Came for a quick drink with a friend and was blown away by the incredible views! Service was a bit slow but our bartender was great.

We just went for drinks and a dessert. The view of course was a 5. The ambience inside was very upscale. Not sure I'd give it a 5 for the Ritz standard, but very nice. The greeting in the lobby was insane with greeting and history at a level 5 of being wowed with a luxury experience. The bartenders were fine, but not 5s. It felt like a bar experience at a 3-star. The drinks were delicious. We got the chocolate taco which was fine, but nothing too special. The s'more experience was very fun and worth it as a 5-star unique experience. Overall I'd give it a 4.

Anything at the The Ritz-Carlton is usually amazing, and this experience was no exception. Exceptional service from start to finish--our server was completely on point and attentive without being overbearing. Nothing to complain about at all. The décor is modern and elegant, and the view of Mt. Hood is absolutely beautiful. The standout of the meal was the crab Benedict--hands down the best poached eggs I've had anywhere. Perfectly cooked, rich, and memorable. An amazing experience all around.

Date: Saturday, March 1, 2025 Time: around 2pm Party of: 3 *Baller ($28) *Black Garlic Fries ($15) *Dalwhinne 15 ($28) *Red Breast 12 ($25) After lunch, a drink was in order. I love bars with a view, so we decided to check out Bellpine. We arrived without any kind of reservation, but it wasn't busy at all, so we easily got a table by the window. In fact, I think we were the only ones here as only a small section was open. It's located in the Ritz so of course it's swanky. Plush seating along the walls. Big windows so you can enjoy the view. Lives up to its location. I decided to try the BALLER - Roku Gin | Izarra Vert Basque Liqueur | Yuzu Lemon | Egg White | Cream I Green Tea Mochi I Midori Yuzu Lime Soda | Gold Leaf. I was in the mood for something lighter and this hit the spot. And it was also sooo pretty! The boys ended up getting straight pours of whiskey / scotch. Each pour was 1.5 oz according to the menu. Drinks are pricey, but I'd definitely recommend coming by for one round if you enjoy nice views and cocktails. REVIEW #3726

Very happy with this brunch choice.

Let's not review prices: it's a downtown hotel, it's the Ritz Carlton. Are you expecting value? That said, I was very pleased with the brunch salad. I topped it with a very generous portion of salmon, which was full of flavor. The brunch Chilaquiles more than satisfied. The omelette, well, nothing special. Service was excellent. The view: of course it was superb as that's what you pay for.

    Such a pretty view

I had afternoon tea at Bellpine and it was quite nice! The view was gorgeous. We came on the perfect fall day. The tea itself was delicious. The tea sandwiches were also very cute and tasty. Some of the bread was quite dry and I found the cranberry mustard super overpowering. But it was a lovely assortment of sweet and savory bites! The little desserts were light and not overly sweet. Between the two of us, we were pretty full! Our waiter, Sebastian, was so lovely and sweet. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

First off I'm so sorry to my server but she was beautiful woman with curly blonde hair who worked Christmas evening, I'm saying this because she serves to know she is the best server I have had in a while. I actually stopped going to restaurants that are of this ambiance because I recently had a baby and we know they can be unpredictable but even my daughter was like this place is vibe! Haha. The open kitchen where you watch the chef and his staff prepare each tables selection is so entertaining. The view of Portland from the 20th floor of the ritz Carlton is probably the best view in Portland. We order the rack of lamb well done. It was perfect. It still retained its moisture even with my desire temperature. We also ordered the sliders with lobster. I wish we had ordered 3 more orders. That was the best burger. It was a tale of two worlds. Beef vs Lobster and it was a hell of a match. A match made in heaven. We also ordered the scallops. My daughter received salmon. Overall it was so good that I stopped eating after the first serving. I was stuffed as a tick on a hogs ass. Amazing. Spectacular. Award winning Portland food.

I wasn't impressed at all with the food at this Ritz. We did room service the night before because we were told this restaurant was fully booked on Saturday night. Both entrees we chose were on the dinner menu here: the tagliatelle and salmon. Both were not as described and bland. My salmon was gross. For breakfast we came to the restaurant and the views are lovely, tableware beautiful, and service was excellent. Our eggs, potato, toast and chicken sausage were not good. My scrambled eggs were bland and flavorless and tasted like powdered, the chicken sausage was so overcooked it was not even edible. I had three links and ate one of them the other two were hard and dry. The toast was ok. Our yogurt parfait with berry coulis and granola was good. The granola was very good. My earl grey was also good. For the prices and the bland and flavorless and low quality food, I would not recommend this restaurant at all.

