I was excited to try out this Thai coffee shop and I really wanted to try all of the Thai menu items! I ended up with the Soft Thai Tea From their new soft cream series. When it first came out, it looked like it was just whipped cream, but once I tasted it, it was so much more. I liked how it added extra creaminess to the strong Thai tea. I was really happy with that drink, but my rating is a little bit lower because of the mango drink that we had. If you are a cold brew or americano fan, then the Mango Drip is probably the one for you, but it was just way too bitter for me and the artificial mango didn't really add much. I always love seeing mango drinks on a coffee menu, but unfortunately, this one just didn't work for me. The interior is really nicely decorated and feels very much like you walked into a café in Bangkok. Despite not liking one of the drinks, I'd still recommend checking this place out because there is such a great variety on the menu that you are bound to find the one for you.
Kaleido is located in a really nice area and the whole place has a very clean modern aesthetic. The orange accents and overall presentation make the shop stand out right away. Drinks looked great and the atmosphere felt bright and welcoming. Customer service was good and the drinks came out nicely presented. We tried the matcha drinks and enjoyed them refreshing, smooth, and visually appealing. Definitely a nice spot to stop by if you're in the area and looking for a good drink in a cool environment.
Came back for their bestseller Thai classic the es-yen and it was soooooo good. The vibes of the space and the service again were awesome. I love this spot when I'm in the area and will always make the effort to swing by when I'm craving a yummy coffee :)
first time at kaleido! I've heard positive reviews before. I ordered the signature drink: es-yen w/ oatmilk, which was a thai-style iced espresso, with sweetness. I really enjoyed the latte and can't wait to try new flavors. Great place to work from too. Very clean and neat inside. Great

Kaleido Coffee offers a lovely workspace and they are serving up delicious drinks with unique combinations that you cannot find elsewhere in the PDX area. I've tried their mango drip coffee, coconut matcha cloudie, Thai lime tea, and the Es-Yen coffee iced- all of which have been delectable. The Thai lime tea is refreshing and offers the signature taste of Thai tea, dairy free! The Es-Yen coffee is strong and not too sweet, a perfect combination of the coffee flavor and is paired extremely well with the condensed milk. Not too much of a tea or coffee person? I would go for the coconut matcha cloud drink! The matcha foam is perfectly bitter and creamy and combines beautifully with the flavors of the coconut water they use. I highly recommend coming to Kaleido Coffee for your coffee fix! Wonderful baristas, good vibes, and good drinks. Only downside: paid street parking :)
Tldr interior is cute, service is kind, and hours are great especially for a coffee or matcha early on the weekends! Kaleido coffee had been on my list for LITERAL weeks before I had a chance to swing by before work on a Saturday morning. I will say I was the first human through the door at 7:05 am and it looked like some of the setup was still happening, but nothing to fret about. The timing also worked out amazingly well in terms of the street parking cause I was able to get a spot immediately out front. Drinkwise, I got 3 of the es-yen and 1 of the matcha mango latte. Can confirm the es-yen was great! Actually not too sweet with a great coffee flavor. My colleague mentioned that the match mango latte was good as well! I definitely need to keep my eyes peeled for their seasonal specials because drats I just missed their sesame matcha! Prices are fair for the quality and like I said, 7 am open on weekends? So convenient before work. All in all, a good experience and tasty treats. I will definitely have to go back to try the matcha, specialty drinks, and seasonal goods they have running through!
Cute shop, perfect for studying as music was not too loud and it's quiet enough to focus. I go the Soft cream thai tea and my bf got the matcha latte. The soft cream definitely was creamy and less Thai flavor. Matcha was perfect. I would come back and try their other Thai style coffee instead. Service was good.
The es-yen and matcha mango were both delicious. The coconut drip was just alright and the pieces of coconut were too big to go through the straw so that was a disappointing. The mango purer was a bit thicker than what I like, but flavor was delicious. The Es-yen was good hot or iced, you can really taste the sweet, creamy condensed milk in this. The banana bread was also surprisingly good! Will be back to try that Thai coconut that I only saw when I was leaving the shop.

