Wonderful coffee. I ordered a small latte and it was perfect. Definitely will be back. I like that they care about each drink, even if it seems a little busy in there.

Flavorful chai, perfect for warming up to the cold weather. Plus a fun aesthetic touch with the stamped logo on the cups!

We were in the area and wanted something quick and cold. We saw the seasonal drink - Sundance - which had orange bitters and syrup with expresso and sparkling water and orange creame. The drink was interesting in a good way and was refreshing for the warm day

Very cool and chic coffee shop, the place has a dark accent wall along with some wood and greenery accents. The music playing was more on the upbeat side so the ambiance was more party like than chill coffee shop vibes. I was in the festive mood so I got one of their seasonal specials: the Maple Sage Latte. I forgot to order the latte as decaf so I asked to have it made with decaf and the barista was so kind and remade it for me. Overall I liked my drink, both the maple and sage flavors were a bit muted but it was still delicious.

Cute interior!

Coffee is a 5/5 but my chocolate croissant was more like a 4/5 -- still good but I've had better! Maybe I need to try their other pastries. The barista was super friendly and the vibe is really on point. Pretty busy on a Saturday morning but not too crazy.. looks like a good place to work too if you can get a seat!

I love sterling! Their coffee is so good. I love that the staff dresses really nice. They are very very nice too. The inside of the cafe is big and open and bright. There is lots of seating but it's sometimes pretty full. I went back in February when they had rose cardamom syrup and it was so good. Changed my life.

Drove all the way to downtown just to try this coffee shop. There's a lot of cute little shops around here as well. The weather here is amazing. The inside of the coffee shop is so cute and very packed for a Sunday morning. We got a caramel latte, one iced and one hot with oat milk. Def would recommend

Late review. I was in PDX last month and we always make it a habit to stop by on our last day (11/6). Not only was the coffee terrific as always, but the exceptional customer service, ambience and music (Mark Anthony)! Eric stopped by, chatted with us, and you can tell he loves what he does and his team. The female barista (I can't recall her name), was so friendly and entertaining, as she provided a refill of their amazing batch brew. If I could give Sterling Coffee Roasters 10 stars I would! My favorite local coffee roaster in PDX. Cheers

cortado and drip coffee

My cortado / drip combo here was perfection. A quaint, cozy shop perfect for a midday pick-me-up while watching the rain

Chocolate orange latte

The seasonal chocolate orange flavor sounded too good to pass up. It was good, but I was a bit underwhelmed- could use a tad more flavoring and thought it was overpriced. Good vibes here though.

Holiday Spice Latte (essentially a jazzed up Dirty Chai)

I love this place! It was a great spot to post up with my laptop when I first landed in PDX and was waiting to meet a friend. I actually took the light rail straight (45 min or so) from the airport to Providence Park ($2.50) , and walked about 0.5 mi to get here. Super easy distance and just a lovely journey. The baristas were super nice. There is ample seating, fun merch, WiFi, and a bathroom. I thoroughly enjoyed my spiced chai, or holiday chai. It was essentially a dirty chai with cozy fall flavors and beautiful latte art!

Great coffee, roasted well and served strong. Not cheap but gives value for your dollars. Pleasant place to hang for a bit too.

Command center.

Got a latte with their Ethiopia natural beans and it was lovely, roasty and bright within being acidic. We were debating between beans to take home and they also let us sample the brewed coffee version of the beans to make a decision, which was super nice. The staff was engaging and attentive, the space industrial feeling and clean and the coffee top notch. Definitely on our must stop lost in Portland!

I have probably spent a couple thousand dollars on their business. Not being able to pour my cup of coffee in a to-go cup when leaving is ridiculous and not standard practice. I found this out the hard way when I had ordered a drip coffee for here and, when leaving, the women kinda snapped at me when I kindly asked for an 8oz to-go cup. I'm on their bi weekly coffee subscription. I'm located in Portland and my bag of beans was routed from Portland to Detroit, then San Francisco then back to my home in Portland on my last order. How odd. I tried reaching out to them to figure out what's going on and there is no way of contacting their business. Their website has no contact information and I called multiple times and no one would pick up the phone. I finally found a personal gmail account linked to their business somewhere on their google business profile but no one ever responded to me. I find it to be very odd that they're running an online business, you can't contact them, and they don't have anyone attending customer service. That's very bad practice. If it weren't for how good the coffee is, PushXPull would be dead last on my preferred coffee shop. I'll update my review once these issues are addressed.

