ever had in my life. The vibe inside is super casual and there's a good amount of seating to enjoy your sandwich. Absolutely love this place. read more

If you enjoy waiting for 25 minutes for a basic sandwich and salad this is your spot. I don't understand the slow service when only a few customers are here. Call ahead seems to be the key. I've been here a couple times now and I have to say their sandwiches are pretty good and unique, but the service is just not there.