We went here on a Sunday afternoon and were immediately greeted upon arrival. The interior was pleasant and felt very open. There were also a nice variety of tables and seating available. I appreciated that the menu was clean and organized. The matcha was a bit too light and subtle, the taro did add a nice texture throughout the drink; however, the overall taste profile felt a bit too sweet for me. I wish there was a bit more of that earthy note to it. On the other hand, the black sesame latte had a strong and bold flavor profile, which overshadowed the black sesame in my opinion. I wished this had a bit more sweetness to cut through the medium/dark roast.

I think it was. The ambience had plenty of seating inside under an apartment building. The service was good for what it was
Kaleido Coffee is Portland's very first Thai specialty coffee shop and it is tucked away in the Northwest Portland area. Street parking will be your best bet here and there is a good amount of it around the area. Inside, they have a colorful and modern setup with a good amount of seating. For their menu, they have a unique selection of different Thai-inspired coffees, matchas, refreshers, and pastries to choose from. Wifey and I got the Thai-Style Banana Cake and the Coconut Thai Tea and both items were amazing! Overall, we really enjoyed the vibes of the shop and the authentic experience they offer. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. This is a great spot to come grab a drink, chill with some friends, and experience a unique Thai coffee shop vibe.
A bright open space with a pretty large menu! I got to visit on a Sunday and there was a good amount of street parking near the cafe. I don't usually go out for speciality Thai drinks so this was a good stop! There were also some interesting seasonal items that I almost got to try but I went with their cloud Thai tea instead. The service was nice and fast and our drinks came in nice cups for us to enjoy in the cafe. There is a bathroom that is located within the building next door that you can access and you take care of your cups when you are done. There is a good amount of seating but it didn't seem like a place where people linger too long. Overall it felt comfortable and the selection was nice! read more

Walking into Kaleido, the first thing that caught my eye was the warm orange and green color palette, which is carried throughout their logo, seating, and interior. The space feels cozy, welcoming, and full of personality. I especially loved the little post-it wall where customers can leave behind anything they want a small detail that makes the café feel even more personal and community-driven. What I ordered: Soft Cream Matcha One of the creamiest matchas I've ever had! The soft cream was incredibly fluffy and smooth, while the matcha itself was bold enough to come through with every sip and also had a coconuty essence to it. It had just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the matcha. If you love a rich, creamy matcha, this is definitely one to try. Es-Yen A classic Thai-style iced coffee made with condensed milk. This was strong, sweet, and definitely had that much-needed wake-me-up effect! The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. KALEIDO Coffee is such a gem tucked away in Northwest Portland. They serve unique Thai-inspired drinks like mango coffee and matcha with mango -- all super delicious. My favorite was the Thai tea cold foam with coconut water, which I would definitely order again. Everything on the menu looked so appealing. My husband tried one of their signature drinks, the ES-YEN. It was perfect for his taste, though a little too bitter for me since I prefer my coffee on the sweeter side. Still, I highly recommend giving it a try for yourself and exploring their creative menu. read more
Such a good vibe for studying/chilling. Barista was very nice and the yuzu soda was very refreshing. Ample amount of seating here, as there are technically more tables on the "apartment" side. I also tried the coconut latte, and it did not disappoint. They use coconut water instead of milk, which made it all the more special. read more

Such fun and delicious sounding drinks, it's so hard to choose from the menu and am already thinking about what I should try next time I'm in the area! I went with the Coconut Thai Tea Cloudie and it was so refreshing. This is a good spot for meeting friends, they have options for glass cups if you want to enjoy your drinks there, friendly staff, and they have a fun stylish interior to complement the great drinks! read more
Honestly one of my official favorite cafes in the area , the energy is really calm and cozy , I had a coconut latte and a coconut thai tea cloudie and they were both absolutely delicious and refreshing they also paired very well together. The barista was super sweet!! I got to enjoy a chocolate chip cookie and it was heavenly. Cant wait to go back for the matcha coconut cloud drink ! read more