We took a last-morning stroll through downtown Portland and, on the walk back to our hotel,…read morerealized we wanted something warm and a short pause. That's how we ended up at Courier Coffee Roasters and it turned out to be the perfect pit stop. The shop itself is small and unassuming, but the moment we walked in it felt inviting and calm. The staff was genuinely wonderful. My partner ordered an Americano and was asked which cup he preferred, two different styles. He asked if they were the same size, and that simple question turned into the most endearing moment. Since the barista didn't know, she checked the bottoms of the cups for size markings (no luck), then filled one with water to see if it would pour evenly into the other, and finally put them on the scale. Verdict: same size. The curiosity and genuine desire to give us a real answer was just lovely. I ordered a hojicha tea, which was very well prepared and hit the spot. My partner said his coffee was smooth and really good. We also grabbed a pear muffin, nicely done, with generous chunks of pear (skin on, which I loved). My partner ordered a chocolate chunk cookie, which disappeared quickly. There was a record player on the counter with a mellow morning album playing, adding to the relaxed feel. The whole space and everyone working there felt warm, friendly, and welcoming. If you live nearby or are visiting like we were, this is a great place to slow down, warm up, and enjoy genuinely good coffee, tea, and hospitality.

My kids were particular fascinated by the working record player at the counter. The staff was super nice and even explained to my kids how the record player worked. I have mixed feelings about my visit this morning. There is so much to love about the vibe here,…read morebut the actual drink execution left me frustrated. The Pros: First off, the staff is incredibly sweet and friendly. They make you feel welcome the second you walk in. The modern, cool design of the space is top tier. It is exactly the kind of atmosphere you want when grabbing a coffee in Portland. I also love their progressive approach to dairy; they default to plant based milks and there is no upcharge for them, which is a huge win for accessibility and sustainability. The Cons: Unfortunately, the experience was completely undercut by the quality of the pour. The oat milk curdled almost immediately. I am well aware that Stumptown uses a more naturally acidic brew, which is a science experiment waiting to happen with plant milks, and I know it is technically safe to drink. However, the separation completely ruins the mouthfeel. Instead of a creamy, cohesive sip, I was left with a watery base and grainy floaties. It is disappointing to be told that this is normal when specialty cafes have the tools like barista grade buffers and temperature control to prevent this. While the ethics and the aesthetic are on point, a drink that looks and feels curdled just is not an acceptable standard to serve to customers. Summary: Great people, great space, great pricing, but the technical execution of the plant based drinks needs a serious overhaul.

There was plenty of seating available inside and outside on their patio. The service was delightful when taking our drink orders. The raspberry danish latte on their seasonal menu sounded scrumptious but the raspberry and the acidity of the coffee tasted a bit too sweet and tart for our liking. The black sesame matcha latte was also met with disappointment; the matcha tasted more like a steeped green tea with no earthy or umami notes. The black sesame helped deepen the flavor profile but I would not order it again. My friend's iced latte was my favorite out of the drinks that I sampled so perhaps I should order one of their classic coffees next time instead.

In a world where all coffee joints more or less run together, it was refreshing to see something that has more of a distinctly local flavor. The building is light and airy with a very large patio, extremely well laid out both on the exterior and interior, with plenty of places to sit and chat, eat, or work. The food menu, Weill, not expensive, offers a little bit of something for everyone. My friend opted for toast with butter and honey and a small hot chocolate made with almond milk. I, having just come from a lunch meeting, just had a large mocha. Placing the order was fast and accurate, and when the drinks were prepared, we were called up to retrieve them. While we were fetching them, a mere feet away, somebody delivered the toast to the table! We were quite surprised by that and a bit delighted. Definitely not expected. Sadly, no pictures of either food or drink this time - the toast evaporated before I had a chance, and to be honest, I find pictures of plain white paper cups pretty boring. Perhaps next time. The location is right on the edge of Ladd's Edition, just south of Hawthorne at the intersection of 12th and Clay. It's a delightful neighborhood, one that I often aspired to live in before I settled in where I am currently. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back soon