the dining room reminded me of the underside of a mushroom

We celebrated fancy for our two year anniversary dinner. We ordered the Chef's Tasting menu for $120 pp (7 courses). The drinks are insanely priced here (my mocktail was $20, ouch!) but the menu was inventive & overall we had a very lovely time What we got: Albacore & Wagyu Beef Tartare // Black Garlic, Bone Marrow, Yuzu Let's Go Nut's // Lyre's Sugar Cane, Dhos Bitter Sweet Lime, Orgeat, Heavy Cream, Coconut Crab Berliner // Dungeness Crab, Yuzu Kosho, Scallion Curtido Baby Romaine Salad // Black Garlic Caesar Dressing, Peppers, Croutons, Pecorino Tempura Pumpkin Spice "Donut" // Black Garlic, Roasted Garlic Aioli, Crispy Onions, Lemon Gel ‍ Last McCall // Novo Fogo Silver Cachaça, Papaya Syrup, Lime Juice, PDX Bitters Project Bellpine Divine, Thai Basil Blossom Scallops // Mango, Wonton Crisp, Hazelnuts Beef Tataki & Walla Walla Onions // Filet Mignon, Walla Walla Onions, Teriyaki Sauce Dessert play on Eggs & Bacon // incredible, must try, 5 stars, have no idea what was in it, wow wow wow, would order again ‍ The dining room is giving ~*under a mushroom*~

Been here several times already and I loved the weekend brunch and November afternoon tea. The bagel lox is big enough to share and comes with a rose cream cheese that is just so delicious with all the trimmings and smoked salmon. Came back again and had a froster banana French toast that was perfection. Never really had a bad weekend brunch here. The afternoon tea was really good too! Serving high quality savory and sweet bites that are to die for. I picked the Special Rose Tea that is made for this particular Ritz Carlton to represent the city of roses. Goes perfectly with this tea service. The scones were served with mascarpone, fresh jam, and lemon curd. There was so much food on this high tea, we took half of the desserts home. Can't wait to come back again.

A ROOM WITH A VIEW Sashay through the lobby of the Ritz Carlton, and take the elevator to Bellpine if you want to dine with a view. We came here for a weekday lunch and had our choice of great tables that let us survey downtown Portland. Since all three of us felt like having a drink to celebrate our "sisters reunion," we order the local 2023 Abbey Road Farms Gamay Rose for $56. It was light and enjoyable. The lunch menu is rather limited. My sister and I both selected the Prime Rib Burger ($24), which comes with fries or a green salad. The tasty burger was cooked perfectly and topped with a melange of flavors - aged cheddar cheese, maple bacon, red onion, house ketchup and aioli. We both chose the fries, which were nice and crispy. My sister-in-law went rogue and opted for the corn and asparagus tagliatelle ($25). She thought the taliatelle with green asparagus, hazlenut, roasted corn puree and parmesan was okay, but we could tell she envied our dishes. We didn't really come here for the food. We came for the experience. Dining atop Portland in this relatively new hotel is fun and different. After our meal, we checked out one of the balconies, which can give you a fear of heights. If you're downtown, Bellpine is a good choice.

I have to be honest that despite the bad reviews I came here for the views. I wanted to grab a few drinks before dinner and this seemed like a place worth trying for a special occasion. We were greeted and seated instantly and also got a sweet view . The staff was kind and efficient . The food and drinks were alright, but my gripe is with the prices. I understand it's the Ritz and I agree that such places charge exorbitant prices for average stuff . But do I have to like it ? No . I love going to a lot of High-end places and know when I am getting a good experience . I don't expect value for my money at a place like Bell Pine, for that I can go to plenty of awesome restaurants in the city . You come to a swanky place to get a top-notch experience and this wasn't it .

I ate here for dinner and lunch. The restaurant was empty both meals . Wine and drinks were good. The food was not. I had the crab donuts. First the flavors did not mesh well. Sugar/cinnamon and crab , no. The donut was so hard to chew it sent the crab out the sides so was practically eaten separately. The halibut was dry and flavorless. The vegetables were way too crunchy, pretty much raw and flavorless. The Brussels sprouts sounded so good and were chewy and undercooked. I went out to the street for food all the other days ...eat street food so much better!!! The views were amazing of course and that building was beautiful but man the food was a disappointment for 175$

    What's the Dress code?

On Open Table, it says "Business Casual." In Portland, that covers a wide range of attire. If you'd wear it in an office, it will be fine at Bellpine.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

We came to Teardrop Cocktail Lounge while visiting Portland and were genuinely impressed…read more The cocktails were excellent -- thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
