Went to Portland for a couple of days to celebrate my birthday. It was short trip so we had to pack it with places to eat at. One small thing I miss is a good deli sandwich. On a roll, a sourdough roll is even better. I had the Miracle Legion: Deli Slices, Pepperoni, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pepperoncini, Italian Seasoning, and Oil/Vinegar on top which brought it all together. (I asked for Mustard on the side). and The Classic: Deli Slices, Cheese, Garlic & Dill Mayo, Mustard, Tomato, Pickles, Red Onion, Lettuce, and S&P. Pasta salad and Chips. I love that this place is 100% Vegan. Makes life easier and even if there was a mistake made, it wouldn't make me cry! LOL! The service here is great and everyone is super friendly! It's a cute, quiet and very clean place but the weather was too beautiful to not sit outside. We really enjoyed our meal. We love how quiet the neighborhood is. It makes me so happy whenever I see a new vegan shop in town! One where they don't just have a handful of options mixed in with gluten-free dry-tasting nothing and an endless array of meat options to make you feel like you're still living in the 90s listening to Aerosmith. ;) So, the fact that this is a sub shop? Tucked away in a cool little part of town? With friendly service... who clearly takes pride in what they do?! Loved it the moment I walked in and saw all the great, vegan options (and no line). ;) I had the classic (I think that's what it's called) and a ginger ale and it did not disappoint! From the chill ambiance, to the quality vegan meats I'd go there 7 days a week if I could. But for now, I may have to settle for going at least 1-2. read more

I've been to Rad Magic Subs three times, and each time was better than the last time! It's 100% vegan! Such a quaint little restaurant. The staff is friendly and really make you feel at home! The first time I stopped in, I got the Cran Deluxe sub, it was super tasty! The next time I stopped in during World Vegan Month and got the special Honey Pear Sub that benefited One Tail At A Time. The 3rd time, I had stopped at Best Friends Cafe next door to pick up my pumpkin pie order. I couldn't just stop in the neighborhood without stopping in for a bite at Rad Magic Subs..boy am I sure glad that I did! I got a Loaded Potato soup, and it was glorious! I got a side of bread and this hit the spot! I don't live very close, but I sure will make the drive for that soup! Actually, I would love to try other menu items out! I wanted to love this place. Felt good to support the LGBTQ community.. I just was not impressed by it.. we have breakfast sandwich with the hashbrowns and also their potato soup. Let's be honest the potato soup was just little watered down mashed potatoes. I split both with my partner, he found it weird there was arugula and horseradish sauce in this sandwich. The deli meats are all Tofurky branded or field roast. I think that's why we stuck to breakfast sandwich with like a scramble. read more

The subs come on a lovely French roll baked fresh daily from An Xuyên bakery. *Gluten free options are available for select sandwiches which are specified on the menu! Tonight I ordered the Wedgewich - inspired by the Wedge Salad, it is full of flavor and crunchy goodness from the iceberg lettuce wedges and the bacon and blue cheese dressing. This salad in vegan sub form is excellent. My husband ordered the Miracle Legion sub - filled with hickory smoked deli slices, pepperoni, oil and vinegar and Italian seasoning. Not a great sub. Got the Cran Deluxe. It was mostly lettuce. The cream cheese was pretty non existent. One layer of deli slice. It needed more of the cran/pomegranate spread. The fried onions aren't a good flavor complement. To add crunch, it would be better to use toasted walnuts or pecans. Overall, a pretty dry sandwich. The bread was good. OMG such yummy and filling sandwiches! I had the tofu two ways (egg salad inspired) which smelled and tasted amazing. Piled high with seasoned tofu and veggies. My friend got a cup of tomato basil soup and said it was better than anything he's ever had. So tasty we couldn't pause to take photos. Also indulged in "bacon" wrapped dates with a hot hunny sauce which were almost overwhelmingly flavorful. Two each was plenty! A fun treat. read more

HOLY SH!T best god damn sandwich I have ever had. Which one? All of them. I have gone nearly twice a month for the last three months to try a new sandwich and I have no had them all and I have not a single complaint. The bread is so fresh and soft but sturdy enough to hold the goods in. Juicy, amazing flavors and 100% vegan!!! Absolutely amazing. As a vegetarian, it's really nice to have a place where the whole menu is open to me instead of just one item in the corner. Considering their sandwiches are already on the pricy side, I have to say, their upcharge policy needs a rethink - mayo, olives, mustard, and pickles are $1 each?? (although some of the sandwiches do include some of these items) But there are two things that matter much more than anything else: Did they get my order right, and did it taste good? The answer is yes and YES! The sandwiches are hearty with lots of veggies, the "meat" and "cheese" taste good, qnd the sandwich was tangy and saucy. I would definitely go here again. read more