Nested in the space that was formerly Q coffee ,Kaleido offers an upgrade to the previously lacking coffee experience . we stopped for an early morning pick-me up and had a pleasant time chatting with the staff and sipping our coffees in peace . The drinks were great and we did a second round as well . I found them lacking in pastries and baked goods though. The seating is comfortable and the space is well lit and looks beautiful. read more

After we got our coffees, and we were walking out , I said to my wife, this is my favorite coffee shop in PDX (the interior layout design, style, vibe and open feeling). You will see in the pic's, how open it is. This compared to others is such a difference. I guess this might be a perfect summer spot, with a nice cool breeze. Winter might be a different story. I will have to test it out. This is like those very nice modern homes with the outside brought inside, where the walls slide and the whole rooms is open to the fresh air. Ok, about the coffee. I got a ES-YEN, with oatmilk and still the sweetened condensed. It's a nice option, you can even do it full vegan. The barista said she does it the way I ordered and it's very good. She was right. It was different than I have had for Thai coffee but in a good way. Usually, even though it's so delicious, it is was too strong and really hurts my stomach, and can also be way too sweet. This was not like that. My stomach was just fine, and the sweetness was much more subtle but delicious. When I finished, I wanted more. My wife got a soda, lime and passion fruit I think. I got a taste, it was really good. Refreshing and tart. She also finished much too soon. I think the take away from this is order 4 drinks, so you can enjoy it for longer. The employees were very nice, explaining the drinks and the differences. I got to take a few pic's of drinks made for others. We will be back. I really want to check the vibe out again, and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves including the employees. read more

Poor customer service. Went here for the first time traveling from a different state. Ordered mango drip. It was so bitter. Asked if I can change it to a different drink. They said no so had no choice but to order and pay for a new one. Not everyone is familiar with Thai coffee concept in the US. Wish that they were considerate and would offer to change the drink. Also for the ambiance, there were a lot of flies inside the restaurant. Wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more

We stopped by Kaleido Coffee the other day and tried their thai coconut cloud, matcha coconut cloud, and pandan bread! We felt that both coconut clouds could be a little sweeter. The pandan bread was tasty but underwhelming. The service is absolutely amazing and the interior and ambiance is beautiful. Overall, the experience was good! read more
Great vibe ambiance and so conveniently located at lobby! Plenty of great seatings for PC or group meet up time! I was craving PANDAN coffee or culturally unique and Yelp led me here. Good coffee but not my PANDAN. They have their own unique flair and nicely done. Coffee made hot and cold here. Very friendly and open to suggest baristas when you can't decide. I had their go to coffee must here and it was ok. I do love the vibe in this space and it's clean. read more

this is such a cutesy coffee shop filled with vibrant bold colors and unique drink options ! we weren't sure what to order at first, but the baristas were so patient and even helped us decide ! we ended up getting an es-yen (thai iced coffee), a thai lime tea, and a salted egg lava toasted bread. these were all incredible ! the es-yen had the perfect milk texture; smooth and creamy, not too foamy. the thai lime tea was so refreshing and delicious. and the toast was a really nice combo of sweet and salty ! read more

Clean aesthetic that's warm and inviting with different pops of color, a wide variety of drinks for coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers alike. It's been a curse for me to become caffeine sensitive over the years but be such a lover of coffee shops but if you're like me this shop has such a variety of non-caffeinated drinks as well. If I could drink coffee again I'd have tried the orange, mango, or coconut drip! But since I don't, I settled (but also not settled because it was yum) with the pink milk drink. Would love to come back to try the other sodas and chocolate-y drinks. Oh also a major plus is that it's dog friendly! read more
